Most people are talking about working from home or on their own business when they're saying this to me. Well, making money from home and online is an extremely popular subject right now and people want to utilize this beast called the internet to start living their dreams.

One of the best ways to make this happen is by selling eBooks on the topic you care about. Here are seven easy steps you can take right now, today, to get yourself closer to quitting your job =):

1. What is it that you love? This is key. I LOVE helping people do what it is that truly love doing, thinking and speaking positively, etc. That puts me in the "Self help/self improvement/personal development/life coach category. For you, that very thing that you feel good about doing or that message that you want to tell the world is the very topic you should be focusing on.

You want it to be something that isn't going to be tiresome to you. You want it to be something that you can not wait to talk or write about. What is that you've been wanting to do for a long time? What is it that you think that you can help someone with and would love every minute of it? Write down a few things.

2. Become an "Affiliate" marketer. Affiliate marketing is where you find someone who has the products that are in your category/niche and you promote the products and receive a portion of the sales when they sell. Each time there is a sale you get paid! You can find products to become an affiliate for on "Clickbank.com" and the sign up should be free =)

You can also google your topic of choice and once you click on a few web pages, see if they have an "affiliate program" or link at the bottom of their page!

3. My personal favorite method of selling eBooks is PLR products.
P.L.R. stands for "Private Label Rights" and it means that the book is already written and you have the rights to sell that product for as much as you want and keep 100% of the profits!

You have the ability to make whatever profit margin you desire because you set the price. You can find PLR products in different "niches" as well. There are free plr products that you can sell, and membership sites that give you the ebooks to sell once you're a member. When buying a plr product, you only pay once and can sell it over and over again for the rest of your life! Can't beat that. With membership sites you can sell multiple ebooks which means multiple streams of income.

4. Sell and Market your eBook. One of the greatest ways to utilize your eBook is as a giveaway item in exchange for the person's name and email address. The individual will barter their name and email address for your ebook. You can later contact them with another product that you've created yourself or another plr product. The reason this works so well is because most people do not buy from you the first time they meet you. Think about it. The last time you purchased something, how many times did you visit that same web page before you bought? How many emails did you need to receive before you purchased?
When someone has an ebook of value from you, they associate you with value and begin to trust you. In addition to that you can send them emails that also provide worth, information, or something to make them smile and then they get to know you a bit more via email. Voila! A purchase =) (Take note. This is an Extremely valuable and lucrative strategy.)

5. Set up your "squeeze page". You can go to "elance.com" or "odesk.com" and hire someone to set up a "Squeeze page" for you. Or, you can shoot me an email and Ill walk you through it. The idea here is, you want to have a simple web page that you can direct people to to enter their name and email address to receive their ebook for for you to acquire their info.

6. Autoresponders. This is a helpful tool to make your life easier. Aweber is a nice, cost-effective autoresponder and this will give you that form that people put their name and email address in. Inside Aweber, you type out pre-written emails that will automatically go to the person who traded you for the eBook and now your business is on autopilot =) (I use a different service but this is the most cost-effective service to begin with).

7. Driving Traffic. Don't forget this! People will not just appear on your site! Just because you build it does not mean they'll come!=)
You can begin writing a blog at wordpress.com that has a link to your simple page.
You can ask your mom to send all of her friends to your page (Don't knock it 'til you try it =)
You can also go on Facebook or Twitter and put a link to your page on your wall or your friend's wall.
Don't spend too much on SEO (when you hear about it) yet. We can address that later.
