How Does Scrum Work?
A Scrum team generally consists of cross-functional members. This means that each team member has a specific set of skills and expertise. Traditionally, the team includes a product owner, a Scrum Master, and a team of developers.
- Product owner - The product owner is responsible for defining the goals of the project and the product itself. He or she decides what the team should build, and what is and isn’t a part of the project’s goals. The product owner is not responsible for building the product; that’s the team’s job. The product owner’s main focus is on making sure the project as a whole is successful.
- Scrum Master - The Scrum Master’s job is to keep the team on track and productive. He or she makes sure the team is following the correct process and is moving towards their goals.
- Team - The team is the group of individuals who build the product or complete the project. Members of the team are cross-functional; they each have specific skills that are necessary to build the product successfully.
