When it comes to weight loss, your potential success comes from 70 per cent dieting! Dieting is actually the key to losing weight, although exercising will greatly help you speed up the process.

You should watch out what you are drinking on a daily basis. Many people pick up coffee or soda each and every single day they head to work or school. Coffee contains lots of caffeine, and caffeine is known to slow down our body's metabolism rate, which will then subsequently lead to slower fat loss. Soda contains many teaspoons of sugar in each can! When you consume soda, you are literally drinking lots of sugar. This will cause your blood sugar level to spike, and your metabolism to then decrease. Therefore, if you are feeling thirsty and looking for something to drink, your best bet will be plain water! Water has absolutely no calories and will fill you up and quench your thirst. If you do not like how tasteless water is, you can opt for green tea. It is extremely low in calories and will raise your metabolism rate.

Make sure that your diet should consist of healthy and natural foods. Many people compromise on their health and body by simply buying lots of processed foods due to its convenience. Processed foods also usually contain lots of salt, which is why you may like eating it. However, make no mistake, salt will retain water, and give you a bloated and chubby look known as water retention effect.

One of the biggest reasons some people find keeping to their new healthy diet being so difficult is that the new diet is entirely different from their current one! Naturally, one will tend to revert back to taking the same types of foods in the same quantity. A good way to prevent this from happening is to start your new fat loss diet by still taking the same foods, but reducing the overall portions of all your meals and snacking. This way, you will not be always craving for your old, favorite foods. You will then gradually make the change to an entirely healthy diet!

Next, you will be less likely to overeat if you were to take your meals from a smaller plate. Studies have shown that people are more affected by how much food it seems like they are taking than they actually take. Thus, by placing less food on smaller sized plates, you will feel that your hunger is satisfied even though you take in fewer calories!

To keep yourself healthy, do not go on crash diets as well. Crash diets may be very useful and effective, and help you lose weight extremely quickly. The only problem comes if you cannot keep to it; and everybody will not be able to, since the diet only consists of an extremely small amount of calories. When you stop following such a crash diet, your lost weight will usually come back twice as fast. This is because your body is used to taking a low amount of calories, and the sudden surge in calories will cause your body to deposit these calories as fats instead.
