Concern Yourself with What You Desire – not How it Will Come to You

Do not concern yourself with how things come to you. The universe or the thinking Substance that permeates all, knows all, communicates with all, and can influence all can take care of that. On the other hand, you have a rather limited perspective in comparison; so don’t impose your thoughts on the how because you then limit the ways in which the universe may deliver things to you. In the Abraham-Hicks teachings this is captured in the ‘placemat technique’, where your job is to identify what it is that you desire to experience in life, and not the manner in which that experience will be brought to you.1
This does not mean you have a passive role in the process of manifestation, however.

Many people will say, “but ‘God helps those who help themselves’”, implying that you need to take care of your daily needs and then God will support you. Firstly, the quote is NOT from the Bible, but actually from Ben Franklin and it appeared in Poor Richard's Almanac in 1757. And secondly, it may have been stated in reaction to many people’s tendency in prayer to ask God for help, relinquishing all responsibility and expecting God to either fix things, or resigning to a lot in life that supposedly is divinely willed. But God will ‘fix things’ for you whenever you’re ready to listen to the voice of truth within and act upon it. God has given His children everything already! God-within will reveal solutions and attract all that is needed to materialize your fulfilment. That God has granted His children the Kingdom means that nothing has been held back from us—“all the good that God has for us has already been given to the Reality within, our Higher Self. In truth, we do not have everything right now, but we have to claim it.”2 We claim it by choosing the spiritual equivalent for what we desire in physical form, i.e. by being in the consciousness of knowing we have our desires fulfilled. When we claim the power of co-creation over our life, the means and capacity will become active as these are waiting as potential within. We have but to raise our consciousness to this reality and with faith, listen for guidance and start acting towards that fulfilled reality.

Your job is to envision and think large thoughts that will augment creation, and then be prepared to receive the resources and inspirations to fulfil these visions and act upon the opportunities that will present themselves to you. Your active participation is not in orchestrating things to happen, but rather in maintaining your consciousness in harmony with the mind of All-creation, and following up on the divinely guided opportunities that will arise.

You’re covenant with the Creator is written in joy3, so find what enlivens you…what stirs your soul…and you will be fully supported to bring this to realization. If you want wealth in order to be free to do what you want, for example, you’re working things backward. First determine what it is that you truly want and are passionate about—nurture, energize and work that as though you have it now, and all the resources you need will come to your aid. When you try to take care of the how (e.g. make money to have freedom), you are putting doing before being and are inviting struggle. If you will fulfill the responsibility of consciously being according to what you desire in life, and allow your actions to arise out of that sense of being, you will be in alignment with the flow of creation and all your actions will be successful (i.e. will get you closer to your goal).

Many people think that being grateful for what they have means to be content with their ‘lot in life’. But gratitude does not require stagnation. You can be deeply grateful and at the same time be open and striving for greater fulfilment. In fact, the greatest thing you can do with life is to realize the full expression of your being within it, and be the best you can be. It is God’s will for His children that they thrive and seek all the blessings of life. As you fulfill yourself, you bring forth gifts in the world that benefit others and support their fulfilment. Creation builds upon itself and what we accomplish in consciousness or creation benefits our progeny as well as our peers in life. Reaching full self-realization benefits others and all of creation in ways you can’t even imagine.

In the Spirituality of Wealth Program, the following principles, among many others, are developed:

· All true desire in you is God seeking expression.
· The impulse of creation is the increase of life.
· Self-realization is the greatest gift you can impart to others, and is in harmony with the increase of life.
· Align in the love that you are, and you command the power of the Thinking Substance—the power of the universe.
· You are invited, as love, to co-create with the Father.
· You have an inalienable right to seek all the blessings of life and to have all your prayers in the name of love answered.
· It is right to seek the blessings and inherit the Kingdom, for doing so will enable you to thrive in life and be an agent of increase of life.
· Though no one on earth is above temporary hardships or suffering, God has written your covenant in joy. Seek your joy and there shall you find your true fulfilment.
· Your task is not to worry about the how of creation, but about what and why (purpose), and have that what and why align to the love that you are, in harmony with the Higher Will operating through the Thinking Substance.
· You can have all you desires so long as you desire it from your wholeness (i.e. so long as it’s not out of neediness or needing something, but out of a desire to express or give something).

That we are to concern ourselves only with the what and not the how is supported by the following passage:

“Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed. For your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Matthew 6:31-33)

This passage clearly states that we are not to attempt to secure the means—this will be taken care of by the Father. And how this is done is through the natural workings of the universal laws of creation, which respond to you when you are love. It is not our responsibility to figure out how to survive—that’s not where the kingdom of God is to be found. We ‘seek the kingdom of God’ by seeking our joy and expression of desire stirring within from the impulse of love, because that will bring us close to god consciousness. We don’t co-create with the Father only after we have the means, but rather as we seek the kingdom in this very moment—and this requires faith in God’s promise. And when we uphold the increase of life by imparting value to the world in a manner that harmonizes with the good of all, we align with the plan of God and can bear fruit for Him. “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” (John 15:5 KJV)

All your thoughts manifest at some level, and you own every thought no matter what state of manifestation it is in. If you desire accelerated manifestation, then you must nurture and tend to your most precious thoughts to give them greater weight and density. So many people get caught up in doing outwardly and don’t pay attention to creating inwardly by nurturing their creative thoughts.

Do you actually know what you desire, SPECIFICALLY, in all areas of your life? Think about it…And if you don’t, what are you attracting/creating as life experience?

Knowing the WHAT is critical! Only then can you move into the energy of your desires fulfilled. And when you line up the energy, ensuring that you are clear to receive and that your thoughts are unambiguous, crystal-clear, and sufficiently ‘formed’, then you spare yourself an enormous amount of time and effort that is wasted in ‘doings’ in an attempt to implement the how. Abraham states that 17 seconds of pure creative thought is equivalent to 2,000 hours of action taken (about a year of 40 hours per week) and that 68 seconds is worth 2, 000,000 hours (about 1000 years…). So it’s important to value creative thought and recognize its power at mobilizing the creative energy forces to support manifestation.

For example, if you are all geared up to allow wealth into your life and have accepted that you have a right to thrive, and then you turn around, looking for ways to make it happen in outer life, rather than focusing on the principles of finding your joy, creating from the self, and aligning to the love that you are within, then you’re interfering with the how and have fallen out of faith. You will not be aligned with increase of life as you are not seeking, first and foremost, to express (give) the self in your actions, but rather are looking to secure something from your actions.

When you consider yourself as consciousness and energy, then you will understand that when you give of self as creative impulse, you create a powerful vortex that is magnetic to the formless Substance or universal creative energies. Formless Substance is compelled toward the increase of life, and when you are a creative center as consciousness, you are very compelling to it. On the other hand, when you give in order to get something or make something happen—no matter how lofty—, you are attempting to secure something from the world of form and never create the powerful vortex effect of giving with abandon, for the joy and experience of expressing self (i.e. with no concern about return).

Your role is to find what brings you joy, passion and a sense of fulfilment, because in doing actions that are in harmony with this, you engage your whole being and put yourself out in the world. The value you offer the world is yourself—that is how you augment creation. Consciousness is all that is real and value is measured by ‘real’; and thus only expressions of your being truly augment creation. The value you give to the world will be returned many times over, in order for you to produce even greater value. So don’t concern yourself with how things will come to you. Be fully present to life and allow the circumstances that present themselves to guide you in the direction of your highest possible good.

“The secret is to move back in consciousness, away from that which is seen, and up to the underlying energy pattern, the vibrational vortex that is constantly pulling matter into it. And where is that pattern, that vortex? Right within your consciousness. Within the living force-field called you is the pattern of everything that exists in the phenomenal world.”4

Once you are clear on WHAT you desire to create in your life, the most powerful manner in which you can convey this information to the Thinking Formless Substance around you and create that strong vortex in consciousness is by being in the energies of your desires fulfilled.
