Life is filled with so much hustle and bustle, taking the time out to follow a skincare routine may sometimes feel as if it’s out of reach. Following these simple and trustworthy six steps can offer women of all ages beautiful skin for many years to come.

If a day spa visit is frequently on the calendar, it’s important to still remember these great tips. A daily care system is critical in achieving great skin results.

Step 1: Wear Sunscreen
Make it a habit to wear sunscreen even on overcast days. Today, sunscreen comes in an array of skin care products such as moisturizers. And that includes tinted moisturizers, too.

Not using a solar defense means premature skin aging. Signs of wrinkles, fine lines, age spots, and uneven skin tone will creep up. Sunscreen can slow down the skin aging process and protect skin from much worse like cancer.

If possible, avoid the sun between its most powerful hours which is normally between 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

And check the expiration date on the sunscreen bottle. If it’s an expired product, it won’t protect skin the way it was meant to do.

And above all, purchase a broad spectrum sunscreen.
Reapply it every few hours, and right away, after swimming or even perspiring.

Step 2: Treat Skin with Some TLC
Facial skin is delicate. So, there are a few things on the list to cater to that “TLC” mindset such as:

• Limit time in hot water to avoid dehydration
• Don’t tug or pull on skin (especially around your eyes) when cleaning or removing makeup.
• Pat skin dry and leave some moisture behind so skin can rehydrate itself.

And when it comes to cleansing, do choose a non-soap cleanser so it won’t leave skin dry.

Step 3: Kick the Habit
Another thing that can age skin rapidly is smoking. This habit lessens blood flow in the skin, which in turn, robs it from the oxygen it needs and the nutrients it requires to look luminous. Over time, smoking not only creates dull skin, but deep wrinkles will appear around the mouth and eyes.

Step 4: Moisturize
When skin is dehydrated, it’s thirsty for a moisturizer which can plump up fine lines and make it look younger.

Simply, it adds moisture back into the skin. Anti-aging skin care lines offer moisturizers that can provide antioxidants and age defying properties. The beneficial formulas in these moisturizers are just endless.

While on the subject of moisturizers, also purchase a body moisturizer, as well. Pay special attention to the neck, chest, and elbows areas. In the summertime, feet will need extra moisturizing, too.

Never use a body moisturizer on the face – it’ll be too harsh.

Step 5: Eating Healthy and Sleeping Well
These two things seem so simple but they can be so challenging. A balanced and nutritious diet benefits the whole body from the inside out. Incorporating the recommended dietary amount of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains does wonders for the skin.

And a good night’s rest will leave skin fresh and glowing.

Step 6: Implement a Skin Care Regimen
Having a skin care routine is essential to looking young. Over the years, and as skin matures, these routines need to be tweaked to gain the maximum benefits.

In the early stages of a new skin care regimen, everyone seems so “gung-ho” about it, but as the weeks pass, they begin to lose the interest they once had. Please don’t
stray and stick with the regimen.

Working with a skincare professional is ideal because they can keep a client on track and pave the way to more beautiful skin.
