Definition of procrastination: the act of putting off or delaying an action to a later time.

Definition of stress: stress can come from any situation or thought that makes you feel frustrated, angry, nervous or even anxious.

Procrastination can cause stress, putting those things off we know need to be handled/done creates stress in our life. Then stress causes illness both mental and physical, so managing procrastination is important and needs to be looked at and a plan to put it in order.

When you are dealing with procrastination issues many times they can look like they fall into other categories, like let's say laziness, the illusion of not enough time, fear of doing the project, failure of feeling not good enough, and even the fear of success. So the first thing you need to do is look at the really true reason you aren't doing the projects you are putting off. Be honest with yourself, this a true health issue, procrastinators can tend to have more colds, stomachaches, high stress levels, insomnia and can even lead to weight issues.

Some times putting things off can even be an adrenaline rush issue, you wait until the last minute because then you can pump up the adrenaline and that gets the anxiety level up to get the project done and then before you know it you are addicted to the adrenaline rush and always need that to get things done.

The key to procrastination is to find out what you get out of it, there is always an underlining issue, then start being aware of when you are delaying in getting something done, and the next step is the most important…start making a list of tasks.

Making a list of daily tasks is a must, besides, it is fun to make a list and then to mark each one off as it is done, you can see immediate accomplishment as you mark off what you have done. A true self gratification and also a procrastination buster.
