“Born an original” is one of the topics I’m more passionate about. That’s because I’m afraid people don’t really appreciate that fact. They “know it” at the intellectual level, but they don’t “get it” at the gut level.
In the hard-hit finance industry, building trust with clients unnerved by the shaky economy is critical. Creating a trustworthy image begins with the most visible element of your personal brand - your wardrobe. Expectations for the finance industry are more conservative than other business sectors, since would-be clients subconsciously assume the style of their financial advisor’s dress reflects his or her values and decision-making expertise.
The Textures Of Life The Human species has raised self deception and denial to an art form, but how and maybe more importantly why? I can tell already that this will not be the easiest article I've ever written and probably won't be the easiest to read.

I’ve been running Personal Development Seminars now for over fifteen years and still, after all these years practicing what I preach, I wake up some mornings plagued with useless thoughts – or the little rascals come after me during the day when I least expect it. But, of course, I should expect them because, sad as it may seem, the adult human appears to be hell-bent on destroying our best efforts in the course of our everyday lives.
The vast majority of people with whom I work talk about life change, as if it was something to be desired, something out of the ordinary, something that only happens when we arrive at major crossroads in our otherwise mundane lives. How little we know about the reality of life! Viewed in its most basic building blocks – cells, molecules, atoms, nuclei, superstrings – you life is in a constant state of change. Indeed, the only thing that is certain about your life is that it is changing all of the time.
Happiness is the innermost human nature. We struggle hard to obtai Happiness in our daily life. But, we don’t really experience it, rather we are ignorant of it. The basic question is, can we really experience and enjoy happiness. Certainly the answer is yes. Now let us understand that the most important entity in our life is our own mind, and our whole life is an expression and perception of the mind. Really we can’t experience and enjoy anything other than what is perceived by the mind.
Questions to Ask Before Your Next Job Interview
All too often in our daily lives we find ourselves in situations in life that could be described as less than ideal, whether it’s in our job, our relationship or, indeed, just in terms of how we feel about ourselves. Did you ever wonder how you got there? Well, the answer is extraordinarily simple – it’s your own doing! We make choices on a moment to moment basis and all the choices that you have made in your adult life have added up to get you to where you find yourself in this present moment.
You probably know or have at least heard of Newtonâs law that states for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. There is balance and equilibrium in the world. Hereâs the kicker, and question I throw your way, have you ever thought of your thoughts as âactionâ? If you havenâtâ¦START.rn rnWeâve covered previously the fact that thoughts are things. Not only that, they are the initial things. Thought is the preamble to everything. Thought causes all. T
“I never know what I think about something until I read what I've written on it.” – William Faulkner There don't have to be any rules for jou aling. It's exciting to be open and creative – to find your own style and express yourself. But following some general tips may dramatically increase your results. Here's a simple 4-step process: Sync, Think, Ink and Link.
We all want more out of life. Some of us want to change our lives radically – some of us have things about ourselves that we want to change. But, unfortunately, for most of us, life keeps getting in the way! The stress of everyday life – yes, millions of people are suffering from stress and national health services worldwide are leaking money trying to cope with the related health problems – stop us in our tracks.
What steps do you deliberately take each day to ensure that you stay or track? Do you even know what 'on track' means to you? Do you know what you want to achieve? Do you know what makes you happy? Do you know where you want to go in life? Or are you just happy to go with the flow?
Our lives are the product of what we ourselves do to create them. Although, ultimately, we cannot fully control our lives, we can, in the right frame of mind, exert a huge influence on our success and happiness. Unfortunately, however, the normal person exerts little or no influence at all over the course of their lives because they have no concept of their own ability to grasp full control of the one and only thing that all us can control – our own state of mind. Indeed, I suspect that it has never even occurred to the majority of people that they can control their own state of mind.
A couple of years ago, as I marked 10th anniversary of graduating from the American University in Bulgaria, I came to realize that there are 2 important activities that you have an opportunity to engage in a lot when you are a student and have considerably less after you graduate, and these are Reading Books and Having Sex. Just imagine: unless you are working in the library or the adult industry, it is hard for you to be surrounded by everyday possibilities so abundant in on
Why does change have to be so darn hard? We struggle to lose weight, get in shape, eliminate debt and stay (happily) married. Health issues such as heart disease, depression, addiction and obesity - preventable illnesses – are rampant. Why is it so hard to change? The answer to this question describing eight strategies for success can be found in my new book, Does Change have to be so H.A.R.D.?, now available in bookstores.
I believe to my core that you, my reader friend, are an amazincredible force of nature, a source of outstandynamite power! Why do I believe that? Simply because you are a human being, a human thinking, and a human doing. As my speaker-friend Michelle Neujahr would say, “You are awesome!” Let’s look at the definition of the word awesome: inspiring awe. Ok, what exactly is awe? According to Oxford, it’s reverential wonder, amazement, and the Thesaurus says it’s admiration, astonishment, esteem, regard, respect, wonderment.
Inner potentials are set to ignite only if we feel that our present life or situation is not successful or when we feel that we have not achieved anything remarkable in our lives. The thought that we are more than what we are, makes us think of ways to activate or ignite our potentials. We all know man is a being having more possibilities. Human race has come up from the mere usage of stones to the present world of technology. Still humans managed to cross every stumbling block with the help of his brain and self confidence.
...is all about how you get to the start line! That may seem an odd thing to say as most people in projects focus on the processes and tools to get to the implementation. Let’s take the Flora London Marathon (FLM) as an analogy. Anyone who has taken part in possibly the UK’s ...
By Tom Hinton In 2007, I made a major transition. I stopped going to work. While I still had a job, employees to supervise and a business to manage, I made the strategic decision that I was going to regain control of my life and make time for the things I enjoy! To do this, I started working from home and stopped going into the office.
As I travel around from country to country, working with and talking to my various personal development clients, I am struck by the number of people who are doing what they’re doing for the money. In asking them what they would do with their life if money were no object, few tell me that they would keep doing what they are currently doing. My anecdotal evidence seems to be backed up by the extent to which the vast majority of normal people don’t like their work.
Trend spotting - Coffee is the new lunch Times change. "Green is the new black." Who could have imagined that two clashing forces - the Fashion Media and Birkenstockers - would stand united by this simple phrase? Surpassing its creators' wildest dreams, "green is the new black," has brought these disparate groups together. No doubt about it, the environment is on everyone's lips and minds. But in the corporate world, there is another trend ready to make the jump from fringe to mainstream. We're not talking about a life-changing phenomenon.
Whenever you are feeling overwhelmed or rushed, check-in with your personal perception and experience of ‘reality’. It might be useful to remember that our calendars and clocks are man-made; therefore these can also be ‘man-unmade’. The fact is, our globe moves around the sun and tilts on its axis to give us light or dark moments, depending where we are on the globe. Who has put the pressure on you? What are you thinking that has put you in that state?
For the last thirteen years, in each two-day workshop, I've asked my clients if they love themselves, if they think they're perfect. No-one answers "Yes". It's damn difficult to motivate yourself if there are things about yourself that you don't like. And, indeed, chances are that there are things that you don't like about yourself that you've been meaning to change but never do. After all, research shows that most people have similar New Year's Resolutions from one year to the next!
For all that has been written and said about goal setting, I have met very few people who are sure of what their goals are. And, with the proliferation of self improvement books and personal development websites, you could be forgiven for thinking that, with so many people wanting to change their lives, all these people are sure of where they want to go. Not so because, in all my years working with people, it strikes me that people are more focused on running away from their current troubles – or perceived troubles – than running towards a goal that they really want.
This is a quote from the Wall Street journal in September 2009: “A recent study reported that 52% of working French don’t sleep well on Sunday night. But work-related stress is not a French disease, and is ubiquitous and severe in all developed economies. In the U.K. and U.S.
Have you ever thought about who you are? Are you the body you see every day in a mirror? Of course you aren't. Your body is constantly changing. It is different now than it was ten or twenty years ago. According to some scientists, cells in our bodies are constantly being replaced by new ones. Although scientists differ in their opinions, most of them agree that every seven years we have a completely new body. Are you your mind?
I come to realize, man’s potential to ever accomplish anything he wishes for himself to be created and manifested is possible to outstretch his belief to what he can achieve in a lifetime. We are living in a time and age where things look very unstable and uncertain, for us to ever believe if a life ever was worth living is possible to attain in these current global conditions? As ironically as it may seem....Yes! It is possible to achieve the success you have envisioned for yourself.
I love this quote by the Dalai Lama: “People take different roads seeking fulfillment and happiness. Just because they're not on your road doesn't mean they've gotten lost.”
Determination and commitment are key words for winners. Winners live from the inside of their inner core and their essence. Being a winner means, you are always a winner. You have always been a winner. You are already perfect. You are already as you should be. You can always choose your road being a winner. Your road is always a road of a winner. You are open for ete al changes. You yourself are always changing ete ally. All is in movement and under constant change in the universe.

If you want to start pursuing your dreams and don't plan on settling for a mundane life, you'll want to start setting and achieving goals. By setting a goal, you're challenging yourself and whenever you tackle challenges head first and overcome them, you boost your confidence and self esteem. What types of challenges should I pursue?

The room is filled with people. Old, young, men, women, different styles, different postures, open curious faces, closed sceptical ones, intent, cautious, waiting. Bert Hellinger sits calmly at the front of the large, airy room, the well-known smile resting comfortably on his face. We have come to this place because we all want, each for his or her own reasons, to understand something about the family constellations that are the hallmark of Bert Hellinger's Phenomenological Approach to Systemic Solutions.
I wonder how much more time you would have on your hands, to do all the important things in life, all the things that you really want to do, if you stopped doing the things that you shouldn't be doing.
Consider your usual written correspondences: most likely you write and receive dozens of emails every day, and text messages fly in and out of your cell phone. Concise and rapid messages are ideal on busy workdays when there are plenty of proposals, meetings, and follow-ups to fill up your schedule, not to mention your inbox – and now, PDAs and tablets have made written communication more efficient than ever. Of course, when we are so accustomed to quickly skimming messages on a screen, receiving a classic handwritten card or note is a special occasion.
“Defeat is not the worst of failures, not to have tried is the true failure.” George E Woodbury. Why is it that we are so often down on ourselves and our abilities to make a go of something even before we have started it? I mean way before we have even attempted to start something, I am talking ...
1. Be You Being you is just that - being you, no matter what is expected of you. It’s taking all that you are – your values, beliefs, talents, skills and passions – and making them live in the real world. Being you is not about living your life according to the roles that the world expects of ...
rnThroughout a career that evolved over a period of almost 3 decades in the United Nations System, I have been a manager and advisor in the areas of Human Resources, Finances and General Administration. I consider myself an expert in the domains above and I am happy to be able to coach employees as well as graduating students at universities. While I highly recommend complementing experience with evolving expertise available on a continuous basis, I find that sharing actual e
How powerful are those three words, “I Choose Me”? They are so powerful that just by affirming, believing and feeling them, you can release yourself from any unhealthy attachment to a situation or to others. Many individuals tend to lose themselves in unhealthy relationships because they are waiting on their Partner to choose them over someone else. Sadly, that is how they give away their power. Waiting on someone to choose you or to acknowledge you gives them the power to manipulate and control you. I’m sure that is not what you want.
However you define your particular view of success, taking a 3D view will provide better clarity and help you reach your goals with more speed. Success can mean different things to different people and each one is right. Whether you are seeking to improve your finances, your health, relationships or connection with your spirit, the good news is that right now there is more information and materials available on the topic than at any previous time in human history. What then is stopping you from achieving success in any area in which you chose?
Why wait for New Years Day to make your resolutions for happiness and success? Why not resolve today to direct your life into the greater happiness and success available to you? So many do not experience all of the happiness and success they desire because they blame someone else for their problems instead of resolving to become all they can be and to do all they can do for all the happiness and success they want. Their fear of another's power distracts them from a more effe

As a child I loved to immerse myself in Golden Books. I loved the little stories and pictures and would read them over and over again. I held on to most of them and now delight in sharing them with my daughter. Little Golden Books are just that as they contain within in them little Golden pieces of wisdom.
So many comments were made on this blog when it was first posted in September of 2009. The majority of you said that you were going to work on eliminating the ten words from your vocabulary. I became quite curious a few days ago when I sat down to write. As I scrolled down the list of the numerous blogs I have written since 2009, I came to this one,and I began to wonder how many of you who made comments had actually taken action to delete all, most, or some (any?) of the words from your vocabulary. Here is the article as it appeared in 2009.
“You can tell a person, not by what they say they are gratitude for, but how they respect what they claim to be grateful for.”rn~ Mrs. Donna Priscott~ My mother was of my greatest examples on how to live life with honesty and integrity. This quote was one of her favorite sayings. Long after her passing, I remember every time she said it to me. She wanted me to learn that people don’t just see what I say, they learn who I am by how my actions match my words.
