Having fear is a normal part of our lives; we can feel that our heart palpitations fast, jelly legs, intense sweating, dry throat and restricted vision or hearing. In this sense, anxiety is very useful. It warns us when there have danger. This is very normal. Sensible people take a precaution to avoid dangers, being hurt or injured by the things that are really dangerous. Butwhen we say phobia, it’s a disorder in which body reacts in the same way, and feels the same anxiety and fear but in the situations that totally safe and nothing to be feared of. It lost of all sense of proportion, and always thinking of danger at the least little thing. ‘Vehophobia’ is one kind of phobia. It’s also known as driving phobia. Having a driving phobia is likely to be adverse in the life of once person because it will stop him from going to places that he need to beor can even interfere with jobs requiring driving as a part of his job. If this phobia controlling and preventing you from the things that you need to do, you must face and overcome this phobia.
I have some tips to help you overcome vehophobia. Here are the following:
 Find the cause of your fear – It’s good to know what the cause of your phobia, it is useful to help you to start overcoming your fear although it isn’t vital, it’s still part of a broader anxiety problem.
 Seek an Advice and Help – it’s really difficult to overcome phobia in your own, especially when your phobia rooted deeply in you and grow over the period of time, but if you seek help and advice, it will be treated easily. Try to see doctor and discuss to him what is your feeling, by that he will give you advices on how to treat your phobia. Talking about your phobia is the key of facing it; at least it helps to minimize your fear or anxiety
 Exposure Treatment – It’s good to exposed yourself in driving, try and try until your fear in driving fade away. Consider driving school or defensive driving classesto expose you in driving and try the following stages bellow.
Stage 1: Sit in the car with the engine running.
Stage 2: Try to drive a few yards up the road.
Stage 3: Drive round the block, then park, switch off, etc.
Stage 4: Take a slightly longer trip with a companion to support you.
Stage 5: Take the same trip without the companion.
Stage 6: Take a still longer trip.
--If you did the first stage successfully, try the second stage and so on until you practice all stages.
 Practice mindfulnesswith calming buddy– After you did all stages above, Try to drive in trapping road such us motor way don’t mind your fear, and find a calming buddy,it will be a great help to stay you relax in your driving and especially in forays of busier traffic.
Remember that phobia only exists in your mind, don’t let this phobia enslave and control your life, you have to stop it and live a normal life. It will be done if you have strong determination to face your fears!!
