I know it's been a minute since my last letter but I've got a good excuse (haha...like there is such a thing). I was in the process of moving to sunny Santa Monica, CA!

This transition has brought up an extremely valuable life lesson that I want to share with you because it has made such a deep impact on me. It's about the energy of your space.

For the last year, I lived in a cool funky city called West Hollywood. It's the fast-moving, trendy, outrageous part of Los Angeles known for fashion, nightlife, and other forms of debauchery. I moved there because it was central to everything in LA, and at the time, that was important to me and my business.

Shortly after arriving in my new home, I began to feel a faint sense of tension in my body that I hadn't experienced before. The more I paid attention, the more I realized that it was coming from the energy of the city. On a daily basis, I would hear people screaming at each other outside of my window. Road rage was totally in style. Materialism prevailed.

As a result, I would wake up feeling more anxious than usual. I had a harder time falling asleep. My meditations weren't as quiet or deep. My mind raced.

While I knew that I could put the effort into moving again (if it was absolutely necessary), I decided that it would be best to stick it out and deal. Yet the longer I stayed, the more tension and discomfort I felt.

A year later, I decided it was finally time to make the shift. I didn't want to put up with it any longer. So I found a great spot closer to the beach and made the move fast; which brings us to today.

In just a few days of being in my new home, that underlying energy of anxiety has completely evaporated. Though it's a subtle shift, it has made a world of difference to me.

This experience has helped me realize how deeply important it is to live in a space that feels aligned and supportive to your individual nature. Was there anything wrong with West Hollywood? No. Was it right for me? Definitely not.

The lesson here is that if you live, work, or play in an environment that is causing you to feel anxiety, tension, or frustration, look to make a change immediately. Since you are constantly digesting the stimulus of your environment into your own personal being, it's absolutely imperative that you are surrounded by sights, sounds,
smells, tastes, and feelings that support and nourish you.

Speaking from my own experience, I can tell you that the challenges of making a move NOW are far less significant then staying stuck in a space that doesn't serve you.

As always, I would love to hear your thoughts. (I read all of them!)

Much love,
