Internet articles are different than ones in print. On the Internet, a needed conversion should take place...mainly a "click through" to a website. In print, the money has already been made when the magazine is purchased. On the internet, money will be made when the reader clicks out.
Keeping that in mind, it is important that the reader is enticed to click. In a print author bio, you will see credentials, education, past authorship and the like. In a Internet author bio, you have to lead the reader along.
One way to do this is to ask open end questions. Ones where it is implied that the answer is found when clicking out. For example: "How do you know if your getting the best deal in jewelry? Alice Smith is an expert in gemstones and she has the number one hottest trend on the Internet that she wants you to see."
The words "number one hottest trend" would be a clickable link to her website. This makes me want to click on the link to find out the answer. This simple yet overlooked technique makes a huge difference in getting people to click out. Marketing on the Internet is easy...all you really need is the proper training and solutions to make people want to buy!
