The underlining factor in joining a multi level marketing business opportunity and to start an mlm business is to gain financial freedom by working for yourself and not having any boss to push you around. This can be achieved only if your organization grows exponentially. That means you have to have a continuous list of leads and prospects whom you can approach to talk about your business opportunity and who will either buy your products and services or join you as a team member.

However, for most people, unless they are in a position of credibility where they have access to a huge network, this does not hold true. Many network marketers will find that their list of contacts will start running dry and they will be advised to begin looking at the cold market in order to grow their small home based business opportunity.

With the traditional network marketing ways of prospecting, where approaching perfect strangers is the norm, the Internet has come into force as a new way of conducting network marketing today. Whilst using ‘offline’ marketing strategies call for you to have not only credibility and lots of contact, this is not necessary if you turn to the Internet. At the same time, not many people have the type of charisma and influence necessary to attract a huge following and this is almost impossible to duplicate.

So if you are an upline and you have recruited someone who does not have the credibility, contacts and charisma that you have, it will be an uphill task in helping your downline succeed in the mlm arena.

However, by using the Internet in your network marketing today, it is possible to help your downline increase his credibility by using the various prospecting tools available on the Internet. Some of these include branding oneself to gain the credibility via creating blogs and participating in forums. At the same time, using methods like article marketing and social media marketing to drive traffic to the website and generate leads also helps your downline by creating an online charisma.

By duplicating this online prospecting method, your downline will soon see results. Bear in mind though that this may not be immediate as it does take some time and effort to bring your work to fruition. However, as the saying goes: Never give up, never give in! As long as there is focus and commitment, there will be success.
