There are several reasons why people become entrepreneurs. However, just like the candler who went on the Island of Diamonds to get some diamonds for his family most entrepreneurs FORGET why they started all this in the first place. The candler was about to go home in 1 full year, as soon as he gt there – on the island there were so many diamonds that he forgot what he went there for and was appreciated for his skill to make candles. On his way home – he took the most valuable thing on the island – his tools to make candles. So, let me give you some reminders, so that you do not forget, just like he did why you do what you do. The 5 reasons entrepreneurs go into business are:

1. To Make the Ends Meet
If that is the case, regardless of what circumstances brought you to take that decision, DO NOT STOP. Do whatever it takes to keep going. As a reminder, here is a story:

Every morning in Africa a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn’t matter if you are a lion or a gazelle. When the sun comes up, you’d better start running.

2. To Have the Life of Your Dreams.
Usually this story sounds like this: I want to have this big and beautiful house, to have all the time you want for your kids, and have those luxury vacations and of course – go to those networking meetings, make a lot of pictures and post them on facebook so that you feel like a movie star. So, how are you going to do it? Remember, find the business model that best supports the lifestyle you want and remind yourself often about the story of the lion:

The rabit asked the lion what is the time as his watch was broken, the lion offered to fix it for the rabbit and did it – very quickly. The wolf asked to watch TV at the lion’s den as his TV was broken and the lion offered to fix it for him and he did – quickly and precisely. What the rabbit and the wolf didn’t see was that while the lion was enjoying the sun, very pleased with himself, 10 smart looking rabbits were doing very complicated work with very detailed instruments.

3. To be Free to Live Life on Your Terms
Behind the sentence: I want to be my own boss, lies a simple truth: I want to be the one to determine what is going to happen and when. In order to really do that, many entrepreneurs discover the power of ASKing the universe, the Source, or as I call it God for help. What they often forget is that – they always receive the help they ask for – just not in the way they imagined it to look like.

I asked for wisdom… And God gave me problems to solve.
I asked for prosperity… And God gave me brains and the strength to work.
I asked for courage… And God gave me danger to overcome.
I asked for love… And God gave me troubled people to help.
I asked for favors… And God gave me opportunities.
I received nothing I wanted. I received everything I needed. My Prayer has been answered.

4. To be Appreciated for What You Do ad Who You Are
Some people go into business because they really brighten up when they see how their help changed someone’s life weather they decorated their home or they eased their pain with a massage. They often like so much to give that they do not really see as necessary to ask in return. In the end – they don’t feel happy about it. As if they say to themselves: I help so many people, why there is nobody to help me… Here comes the help in the form of a reminder:

If you plant honesty, you will reap trust, If you plant goodness, you will reap friends
If you plant humility, you will reap greatness., If you plant perseverance, you will reap victory
If you plant consideration, you will reap harmony., If you plant hard work, you will reap success
If you plant forgiveness, you will reap reconciliation, If you plant faith, you will reap miracles.
If you plant hard work, you will reap success.
So, be careful what you plant now, it will determine what you will reap tomorrow.

5. To Show The World You’re NOT a Quitter
For some people it could be strange when someone tells you: You can’t do that, You can’t succeed, You can’t achieve this… the other person to reply: Yeah? Just watch me. For some, there are too many nay sayers around them and they define their success in life with: I’ll prove you wrong. They are a very valuable to know and have around you because they either drown and become negative and pessimists or they get to the top. Weather you are from this group or not, remember this story:

A working mom with 2 kids goes home after work. A new working day begins for her. She cooks for the husband, cleans the house, puts the kinds to bed, read them a story till they go to sleep. And at 11:30pm she finally has time to go to bed. She is not just tired, she is exhausted. She doesn’t feel like doing anything, even keeping her eyes open seems like too much after this day full of work. And she knows – at 6:45 am the following morning it will start all over again. YET, she still does the most uncomfortable thing in te world. She says one more hour awake and works on her business. After all – she does it for her family and for her kinds.
