Win Back Your Ex – What NOT to do

Going through a breakup can be tough for anyone especially if you’re the one who was left. Your first natural reaction would be to sulk in misery asking yourself what you did wrong to have driven your partner away. Then, you are convinced to win him or her back lest it will be the end of you. So you do everything in your power to get your ex back. Stop right there. Before you make any dangerous decisions read on and inform yourself on what NOT to do to win back your ex.

The first mistake is trying to convince your ex to come back to you by using logic. Sure you can persuade yourself out of a relationship with all the reasons you can think of but this won’t work the other way around. You can’t just present reasons on why you should be loved, cared for and needed by another. That’s not how love works. Instead, what you need to do is NOT give him or her a reason why you two should get back together again but SHOW IT. Show you’re ex what he or she is missing! But don’t overdo it, which leads us to the second mistake: Being the goody two-shoes.

Showing that you’re too nice will just lead you downhill with your relationship. Why you ask? Any good story involves a problem. Conflict is one of the key ingredients to a lasting relationship. Even movies and novels wouldn’t be interesting without conflict. This doesn’t mean you initiate an argument any chance you get. But be sure to make a stand. Put your foot down and add that much needed spark your ex has been longing for. Otherwise, consider yourself BORING.

One really – excuse my French – stupid mistake people do to win back their ex is by bombarding them with gifts like flowers and chocolates. Really, I don’t see the point why people waste their time and money to buy these things when clearly love can’t be bought. It even sends a wrong message. That is that you think your ex is easy enough to be wood with material things. Also that your qualities aren’t good enough for him or her which gives your ex more reason to NOT get back with you. Point is, steer clear of these gifts.

Another thing you must not overdo is those three words that used to music to the ears of you and your partner; “I love you.” Say this too much and you might as well go find someone else to say this to. If you think that saying “I love you” over and over will win your ex back think again. This won’t prove that they should come back to you this will even scare them away. You will only come off as needy and pathetic so save the mushy stuff for later and focus on the goal: win back your ex.

The last and most pitiful mistake is by being the martyr. It’s just too depressing to watch. Someone pleading their ex to take them back by offering to do “anything” is just plain sad. This could even turn out dangerous for you and you will most definitely end up being hurt. You are offering to be used by your ex and when he or she finds something better, you’re gone. This isn’t worth any of your efforts so forget it. Go the other way and play hard to get. Make your partner WANT you.
