Coincidence or what?

Coincidences happen for a reason. You might not fully understand the rationale behind a coincidence until you have the benefit of hindsight. At the point of coincidence, you might wonder why?

Why did I bump into that person this morning? What made me turn down this road today? When did I ever do this before?

Then later, the reason presents itself. On reflection that person you encountered is now a dear friend; that road you turned down led you to the house you now live in; that newspaper you never usually buy, advertised a job that’s now yours.

Of course it’s also possible to increase the probability of coincidence by positioning yourself in such a way that, for example, the odds of a chance meeting are higher. If you want to meet someone, you can increase your chances of doing so by going to venues that they might go to.

The key to understanding coincidence lies in awareness. Be open to the fact that something unexpected is happening and have the presence of mind to enjoy the journey without necessarily knowing the reason why or the final destination.

Maybe you were meant to read these words today for a reason.
