Discipline and Obedience

The child can never know for sure what the rules of the house are because they change constantly with the mood of the parent. Discipline is followed by a tangible and genuine demonstration of unconditional love such as hugging. The bond between the disciplined child and their parent is strong if there is mutual understanding. Parents with parenting skills will definitely teach their children the concept of obedience which will lead them to more responsible and well behaved behaviors. The parent’s frustration rises when the child doesn’t listen to them which is like nightmare for them because it causes them embarrassment. They also fear that the child can do something dangerous to itself. Parents should inculcate the concept of discipline and obedience in the child’s formative years. If the children don’t obey it is important for the parents to take some step so that they start listening to their parents.

If you insist on your children obey you then it won’t help much because it is just a waste of time and will only gives the idea that the child need not obey. Parents should ask children to do something only when the child is ready to obey their command. This requires parents to spend time with their child apart from giving them proper guidance. Parents should also implement the discipline in themselves which they ask their children to do. Obedience is when a child listens and obeys the first time or after a warning is given. With the proper use of a warning the parents have actually built a method for disciplining children. Through the consistent use of this single-wa
ing discipline system, children will learn to listen and obey the first time they are asked to do something. If a parent continues to be negligent and only follows-through with the consequences some of the time, the child will continue to disobey and the cycle will continue.

Children of all ages can be expected to respect and obey all elders. The younger the child, the more consistent the discipline must be as young children are quick to catch on to what discipline means. Parents should be prepared for some tough days and some happy days, and every success should be celebrated.

The objective of discipline is to teach the child obedience that comes from the heart of the child out of love for God and a desire to obey. Discipline teaches the children the difference between right and wrong thing. It becomes even more powerful when it is combined with other weapons like passion, goal-setting and planning. The fundamental method to improve self discipline is to be consistent in following a strict regiment. Discipline teaches the child about their parameters and teaches to show respect to others. The most important possessions of a nation are the citizens themselves and if the citizens are discipline, healthy, honest, and sincere, then the nation will progress at much faster pace. Hence, it is very crucial to have discipline in both schools and colleges.
