When you are channeling, you establish a two way communication with something bigger than you. You may call this energy Higher Power, Creator, God or you may use another name. I am going to use the term Universe for that which is greater than us.

Channeling is not limited to psychic readers or mediums. Anyone can establish a communication with the spiritual realms with effort and training. When you are in a relationship with someone, you communicate with them. They communicate back to you. The communication is two way. When you pray, you are communicating with the Universe. Usually you are asking for something when you pray.

You wait for a response. If the item you prayed for does not materialize quickly, you may feel your prayer failed. However, the Universe always responds. The problem is not that the Universe does not communicate; the problem is you may not get the message.

Maybe the answer was not what you wanted. Maybe the answer was NO. Maybe you were not ready to receive what you prayed for. Maybe you were not even listening for the answer.

Channeling is a two way communication. It occurs when you listen to or receive messages from the Universe. Most people do not have a communication problem when they make a request from the Universe. They have a listening problem. How can you learn how to listen when the Universe speaks to you?

Don't you think that this whole theology is just a glorified form of Deism or Moralism? All you're doing is having a vague belief in some divine Other that you yourself create. You're all disagreeing on terms, what to do, etc. There is no objective standard it's all opinion

You make a good point that chanelling is not confined to psychics or mediums. I recently had serious doubts about my spirituality only to wake up one morning to find that a large cool box and cutlery bag we use for camping had been moved across the bedroom door, I had to move it to get out of the room. I took it to be a message! I often get feedback in the form of sensations its a matter of being able to work out what they mean and in that respect wishful thing and denial are our biggest enemies.

Hi Nancy, Good article, I agree about the "not listening" part. I think we all can choose whether we "hear" the answer or not! Selective listening perhaps. I have been meditating for a number of years on and off now, and the difference in being able to understand and comprehend even the faintest of messages is much stronger. I'm more aware of my inner voice/intuition now than before, but sometimes I have heard a distinct voice or sentence that does not seem to be "me", I guess that might be a guide? Fascinating topic. How do you let some one go whom you have loved many life times? I did not fall in love with him in this life time however, the feelings have comeback from eons ago. Everyday I am haunted by thoughts of him and in my dreams he visits me. I miss him. This life has been a lonely assignment. I don’t know how much longer I can take it : (

Emily, I work with 5 guides. Each one feels differently when I am channeling. I see colors, so each guide has a different color. Have you read Carolyn Myss's book "Defy Gravity". She refers to a female mystic whose name I don't remember. Thank you for your comment.

No, I have not heard of that person. 'Interior Castles' is very, very difficult to read. I wish there were a translation of 'real English' from the original. This book was written under great duress in the 1500s.

I guess people call it "Universe" because it is unknown, i will write and explain everything later but for this article i have things i dont agree. It is not the Universe but the spirits, who are dead who died with sins, with hate, with anger. We can all pray but that doesn't do anything. The only thing we can do is beg for forgiveness of our sins and our ancestors sins. But i agree, chanelling works, the spirits and god are everywhere. Especially god who wants to give us love and wants to get love. Thanks

I call it the Universe too, not because it's unknown, but Universe is a good name for the everything, for all of the energy that is. As a clairaudient and clairsentient, I agree that channelling can bring through "dead spirits" but this is the exception rather than the norm. Normally we are channeling our higher selves, our own spirits, or that of someone elses if the channelling is done for someone else. I have to completely disagree with you on your suggestion that praying doesn't work. Praying does work, it is focusing attention on what you want, and this gets results, especially if it's done for everyone involved's higher good.

Yeah, praying is like you said focusing etc.(I mean that praying like i want this i want that) (Praying is totally positive like we all know) It is just i know some things which i want to teach and share with everybody, which is "if something doesn't work" there is a reason, and the reasons are our sins... like I said we can only beg for forgiveness because of our sins that thing doesn't work. I'm still a student so i don't know things you know like channeling etc. Like you said, does everything work when it is for everyone's higher good? no. It is not that easy until we are clean of sins. You call it sins, my teaching is that praying, or trying to use the law of attraction to manifest things, doesn't work if we haven't healed ourselves first of our issues & blocks.

Sis, no matter how much we "pray" or use the law of attraction, you must admit that some people, sometimes things just don't happen... Because, like you said the issues & blocks which are... sins... Therefore I just want people to know that we are not alone, people don't know the spirit world, the only way to fully control our lives and use any techniques to get what we want like praying and law of attraction first we must heal ourselves like you said, which is begging for forgiveness of our ancestors sins and our sins. How do we recognize them? every problem in our lives is something we or our ancestor did in the past...We must feel how the other person suffered and let them live with us, with our love.

I do this at times when I don't even know it's going on. I've become sharper lately and I'm able to detect when I'm channeling. Some times I know and just don't pay attention to it until I'm finnished with my communication.
