Hypnosis works to help your subconscious mind change patterns and habits that no longer serve you. By working directly with the subconscious you can make real and drastic changes that would be much more difficult only using the conscious mind.

Your subconscious mind is where all emotions, feelings, and values are kept, but your conscious mind is there to serve as body guard. The conscious wants to make sure that things don’t change. The conscious mind is quite happy to be stuck in a rut, thank you. The subconscious is much more open to new ideas and awareness, but the only way to get new ideas to the subconscious is by getting around the conscious.

This is why hypnosis is such a powerful tool for making changes in your life. Much of the way you view yourself is trapped in the subconscious. Luckily using tools like hypnosis you can change those views and improve your self esteem. By working with hypnosis as a tool you can empower yourself to do great things in your life.

Hypnosis can help to give you control back over your life. The bad habits and negative self talk will be a thing of the past after working through hypnosis. Overall life will be improved and real changes will be seen and felt almost immediately.

Here is what takes place during a hypnosis session:

Screening – Most hypnotherapists will want to do a full screen and medical session before ever starting the hypnosis process. Learning about you and what you want from your hypnotherapy sessions are going to help the hypnotherapist get to the bottom of your issues and help you make changes in your life.

Induction – There is an induction phase at every hypnosis session; most often the first session has the longest induction and they get progressively shorter as you learn the hypnosis process. This will help your body to relax and get you into a state where you will be comfortable. It is also during this phase that your subconscious will be more alert and aware of what is going on.

Application – In the application phase the hypnotherapist will give you clues, keys, or suggestions to help you make the changes in your self esteem. Often the hypnotherapist will use a form of guided imagery or story telling to help you get into the right frame of mind. Through this guided imagery they will be able to leave markers for your subconscious to follow; by doing this they are able to change the make-up of your thoughts.

Positive wording – Hypnosis is always done with positive wording. If you are dealing with pain the hypnotherapist might suggest that you are pain free. They won’t use negative wording or words that are not committal like ‘try’. It has been proven that these words fail to help in hypnosis.

Return to self – After the application process is complete there will be some sort of letting go of the process and returning to normal consciousness. Most of this is done by shifting your awareness back into the room. Once you are fully aware of the room you are in they might ask you some questions or have you do something physical to make sure that you are fully conscious again.

Often just one hypnotherapy session will garner real and amazing results with self esteem improvement, but often our issues are deeper than one session can touch. By working on a consistent basis with a hypnotherapist or even doing self hypnosis you are going to find real healing at the end of the work. Once you learn to apply the techniques of hypnosis to issues like self esteem you can apply them to many other areas as well. Changing negative through patterns, quitting unhealthy habits, getting into shape; all of these things can be improved or change through hypnosis.
