A Day Care Centre can make or Breaks the Children
Written by Vivek Ranjan
Child gets care from several families at the same time, either in their own home or in a specialized child care facility. When both the parents are working it becomes difficult for them to take care of the child because of the lack of time. So what most of them tend to do is keep a governess for their child who can look after them at their home itself or they prefer to keep their child in a day care centre. Children require someone to take care of them up to a certain age. When there is grandma or Aunty then it is fine they can take care of the child but if the parents are staying away from their family then it would be problematic for them. Day care is a way of care for a child while the parent is away from the kids. The service is known as child care in the United Kingdom, Australia and North America.
Day care originated in France in 1840 and was recognized by the French government in 1869. It originated in Europe in late 18th and early 19th century. Studies have suggested that day care for child is not harmful as it can provide different experience to the child especially when they get many children to interact with. There is a different quality of standards at each day care centre. Parents have to judge which is best for their child as they choose schools for the child in the same they have to take decision for the day care. Bad day care spoil the child as it fails to foster positive in the child but the high quality day care centre gives better outcomes. Many parents also say that day care is inferior to parental care. Children who get higher quality care, they have better language and cognitive development as compared to low quality care. It has been discovered through studies that children who got a higher quality of child care scored good marks on 5th grade vocabulary tests than the children who received a lower quality.
The teachers sometimes complain about the children who are from day care centres that they are the most disobedient, most of the time fight with other child and argue a lot. This is because the child gets low quality of care from the day care. All day care centres are not alike, there are many day care centres from where many children come with good etiquettes and have learnt more than other children in their age group. Many parents enter into the child care profession as a way to earn and at the same time take care of their own child too. Child care profession is not an easy job, one has to be patient and love the kids. There are many caregivers who enjoy the satisfaction they receive after taking care of a child. The parents who have already their child in the day care centre can only understand the importance it. It provides children with activities which promote in them a healthy development depending on the quality of the day care centre.
