The education system has changed dramatically. This has lead to a a better understanding of the world and broad minded thinking. Also, new career options have opened for the youth of India. However, there are certain career choices which prevail since earlier times but now have gained popularity. One such sector which has becoming increasingly popular is the banking sector. The majority of students in India seek for a career in this industry due to the exciting packages it has to offer. Also, the growing success of this sector has led to a great demand for the bank personnel for various esteemed banks in India. To come up with a solution for this mass requirement of candidates and also satisfy the candidates' needs, IBPS came up with the common written exam in 2011. It was a national level exam for recruitment of various bank po and bank clerical posts in 2012. Many banks which participated in 2011 have opened their vacancies for the year 2012.
Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is well known for its recruitment procedures. It is one of those recruiters which pay more attention on the overall performance of the candidate and not merely academics. For this, IBPS not only conducts recruitments but also promotes candidates who perform well in their specific work areas. IBPS has been built by a strong team of professionals who have worked very hard to design question papers of high level and prepare highly challenging interview rounds.
However, due to so many banks mushrooming all over India, there was huge demand for bank personnel. Especially for high profile posts like bank po and bank clerk. Thus, IBPS came up with a strategy which included conducting a common written exam for 19 public sector banks of India. Many of these banks have opened their recruitment lines for 2012, and posted interview dates on their official websites. For example, Allahabad bank is offering 1600 posts for the post of Bank PO based on the CWE exam by IBPS.

Thus, all those candidates who appeared for the CWE by IBPS in 2011 must check the websites of the 19 banks involved and collect their score cards. All those who have cleared the exam and plan to apply for the interview in 2012 must start their preparation.
