Do you secretly hate your work? Are you in a job where you are unfulfilled, or even worse? Are you working your precious time and life away wondering: Is this all there is?

Are you in a position where you are making good, or a lot of money, but you realize that the money doesn’t bring you the happiness you thought you’d feel? In some ways, it’s even harder to leave a well-paid job when you don’t know how you are going to make as much money in a new job as you will need to pay the bills!

Then there are people who are suffering from burnout: did you go into a field or work as an idealist, and now you have overworked to the point where the job is now causing you illness, pain, heartache: with both physical and emotional symptoms!

When you life is spent in a pursuit that doesn’t fill you needs, you are out of alignment. That means your head (thoughts), heart (emotions) are having an disagreement; and the result is your body is going to give you the evidence with symptoms of dis-ease, or pain.

When you ignore the lack of alignment in your thoughts/emotions, your body won’t stop giving you the message that something is wrong. In fact, the symptoms will get worse, until you have a SERIOUS illness: a heart attack, ulcers, stroke….? All of these disorders are linked to stress, and stress is a result of being unhappy at what is happening in your life.

When you have physical symptoms, many people don’t want to believe that they are related to the lack of alignment in thoughts and feelings. Instead, are you taking medication to make the pain go away? Perhaps drinking or drugging, or eating yourself into a place where you don’t have to think (in front of the TV?)You’ll have to continue a lot more of this UNTIL YOU CHANGE THE CAUSE OF THE PAIN, AND CHANGE YOUR SITUATION. It’s time to make the transition!

What’s holding you back from living the kind of life you want? Are you like a deer caught in the headlights, afraid to go forward, backward, and you are just transfixed and stuck where you are. It’s not safe there either!
Transitioning means moving from one situation that is not meeting your needs to something new. But fear can be preventing you from even considering that change, and it is at your peril that you continue where you are staying.

F E A R = False Evidence Appearing Real

There are lots of “buts”, excuses, reasons why you “should”, “can’t” and “don’t” change. However, when you are in an unhappy situation, your brain isn’t thinking properly. It’s hard to even assess your options. You don’t think clearly. Your mind is wrapped up in the reasons “why you can’t”, while your heart is probably singing like a bird that wants to fly out of it’s cage!

A good EFT coach can help you to examine your possibilities and gain clarity by breaking through the grasp of fear. EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) is a fast, self administered, and lasting method of shifting the emotions of anxiety and worry that are holding you back. Being afraid skews your focus, and it makes it hard to see solutions. EFT will astonish you completely. You will “know it in your heart” when you can evaluate your situation fully, not with the one sided answer of “NO, I can’t….”

Once you can think clearly, options become visible, and then taking small steps towards those new goals build a momentum. You will feel an amazing lightness and optimism and confidence to replace that dark negativity. You will be able to discover your life’s purpose that will brings joy to your life. When you are living your purpose, work is not drudgery, and becomes a positive event in your life that you look forward to performing!
For some people, living their purpose by doing volunteer work fills the gap and give them a new joy in their lives. Many people use this as a transitional place; trying out the new work, and then developing the courage to move out of the old and into the new.

Confidence replaces fear as you move forward in small steps. Just that forward motion can bring hope for your future. There are no guarantees in life, and change is inevitable. The only thing you can really control is your attitude about the change. Don’t let fear rule your life. As the wise words of Winston Churchill counsel: “We have nothing to fear, but fear itself!” Start living your life with confidence!
