If most of you guys are like me you have just finished a feast that included more fat and starchy carbs than you need all month! You may have added a few pound or like me you stayed the same.n nHow did I not gain any weight after eating enough to feed a small village! The simple answer is that I had a very active Thanksgiving. As some of you know I visited my friend at Camp Lejeune, NC (Marine Corps Base) and we had a wonderful time. Among other things, we played football, went shopping without eating everything in sight and ran an obstacle course 3 times. But you are not reading this to know how to maintain, but how to lose fat during the remaining Holiday Season.n n***NO CRASH DIETS OR FOOLISH DETOX PROGRAMS!***n nFirst, let's take this week to detox from all the starchy carbs and fat that most of us ate last week. To do this just simply drink half your body weight, in oz, of water each day. This will assist in flushing out your system. This is how much water you should consume on a daily basis for the rest of your life.n nSecond, add 2 to 3 serving of fibrous carbs to each meal and only have 4oz of a lean protein per meal. Fibrous carbs are all fruits and veggies except for potatoes, corn, nuts, rice and pastas (I know pasta is not a fruit or veggie, just covering all bases). Most importantly don't over eat!n nThird, get out and be active! Don't wait until January to join a gym (cough UC Fitness) or work with a fitness coach (cough UC Fitness). I'm happy to be the one to tell you, but you are going to have to exercise to lose fat. More importantly you have to lift weights! No you won't look like a bodybuilder, but it lean muscle burns more calories than fat and one pound of muscle is 1/4 the size of a pound of fat! n nThese three are the only REAL method to losing fat. Every other program is a cloak for the system above. Do this and I guarantee you will lose FAT over the Holidays. Look for more tips coming soon!n
