I was talking with someone the other day who was telling me how upset he was because he had to wake up 10 minutes earlier in the morning. He told me that the line at the coffee shop (Tim Hortons) was getting longer and longer and he couldn't afford to arrive late at work anymore...

It's funny because this person is actually using two of the 6 secrets of success that I teach my members (check out my site for more information www.cheerstothegoodlife.com) and he doesn't even realize it. He's actually taking action and changing the way he thinks in order to get his coffee!

Taking acting = Waking up earlier and changing his routine to get his coffee

Changing the way he thinks = realizing, reminding and repeating to himself that he needs to wake up early in order to get his coffee. (But this particular person is not doing this very well… keep on reading to find out)

Now a lot of people actually do take actions but they don't necessarily change the way they think in order to find success! Changing the way you think is not an easy subject to understand but this is the most important secret to success. And this is also the most difficult secret to success to understand and to implement. Once you do learn to control your mind you'll be able to achieve anything you want in life.

Let's come back to the person that has to wake up early to get his coffee. Unfortunately this person is not using the "changing your way of thinking" secret properly. I know I told you that he is doing it but not in the right way. And here's why, from the start he is complaining and giving excuses why doing this is not fun. And because of this, the odds are he is going to quit waking up early and he is going to keep on arriving late at work (and maybe even get fired).

Understand this, nobody is telling him to drink coffee. He's telling himself that he has to drink coffee. And he is actually getting mad at himself for the decision that he is taking. If he actually took a moment to think about what he was doing maybe he wouldn't complain as much...

To change the way you think, you need to write down all the things you love to do and place the piece of paper in a strategic place so you can see it on a regular basis. And to utilise this practise to the fullest, you should wake up 5 minutes earlier so you can recite it and visualise yourself doing what you love!

If it's playing golf than see yourself on the green putting for a birdie, if it's riding a motorcycle than see yourself riding on a beautiful sunny day, you get the idea...

Again by doing this, you are slowly "changing the way you think" and understanding the actions you are taking. When you are focused on your goals, there is less time to complain.

Before you start complaining with what I just told you to do, I just want to tell you that the most successful people in the world wake up very early in the morning: Donald Trump, Oprah Winfrey, Lance Armstrong, Olympic athletes, etc. Yes they are big action takers but they also have learned to change the way they think to achieve success.

Now's the time for you to do the same, now's the time for you to change the way you think!

Cheers to Your Good Life
