Tantalizing heart healthy low calorie chicken recipe perfect for the grill and over 100 sugar free low fat recipes. If you wander in to a gym and ask the muscle men lifting weights and looking fabulously toned with great muscles what they most frequently eat, and you also ask the slim, toned looking woman on the cross-trainer the same question, then you are very likely to come up with the same answer, chicken.
Chicken is an amazingly varied meat because it is packed out with protein so it can be fabulous for helping you to build muscle or get toned. But at the same time, if you remove the fat and just eat the white meat, it is also a tremendously heart healthy choice which is low in fat.
One of the only problems with white meats like chicken is that there can sometimes be a tendency to want to add thick, heavy sauces to them which can add greatly to the calorific count. These may well taste delicious, because after all, fatty food often does, but the reality is that if you are preparing chicken you need to realize that whilst the basic ingredient itself is a fabulously healthy choice, that you do need to make sure that you are not adding any extra ingredients to it that turn it from a low fat, healthy, ‘toned’ person’s food choice; to a high fat food, because of all the extra sauces.
So, in this recipe I am going to show you how to prepare a chicken breast that is packed out with flavor, but which doesn’t come with all the extra fat and calories that you don’t want.
Here is what you are going to need to make this recipe: (Serves two people)
Heart Healthy Low Calorie: 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (preferably organic as not only is this the far more ‘humane’ and caring choice, it is also not pumped full of the chemical additives and added water that you will find in most – not so - ‘bargain’ chickens)
2 teaspoons of dried parsley
Half a cup of lemon juice
Some ground black pepper
Salt to taste
A teaspoon of onion powder
A clove of garlic
(Note – If you are not a big fan of garlic then you can leave it out of this recipe, but just be aware of not only how good garlic tastes, but also what a firm, heart healthy, low calorie choice it is as a food ingredient, before taking the step of excluding it from your dinner menu.)
Heart Healthy Low Calorie:
The first thing that you should do is preheat your grill, as it needs to be nice and hot before you place your chicken underneath it, as you want to make sure that the chicken is properly cooked all the way through.
You should then dip the chicken breasts into the lemon juice so that some of those lovely citrus flavors seep into the meat. You should then lightly sprinkle the black pepper, salt, parsley and onion powder over the whole surface of the meat, and also sprinkle garlic over (if you want to).
Cook under the grill for 10 to 15 minutes and then serve Heart Healthy Chicken Breast Delights whilst they are lovely and warm!
