Meditation Is Easy To Learn
Written by Marika Charalambous
The practice of meditaton helps you gain valuable insights you and about life in general. Meditation is an ancient art which helps with calming the mind, removing stress and enjoying life more.
Many people think of meditation as simply relaxation. Unfortunately many books and websites say the same thing, and this is wrong. Meditation does involve relaxation but it is so much more than that! It is all about mindfulness, about becoming a better person through cultivating compassion and loving kindness.
There is little that you need for practicing meditation. You need either a meditation mat or simply a regular chair, some quiet time and if you like guided meditation, a CD that has the voice of the guide that you can listen to and follow along.
Sometimes you can use a mantra in your meditation practice. A mantra is basically a prase, word or syllable that you repeat over and over again. It can be the name of God, or it can be an affirmation, which is basically a positive statement of your intention. For example you can use the mantra 'I am becoming a better person every day' during your meditation.
Mantra is quite powerful and it's a great way to reprogram your subconscious mind. It can also help you eliminate any bad habits and remove phobias and anxiety from your life.
When it comes to actually meditating, you will soon realize that it's quite easy to do so. You don't have to become a Buddhist monk in order to reap the benefits of meditation. You need to sit down on your chair, or on the floor using the lotus position (or semi-lotus position), close your eyes and start to breath slowly in and out.
Don't think much about clearing your mind because early on this is quite difficult to achieve. Just simply think of nothing special, and if any thoughts are coming to your mind, gently push them away. Don't get angry at them but nudge the to side and return to your meditation session.
It is good to meditate for about 10-15 minutes when you are only starting out. Eventually you can increase the time to half an hour or even more, however you need to do that gradually.
If you have tried meditation on your own and you found no results, you might have simply tried the wrong meditation technique. One of the best ways for a beginner to meditation that I can recommend is by using a guided voice. Guided meditatio
CDs are very popular and they are a great way to easy your entry into the wonderful realm of meditation and spirituality.
Once you are past the initial hurdles, you can let go of the CD and simply meditate by concentrating on your breathing, the flame of a candle or your third eye.
By regularly practicing meditation, just a few minutes every day, you will eventually start to see changes within yourself. You will become calmer, less stressed out by the daily worries, and you will become happier as you will learn more about who you really are.

How the Idea of Manifesting is Ruining Your Chances of Success
Manifesting. It's one of those words that people are using a lot thanks to the slew of new books, infomercials, and movies that proclaim that nothing is earned and nothing is worked for, rather things "manifest" in one's life - as long as they "ask" or "think" the right things. Want a car? Visualize it. Think about it. Feel it. And then ... *BAM* ... It will "manifest" in your life. How about a million dollars? No problem! Once again, visualize it and feel it, and then ... *P
