Hello,

In this article, I wanted to write about emotions. Emotions are something that we all experience having. And at times our emotions are what drive us to make certain decisions, behave in certain ways, and think certain thoughts.
As babies and toddlers we are taught what "happy" is, what "anger" is, what "sadness" is and so forth. We often learn early on as children that our emotions are a strong force and how to use them to play on others to control or manipulatate. We're not always taught by the people in our lives how to use our emotional energy in right and healthy ways, however when we are, it's a blessing!

On television we see news broadcasts of horrific images, followed by the dramatic voice of the television anchor whose voice draws and pulls us more and more into the story. It's the images that they've painted and the "emotional energy" on the images that's pulled us into the story and caused us to, "React." It's unfortunate, because there's no way for us to process all their ungrounded emotional energy. This is why learning how to ground your body is so important, because if we are grounded we are less likely to react!

People paint mental image pictures everyday when speaking to each other by using words, which often times causes an emotional reaction, (good or bad) in a person's space. Their words create images in our mind, (their energy is now in our head) causing us to picture and feel the image that they want us to see. The thought has now caused a ripple effect in our space triggering us to have an emotional response within the body. This happens every day, so many times a day with every person we come into contact with; with every magazine article or every book we read, or every television show we watch, or family photos of aunt Jane and uncle Bob we see.

We can learn to use our emotional energy in right and healthy ways for ourselves. And we can use our own emotional energy to picture and feel what it is that we want to experience, (rather than what others want for us to experience). This process is what I call "emotionally growing up." As people we can have a high I.Q., but often times our E.Q. (emotional quota) is low, because we aren't taught how to, "respond" to things in our lives in ways that are right and healthy for us, but we are taught to respond to them in unhealthy reactive ways.

Take time to be aware of the thoughts that go through your mind and the emotions attached to those thoughts, (the pictures) and practice taking seniority over them. Decide how you want to respond to the people and experiences in your life. And please know that whatever you learn spiritually, metaphysically or religiously should be practical information that you can use and instantly apply. I believe that spirituality, metaphysics and religion were given to us to help us become more of ourselves; more happy, more healthy, more wealthy and more whole in our body mind and soul. I know these things in and of themselves won't change the people in our lives or life itself, but I believe if applied, they will give us a better understanding of who we are as spiritual beings so that we have a healthier approach to life and others.
