In a relationship were each person is at the same level, one person is not going to see themselves as being above the other. This is not to say that each person is at the same level materially, for instance, but this is not going to affect the amount of respect they have for each other. Abuse As a result of this, this is not going to be a relationship were any kind of abuse takes place. If one person is not doing very well in a certain area of their life or if they are going through a bad patch, they are not going to be looked down upon.

The same thing that makes a diamond sparkle makes you sparkle, too: individuality! Everyone leaves their unique mark on the world. Your actions have an impact on the future of your family and friends; they’ll carry the memory of you as part of their life. How do you want to be remembered? Baby Boomers are increasingly thinking about their legacy. Traditionally, legacy has been about how much money the kids would inherit when you died, and/or making a big impact on future generations through civic engagement (uplifting the downtrodden) or moral teaching.
FIND YOUR VISIONnn There has never been, nor will there ever be another you in history. You are special! Perhaps you are unaware that you were being prepared your entire life for this very moment. There are going to be moments when someone feels happy and moments when they don’t, and while they may prefer to be happy all the time, this is not going to be possible. When it comes to the people someone spends their time around, they may also find it easier to be around them when they are happy. However, just because they enjoy being around the people they are close to when they are happy, it doesn’t mean they will avoid them when they are not happy. If they were to behave in this way, it is likely to have a negative effect on their relationships. Self-Centred
When other people are unhappy, it can cause someone to feel a sense of conce and to be curious as to why they feel as they do. As a result of this, one can hope that this person begins to feel better and even see what they can do to help them. This could apply to anyone one meets that appears unhappy, but in most cases, it is going to relate to the people that one knows and is close to. To be this way is part of being human and that means having empathy.
Do you worry what people think of you? Are you one of those people that shake and sweat if you think that someone is looking at you? Do you imagine this person is judging you on your looks, clothes, lack of hygiene or just your general 'ugliness?' Do you feel nauseous when you see good looking work colleagues talking together because you believe they are saying horrible things about you? If you are one of those people that fear all the above questions than it is about time th
There are some mothers out there who are loving and supportive and these are the epitome of the mother archetype in action. And then there are mothers who are anything but loving and supportive. These are mothers who have gone against their natural inclination to nurture. Instead of doing all they can to create a child that is healthy, happy, empowered and adjusted; they often end up doing the complete opposite. Now, there are of course degrees to how severe this abuse can be and this will lead to different consequences.

When I first started learning NLP, I had a client who wanted to increase his self-confidence. So I worked with him using some of the NLP strategies such as modeling and positive affirmations. In this article I’ll be sharing how this was effective and, most important, where I believe that the strategy was completely ineffective for the client and I compared to the VDT principles which I’m exclusively using today to help people develop unshakable self-confidence. If you’re inte
Having needs is part is part of being human and this means they are nothing to be ashamed or something that one should try to remove. If each and every one of us was inherently independent, then we wouldn’t have needs. But as we are all interdependent, it means that we all have needs. However, there is a difference between someone who has needs and someone who is needy. One person is able to get them met and then settle down for a while. The second person may get their needs met, but even when they do; it is still not going to be enough. A Metaphor

While all human beings have a physical body, that doesn’t mean that they experience life in the same way. If one was to think about why this is, they might focus on how we are born into different environments and how these environments can be the defining factor. However, without even going into the factors that might explain why everyone sees life differently, there are also differences when it comes to what is taking place within someone. Just because one has a physical body, it doesn’t mean that they have the same level of empathy as someone else.
While human beings need to experience intimacy, it doesn’t mean that this always take place. In fact, one might be in a position where it is not part of their life and never has been. This means that some people are used to experiencing intimacy and this is ‘normal’, and others are not used to experiencing it and this is ‘normal’. Each person’s life is then being influenced in different ways and their experience on this earth is not going to be the same. Interdependent
Studies show that at least 85% or more of the world’s people suffer from some degree of lacking self-esteem. Although one might think that such challenges are only characteristic of the poor, uneducated, or lower socio-economic members of society, people from all walks of life can suffer situational or more widespread challenges with their levels of self-esteem. nnMany very successful business people lack self-esteem in some areas of their lives. While trying to please others can be something everyone does from time to time, for others, it is the focus of their lives. What this person wants from life as whole or what they want to do from moment to moment is then secondary. The needs and wants of others are far more important than their own wants and needs. And perhaps this person has completely lost touch with their own needs, wants and desires, through becoming consumed by what others want. A Way Of Life
Have you ever wished that you had the CONFIDENCE TO SPEAK OUT about something you disapprove of or disagree with? Maybe you'd like to tell your boss that there's a better way to do something, or that you don't like being treated in a certain way. Maybe you're sick of people taking you for granted, or hurting your feelings without even caring to assess the damage they're doing to your self-esteem.nnIf you struggle to speak out, it's probably for one or more of these reasons:nn
There are many confusing and false messages bouncing around in cyberspace about life coaching. After coaching 600 people over the past 13 years, talking with dozens of coaches and surfing the websites of about 100 more, I'm sharing my take on what coaching is—and isn't. I'd like to say upfront that my intention is not to offend or denigrate. I'm simply stating my informed opinion, which is best taken with a grain of salt.
Self-esteem is essential for psychological survival. It is an emotional sine qua non- without some measure of self-worth, life can be enormously painful, with many basic needs going unmet. One of the main factors differentiating humans from other animals is the awareness of self: the ability to form an identity and then attach a value to it. In other words, you have the capacity to define who you are and then decide if you like that identity or not. The problem of self-estee
The term ‘Energy Vampire’ can conjure up all kinds of associations and meanings. What Does Energy Vampire Mean? The question is: What does the term Energy Vampire mean? The logical answer would be to describe someone that causes another to feel emotionally and mentally drained and lifeless. With it being a behaviour that is usually carried out on a regular and consistent basis by the individual.
To have a relationship that is healthy and functional is something that most people want in this world. Now, for some people this is reality and for others; this is often nothing more than a good idea and something that eludes them. And while there are people who have fulfilling relationships and others who want them; there is also another dynamic that goes on. These are people who may develop a relationship with someone or meet another person who is appropriate and who treats them well, and yet the relationship doesn’t last. Conscious Intention
While it could be said that there are some people who are highly curious, it could also be said that there are others who are the complete opposite. This is not to say that this is something that is black and white; as there are going to be people who fall into the middle of the spectrum. There are also likely to be moments where someone changes, and this could be because they feel different. What this shows is that although human beings are creates of habit, they can still change their behaviour. Curious
A few years ago while in the midst of a corporate consulting assignment I realized that there was one crippling belief that was rampant in every organizatio I had ever worked in. And this belief was not only the most common belief in organizations, it was, in my opinion, the biggest single barrier that most organizations have. What is this belief?
From the moment one is born, one is exposed to different people. And at the beginning of their life, these people are typically caregivers. So in the majority of cases, ones first role models are their parents. This can then go on to include siblings, other family members and family friends. As time passes and one gets older, this will start to include: teachers, friends and different influences from the media. The role models may change as one gets older, but they are always going to be there in some shape or form.
There are some people who come across as confident and as though nothing fazes them, and then there are others who are the complete opposite. Based on how they behave, they will be seen as lacking confidence and as though they can’t handle life. But while people are often are labelled as being a certain way, this might not reflect reality. As there will be moments when the label they are given is inaccurate and therefore doesn’t match up with what they are always like. The Environment
The name of this article might sound a bit extreme and over the top, however I thought it was relevant to create awareness around this often overlooked area. This is a general description of Emotional Abuse, which is based on my current awareness and observations. Physical Abuse Very often the most recognised form of abuse is the physical side; the type of abuse that is visible to the eye and can be easily observed. When the body is hurt it is clear to see, unlike when we are emotionally hurt. Emotional Abuse
In today’s world, people are often so caught up in their day-to-day lives that they don’t have time to think about their life. As a result of this, it can set them up to go in a direction that doesn’t match up with their true needs. Along with this, their relationships can reflect who they were as opposed to who they are, and they may even have people in their life who undermine them. Even so, if one keeps their head down, so to speak, they are not going to do anything about what is happening. Frustration
What every parent wants for their child is to give them the tools to become mature adults, that know how to make good decisions for themselves. So how can we help our kids learn how to make good decisions for themselves? When they leave the house at 18 years old, when we are nowhere around, ...

We all have Inner Critics. Some of us have several of them. journal therapy practice helps us to plow through the Critic's debilitating tactics, and transform them into useful coaching. The recipe calls for plenty of pen, paper, and jou aling, tunneling through the morass of inner doubt, guilt, and fear until we can begin to see the light of day with greater consistency. The process involves intentional role playing, as you conduct conversations in your journal with your Cri
The word anger and the behaviour that it creates is not something that is typically looked upon with acceptance or positivity. Anger is often portrayed as a troublesome emotion; an emotion that leads to destructive and abusive behaviour. And there is no denying that anger can be extremely destructive when expressed in a certain way or when it is taken to the extreme. However, I believe that if we look at the world and our own individual lives, we will see many examples when anger has been appropriate and has lead to positive action and change. Neutral Behaviour

It is often said that human beings are inherently selfish and the only thing they care about is themselves. There are going to be some people who agree with this and there are going to be others who don’t. If a being from another planet landed on earth and heard this outlook from a human being, they might come to conclusion that human beings are to be avoided. The impression that they form through hearing this is unlikely to be positive. One Experience
In my own practice, the foundation of what I do at the beginning of every coaching partnership is supporting each client to get clear about what it is that they truly want. From that point, possibilities open up to be explored and acted upon and lives start to shift in magical ways.
Our confidence has a big impact on how we enjoy life. People that are confident and happy with themselves unconsciously and positively affect the people around them. Have you ever noticed the girl that walks into the room and everyone notices her? People are attracted to her and she easily strikes up conversations with anyone in the room. SHE IS CONFIDENT! When a confident person enters a room, people notice. They exude and project self-assurance and happiness. That confident person can introduce themselves to anyone, and engage everyone in conversation.
When it comes to the words that someone uses, there is the potential for one to cover up what is really going on. Here, one can say what they think they should be saying or what sounds right. And while another person can take this as the truth, it could be just a half truth or a complete fabrication. This is why it is important for one to look at what else this person is communicating. And one of the biggest sources of information is what their body is giving off. While this can be manipulated just like words can be to cover up what is taking place, it is a lot harder to do.
When someone looks towards other people to define how valuable they are, they are going to be dependent on their approval and acceptance. And the other hand, if one was to define their value and not look towards others, the need to receive the acceptance and approval of others is not going to be as high. As no one is their own island and is interdependent, the need to receive these things is still going to be there. However, when one accepts and approves of themselves, they are not going to be needed in the same way.
I remember when I came to the realization that I frequently didnât do what I knew I should do, and that I often did things I knew I shouldnât do. It was 1982 and I had just gotten married. I was taking stock of my life. I realized I was totally committed to exercising regularly, I knew all the reasons why it was important ⦠and yet most days I slept in. I was also eating rich desserts every day ⦠despite knowing that eating a lot of refined sugar was not healthy. I th
The ego mind uses defence mechanism for protection and to ensure its own survival. There are many of these available and this will often depend on two factors. This can be: the type of experience that one has and how one interprets the experience. Reaction formation is a way for the mind to regulate emotions and thoughts that are perceived as being too inappropriate to reveal. It may be that one feels shame or guilt around expressing a certain emotion or thought. And as the ego mind works in polarities; the experience then becomes polarised.
We all know people who are “victims”—people who view their lives through the filter: “It’s not my fault. They (or it) did it to me.” When you understand what the feeling of victimization really is, where it comes from, and how it affects people, you will discover it is even more widespread and debilitating than you might think.
As human beings, we operate daily reflecting a wide range of emotions with a multitude of motivations fueling our behaviors. All too often, we react emotionally to what others say or do. If our reactions are preceded by the emotions of fear, anger, or sadness, we forfeit our ability to act with ...
Human beings have an inherent need to belong and when this need is not fulfilled, it can lead to all kinds of problems. Many years ago, if one wasn’t part of the tribe, their time on this earth would soon come to an end. In some parts of the world this is still going to be the case, however, in the modern day world, it doesn’t always lead to death. Someone can feel as though they don’t belong and live a life that reflects how they feel, and while they’re unlikely to thrive, they could still be able to survive. Two Reasons
While some people are used to having people walk all over them, there are other people who are used to walking all over others. The former is going to live a life of being violated and compromised, and the latter is going to live a life of violating and compromising others. Now, not everyone is going to have the same boundaries and so one can end up walking over another person without realising it. In this case, it is likely to be something that they do on the odd occasion and not something that is a way of life for them.
When I first started helping clients whose major complaint was emotional eating—eating for emotional reasons when they really weren’t hungry—I assumed that the problem was caused by beliefs and conditioning, like most other behavioral or emotional problems. But when all the beliefs and conditionings that appeared to be relevant had been eliminated, the problem usually was as bad as ever. At which point I went back to the drawing board.
“Change is difficult, everyone knows that!” This is the response I frequently get when people ask me what I do and I reply that I can help them make fundamental life changes, easily, quickly and permanently. Why do so many people believe that they have to put in a lot of time and effort, and need a lot of reinforcement, in order to produce a lasting change in their life?
We all assume what human life is normally and how life moves on. But actually human lifetime is strange. there are many facts being known to us and a few to everyone that helps make human life yet to become fully discovered. Numerous studies and concepts have evolved to learn human mind and feelings and the majority of aim at how to remain human lives happy. All of us live in the same surroundings and every one of us have the single mother- mom earth. But still feelings, emot
A few months ago I asked people on our mailing list which beliefs they thought were keeping them from becoming wealthy. The top five were: · You have to work hard to make money.rn· I’m not deserving.rn· I’ll never have enough money. /There is never enough money.rn· Money is a struggle.rn· Life is difficult. If you have any doubt about the impact of beliefs on your ability to earn and retain money, ask yourself this question: Imagine someone having these five beliefs. Then ask yourself: Do you think such a person is likely to be wealthy?
