Today, I want to talk to you about the inner game of client attraction. The marketing piece of client attraction is considered the outer game. It is what you do, it is the actions that you take, figuring out who your ideal client is and getting out there in a big way and all that good stuff. And then there is the inner game.
Testimonials are my favorite low-cost and high-impact Client Attraction tools. Getting testimonials from clients is a crucial element of your marketing plan and become a powerful tool for acquiring new clients. Best of all, testimonials do the ‘selling’ for you, even when you’re not around.
Wouldn’t it be great if you could find your ideal clients all in one place? What if they were gathered together for you? That would sure make marketing a heck of a lot easier wouldn’t it? The good news is that this is completely possible! There are two basic ways to find your ideal clients and both methods work really well. 1. Find ways to pull your ideal clients toward you, inexpensively and in large numbers.
Many people who are trying to get a new business rolling, struggle with what needs to get done first. Some will say that establishing branding is the most important step, with the name and tagline all flushed out. Others will lean towards figuring out the content. I hear this question a lot from clients who are getting started and I can tell you that the experts don’t necessarily agree.
Information products are a great way to set yourself up as an expert and build trust – as well as build your revenues. Here are three different information products you can create to share your knowledge with prospects at different levels.
Recently a student told me how she had a lot of fear about her small business and how to get clients. She had an enormous number of opportunities coming her way, but she felt afraid to take any action. That fear made her feel like a failure and unworthy of such opportunity. As a result she was paralyzed – she couldn’t seem to take the next step on anything.
I can’t honestly remember where and when I first heard about the Know-Like-and-Trust Factor (who knows, I probably think I invented it! Ha!) It just works so well that you too will want to apply it to your way of doing everything from now on. OK, so what is this Know-Like-Trust Factor and why is it so crucial to effective Client Attraction and networking?
Are you struggling with picking a single niche and considering going for two (or more) targets? This is a common problem my clients come to me with. For example, at a networking event, you‘ll need to hand out two cards and that leaves people confused about where to put you and who you serve. Rather than make your life hard, I suggest you look at both niches and think about which one fits with who you are and connects to your passion.

I find that a lot of entrepreneurs, people like you and me, once they learn how to put in place a client attraction system, it’s all about getting new prospects, getting new leads. Then when they have the new prospects and the new leads, they just don’t do much with them.
Recently, one of my clients was expressing her conce over how she earns money. She realized she has limited how much money she can make by relying solely on one-on-one clients and small groups. Until now, she has preferred to work with one person at a time or even small groups to keep the activity hands on with lots of personal attention. That does limit her income because there are only so many hours in a day where she trades hours for dollars. To earn more, she’ll need to reach more people at the same time.
Now, before you point the finger at me for bashing ALL things about what you already know about networking, let me say there is ONE thing that I believe in very strongly that past networking experts talk about over and over again. Getting LOTS of people in your network. The more people you know, and the more people know YOU, the more likely you are to attract LOTS of new clients through networking and referrals.
Today’s topic is something that people ask me about all the time. What do you do when all this stuff that I’ve been teaching works and you get to full practice capacity? You can’t take on any more clients without pulling your hair out and there’s just no more ‘you’ to go around. The first thing you can do is create a waiting list.
