Can you guess how much time you spend interpreting whatever life circumstance arises by judging, evaluating, analyzing or comparing it?

As you do so it will help increase your ability to recognize how peaceful life can be when it doesn't have any of the usual mental chatter that gets in the way.

It's no secret that everything has both positive and negative features. As you can imagine when you like something you have a tendency to focus on the positive and simply let the negative be and when you dislike something you heighten the negative and disregard the positive.

To experience more peace you can begin to call to mind both the positive and negative features in something you like and dislike. And when you do this you can begin to see how your selective attention is leading to your experience of life. More than that this practice will also strengthen your ability to aim your attention in a more willful and conscious way.
