1. Make exercise part of your daily life. You lose musche mass and bone density as you grow older. Weight bearing exercises like stair climbing, working out with weights, hiking and even joggin build your bone density. All forms of exercise build your muscle mass. Take lots of leafy green vegetables for the calcium and iron they contain, drink milk for calcium and protein and work out every day.

2. Go to bed as early as you can and try to sleep for at least 8 hours each night. It is during the deep sleep cycles that your body rebuilds and repairs the tissues that have been damaged or worn down through the course of the day. Your cells regenerate faster at night. Also, if you don't get enough sleep, you might age faster. If you need help sleeping, try a cup of chamomile tea at bed time. Stop work 30 minutes before bedtime and unwind but not by watching TV or playing with the computer. The light from the screens would make it harder for you to sleep. Take a long warm bath, listen to music and sip chamomile tea. Stay away from coffee or anything that contains caffeine once the sun sets.

3. Drink at least 8 glasses of water everyday. You need water to flush away the toxins and to stay healthy. Your body needs water to function properly.

4. Keep the lines and wrinkles at bay by using a sunblock (minimum SPF 15) in the day. The sun's UV rays can cause your skin to age prematurely. Even a tan is a sign of sun damage which in the long run, is cumulative. Excessive sun exposure can lead to older looking skin before your time, and even skin cancer.

5. Pay attention to your skincare regime. Everyday, your skin is exposed to pollutants in the air. Dust, smoke and other pollutants settle on your skin as you go about your daily life. Cleanse your skin twice daily, morning and night, to get rid of these toxins. Then apply a moisturizer to plump the surface layers to make your skin look younger and seal in the moisture.

6. Eat your fruits and vegetables. They are full of free-radical-busting antioxidants. Free radicals are believed to damage the cells and accelerate aging. Antioxidants neutralize free radicals. Vitamins A, C and E as well as glutathione and superoxide dismutase are potent antioxidants.

7. Include Omega 3 rich foods like fish oils and walnuts in your diet. Take Omega 3 supplements to ensure you get enough omega-3. It would reduce the stiffness in the joints and joint pain as it works against inflammatory diseases.
