Most entrepreneurs, if they are honest, will admit they have too much to do and things sometimes get lost in the shuffle. You are wearing at least half-a-dozen hats at any given moment. There are many systems out there to help you get it done, but let's look at just 7 steps you can take without investing in and learning a system.

1. Break your projects up into tasks. If your project is to "open your office" or "expand your office", that's great, but it cannot be accomplished in one day. You want to break the projects up into small steps that you can do piece by piece.

2. Decide what you must accomplish on a daily basis. What is the single most important thing you must accomplish above all else in order to move the project forward. Brian Tracy calls this "eating your bring frog".

3. Make your list the evening before. Do not allow yourself to get up in the morning and wonder what you will do that day. Decide the night before.

4. Accomplish that ONE task that must be completed before you do anything else. This is essential. (Well, go ahead and make coffee, but then get the ONE task done.)

5. Set a timer and focus on the task at hand. When you set a timer for even 30 minutes, and turn off all distractions, you'll be amazed at what you can accomplish.

6. When looking at the overall picture, decide what you do best and find a way to delegate the rest.

7. Keep working at this piece by piece. Yes, it's an ongoing process, but you'll be amazed at how much you can get done.

Above all, get rid of the time wasters. Email, Facebook, Twitter, You-Tube, the TV, etc. can and will steal your time. Don't allow that to happen. Turn it all off when you sit down to work.
