It's just after 3am right now and I'm on a Northeast train headed to a business meeting in another city. I'm really not a morning person and I'm very sleepy. Make no mistake - this is not the way I normally chose to spend my early mornings. When I get off the train, I'm headed straight to my meeting which will last the entire day. I'm making all of this effort because this meeting is a thing that matters to me a great deal.

We find ways to do the things that really matter to us. No. matter. what.

All the reasoning and rationalizing in the world doesn't change this fact. Show me how you spend your time and I'll tell you what's most important to you. Show me who you spend your time with, and I'll tell you how likely you are to be advancing toward that thing you want. Everything you need to achieve that result is already in your life.

So what about you? What about that thing you want. You don't have it - yet. What are you willing to do to make it happen? How creative are you willing to be to get it done? What sacrifices are you willing to make to get what you want?

If you have decided that this thing is really important to you, and you are finding it difficult to achieve, here are 10 questions to help you keep a No Matter What attitude to get that thing you want so badly:

1. Are my goals specific enough to get me the results I really want?

2. Is there another approach that could produce the thing I want?

3. Do I have a big enough reason for wanting that thing that can motivate me through the obstacles?

4. How am I being consistent and determined?

5. What is the 1 thing I haven't done that would bring me closer to getting what I want?

6. What are 3 things I can do today to progress toward getting what I want?

7. Who are the people positioned in my life to help me get what I want?

8. What can I stop doing or sacrifice to get what I want?

9. What am I willing to start doing to get what I want?

10. How am I applying the life lessons from what I have already done to this situation?

Adrienne Fikes, M.Ed., C.S.C is the Soul Power Coach™. She coaches creative, compassionate thinkers and business owners living with "Absent-Minded Professor Syndrome" because they have big ideas about being of service to the world but are often afraid of their own talents.
She lovingly call them her “butterfly chasers” because they usually come to her struggling with indecision over a career change that incorporates their natural gifts or drowning in a sea of over commitment and stress from their business. Generally they are already pretty awesome people who need more peace of mind to be comfortable taking the initiative and risks required to exist within a seriously creative space. Many also feel like they are searching for a new tribe that “gets them.” As soon as they stop talking themselves out of reaching for help, she shows them exactly how to be more laser-focused, balanced, accountable, and accomplished by embracing their own Soul Power.
