IBS is a challenging condition that is known as irritable bowel syndrome. Most of the IBS patients lose hope & think that they will not get proper relief. But this is not true. This disease affects the whole of the large intestine. The patients with IBS have signs & symptoms like abdominal pain, gas, bloating, diarrhea, abdominal cramps, general weakness, weight loss, anemia, mucus in stools, fatigue, & sometimes constipation. This disease is due to an improper diet, stress, & sedentary lifestyle. Both males and females are under the influence of this disease.

IBS patients took lots of allopathic medicines but not got any proper relief. But instead of any treatment start with home remedies that provide relief from signs & symptoms related to these patients. The various home remedies that will give effective results are mentioned below in detail:

1) Aloe Vera: This is one of the herbs used in IBS patients for relieving the abdominal pain, bloating, cramps, flatulence, & constipation. Aloe vera is rich in all nutrients & vitamins.

How to use: Take the pulp of aloe vera leaves and eat it once daily. You can also have 20 ml of aloe vera juice mixed with an equal amount of water early in the morning on an empty stomach.

2) Amla: It is also known as Indian Gooseberry and rich in vitamins. The antioxidant & anti-inflammatory nature of this herb removes all toxins & reduces inflammation of the intestines. This herb improves the overall digestion in the body & acts as a laxative.

How to use: Eat a fresh fruit of amla juice daily or take 20 ml of amla juice by adding an equal amount of water in it. Drink its juice early in the morning on an empty stomach.

3) Green Coconut Water: Green coconut water contains potassium, sodium, & most minerals. This water is high in calories that increase the weight of IBS patients. Daily use of coconut water improves general weakness & fatigue conditions.

How to use: Drink green coconut water once or twice daily as per requirement.

4) Noni: Noni herb (Morinda citrifolia) is rich in soluble fiber that makes stool softer in IBS condition. It contains essential vitamins & minerals that make your intestines healthy by reducing the strain on your intestines.

How to use:

1. You can eat the fruit of Noni herb.
2. Now Noni capsules are also available in the market you can have them once or twice daily.
3. Drink Noni juice as it is also beneficial in IBS conditions.

5) Bilva: Bilva herb (Aegle marmelos) shows antibacterial, antidiarrheal, antimicrobial, antispasmodic, carminative, digestive stimulant, antiflatulent properties. It pacifies the vata dosha in the body. This herb is equally beneficial for IBS patients that are facing the problem of loose stools & constipation. Bilva herb helps in maintaining digestion, reduces abdominal pain, cramps, constipation, & loose stools.

How to use:

1.Eat a ripe fruit of Bilva daily in summers.
2. Bilva juice is good for IBS patients have it once or twice daily.
3. Bilva churna is also available in the market you can have one teaspoonful once or twice daily.

6) Papaya: The fruit of papaya contains enzyme papain that makes easier digestion. Other signs & symptoms related to IBS patients are treated with the use of papaya. This fruit is rich in fiber & other contents.

How to use:

1. Eat papaya fruit daily as it is very good for IBS patients.
2. Unripe fruit of papaya can be used in your cuisines.

7) Tragacanth Gum: This gum acts as a cooling agent that relieves constipation related to IBS patients. Tragacanth gum is tasteless, odorless, & water soluble derived from the sap of the plant Tragacanth and after that dried.

How to use: Take one-fourth teaspoonful of Tragacanth gum mix it in a glass of water. Soak it overnight and early in the morning eat this mixture on an empty stomach.

8) Carrot: Carrot is rich in soluble fibre that helps the colon to work naturally. The increased fibre will help IBS patients to get relief from constipation. This vegetable will maintain proper digestion, reduces pain, diarrhea, & anemia in IBS patients.

How to use:

1. Take one cup of carrot juice daily prepared at home.
2. Eating raw carrot is also good as it will remove constipation.
3. You can use carrot as a vegetable for cooking purposes.

9) Coriander: This herb give good results in problems like upset stomach, diarrhea, constipation, bloating, nausea, etc related to IBS patients. Coriander herb acts as an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, etc. It provides cooling effect on the body.

How to use:

1. Take one teaspoonful of fresh coriander juice once or twice daily.
2. You can also prepare a decoction. Take one teaspoonful of dry coriander seeds put it in a glass of water. Boil this mixture until remaining half cup. Strain the mixture and drink this decoction once or twice daily.

10) Fennel: Fennel is the best herb provided in nature that shows a cooling & calming effect on the body. This is a carminative herb that improves the digestion of an individual. The antioxidant nature of this herb removes toxins. It reduces pain, inflammation, & swelling in IBS patients.

How to use:

1. Take one teaspoonful of fennel seeds powder with a glass of water once or twice daily.
2. You can also boil one teaspoonful of fennel seeds in a glass of water until remaining half. Strain the mixture & drink it once or twice daily for reducing gas & abdominal pain.
