Moreover, the greatest negative feature of this teenag
Do you ever find yourself getting more and more angry and frustrated while trying to explain what is bothering you? Perhaps you feel like others are not really listening to you or trying to understand things from your perspective. In such circumstances, you may end up raising your voice or becoming verbally or even physically abusive.
Think about the last time you got angry. Example #1: Maybe, you were driving and another driver cut in front of you. If you immediately got angry, made an obscene gesture, or used language you wouldn’t want your five year old to repeat, it is safe to say that you reacted to the situation. When you act without thinking, you are reacting. Reacting often leads to regret for having done something you later wish you had avoided.
Many people have had the experience of anger that goes out of control. What mechanisms are at work when anger turns to blinding rage? Researchers have termed this kind of response as reactive aggression and discovered that when one is engulfed in a rage reaction, the thinking part of the brain is not functioning well (Tyson, 1998). When a person experiences a reaction to what they perceive to be a frustration or a threat, the body prepares for action, not thought.
Alcohol has several negative effects not he human body, most of which won't harm the individual who has a drink on occasion, as long as that occasion isn't every night. Alcohol is a silent killer because it works inside with no apparent harm until it's too late.
Divorce - it's a word that makes me cringe every time I hear it. Mine was thirty-two years ago (not of my choosing) and was one of the most painful periods of my life. Two people brought together in love take a sacred vow to love, honor, and cherish one another for ete ity. No one ever says, "Till I get tired of you" or "Until you become too much work" or "Unless I find someone better." If that were the case, I dare to say few couples would choose to tie the knot.
When most people think of DIY, they conjure up projects that are either crafty or perhaps an outlet for personal talents. Most people really don’t usually consider self-improvement as a DIY project. And realistically, that’s exactly what self-improvement is all about. When we look at situations within our lives and decide we would like to make improvements within some of these areas, we often look to many different sources.
The other night I was having a little bit of an "off" day. I had a feeling of frustration and anger that was lingering inside me that I couldn't seem to shake off. It was really affecting my interactions with people, friends, family, and my pets. This is something that tends to happen to us from time to time. We're human, we get angry sometimes. The key however, is knowing when you need to take a moment to relax your mind and calm yourself, before you do anything which you w
There are many sides to the issue of credit. This can be a huge conce for some, as the ego has a tendency to want to take credit for everything and then moves us into feeling guilty. This cycle is known as the “Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda” syndrome. If we are avoiding accepting credit it is an indication that we aren’t confident in our abilities. Some may interpret that by accepting credit that it is an indication that something is owed. And yet when we discard or reject receiving recognition for a job well-done, it’s only because we are in fear.
Consider the following scenario: you and your neighbor engage in a political discussion. After a few moments, it becomes apparent that the two of you have serious disagreements about the upcoming presidential elections. Being equally as passionate about your positions, the debate quickly becomes heated. You, a more confident narrator, have more specific points to back up your statements. Her frustration is evidence that she is feeling somewhat at a disadvantage. Try as she will, she realizes she cannot compete with one as knowledgeable and confident as you.

These feelings can be compounded by the stress that is an unfortunate component of our lives.

If you feel angry, you have two ordinary alternatives. You can suppress anger or you can express it, right? If the situation allows, you express anger. And if the situation doesnât allow, you suppress anger. Either you are forcing the energy of anger outwards to the person insulting you or you are forcing the energy inside. The ordinary advice âDonât be angryâ works only theoretically. It doesnât work at all in your everyday life. How not to be angry? Anger starts a

The mind will sputter a split second before it starts to reel off a list of why it’s smart to be bothered. Here is one right off the bat. If I’m not bothered by that, how will it ever change?
We all encounter angry people in every walk of life. Some will confront them, others avoid them like the plague. There are times when either approach is acceptable. I do not like drama. However, I am conce ed about others when they appear upset. And I am very knowledgeable as to how to help them. After all, I've been doing this professionally for twenty years.
Well, this is the final article of a three-part series on the role of anger in the occurrence and perpetuation of panic attacks and anxiety. Each one of my children threw one temper tantrum in their lives. As with all toddlers, overwhelming frustration can lead to a meltdown of epic proportions. I was not the kind of mother who would wait patiently until them calmed down. Not me! I walked right up to them, grabbed their shoulders, put my face squarely in front of theirs, and in a stern, no nonsense voice of imposing authority informed them that there was no way in Heaven I was going to put up with their screaming, stomping, body-slamming fits of rage.

You work hard to please the people you love. You long to see a smile on their faces. You hope that you have brought them joy. You want them to come alive because of your thoughts and actions. You imagine the scene over and over and it makes you fill up with desire and motivation to do that one extra thing, to go that one extra mile. But you get a mild if ‘blah’ response. Disappoint deflates you. All that motivation to work hard to make your loved ones happy dissipates. You are left empty, tired and unrewarded.
Personality disorders can be difficult to handle and very dangerous. A person suffering from a personality disorder will tend to have strange or unusual behavior. This behavior might be manifested by poor or inaccurate response, lack of insight, causing trouble for and disturbing people around them and so on. Often people with such disorders are difficult to trust and maintain a relationship with. Family members or loved ones often have to identify the problem for the person because they are unaware of it. Therapy and sometimes medication is mandatory for recovery.
Jesus got angry. He was troubled by the many injustices he encountered while on Earth. At times, he expressed his dismay to those around Him. Anger, as with all emotions, has a place and purpose. But how does one know if there is too much anger in their lives? Here are ten warning signs to gauge if your anger levels exceed what is considered safe and healthy: 1. Frequency: how often do you get angry? Rarely, every day, several times a day, or are you always upset? One who flies off the handle at the drop of a hat needs to get to the root of their issues.
Anger in mums is universal. If you were to ask any mother they would more often then not tell you that motherhood has brought up some unwanted anger issues. Sometimes it feels as if anger creeps up on you from behind, and over silly things too. I mean how important is a bit of food up your walls, or some water spilt onto the bathroom floor? Why does it matter that your child is running off giggling and playing games when you are trying to get them dressed? When we have finis
Life doesn't always turn out the way we'd like. When situations take an unfavorable turn, we become upset, frustrated, or angry. When others don't agree with us, live their life the way we think they should, or act in a manner we find disturbing, anger is a typical response. With the exception a few extreme circumstance, an angry reaction rarely improves the situation or endears us to the other party.
What’s needed right now is optimism. What’s missing in the world right now is optimism. Almost everyone has chosen pessimism. That’s why things are going down. It’s easy to see. Most everyone is thinking pessimistically. What’s going on reflects their pessimism. That is, there’s more and more for pessimistic people to be pessimistic about. How could it be anything else? How could thinking everything is bad lead to good? How does nervousness and anxiety lead to peace and calm?r
Everyone seems to understand the destructive power of anger. Thatâs because everyone equates anger with aggressive behavior, and aggressive behavior hurts people. Once we are injured by someone who is angry, it is an easy next step to thinking it is the anger that injures us. Anger, however, is only an emotion. It takes a person to change the emotion into an aggressive behavior. nnEmotions take place in our bodies and minds, in an interactive manner. When trying to understa

They all complained about the daily gossip that ran rampant among them. Every one participated in it yet ironically no one could understand why they would be targeted. In the fifteen years I worked at the battered women's shelter, both staff and residents criticize those who engaged in rumors while also being the first to initiate the next juicy scandal. Any one of them could have had a successful career as a reporter for the National Inquirer. However, should their ears heed disparaging words about themselves, all hell would break loose. A verbal confrontation could easily turn physical.

I admire women who return to school in midlife. Mothers, wives and business women who volunteer and care for their elderly parents, their days are already filled to capacity, their lives overflowing with responsibilities. Yet they seek out the best colleges with the most stringent requirements and toughest courses knowing that that is what it takes to succeed. They willingly forego the luxuries of life knowing the end result will surely benefit them.

Each of these people, at the critical moment, pushes a big button with the word, âEasyâ written on it,

She is well-known for her strong opinions and feelings. Last week was no exception.
One of my clients complained that her boyfriend had an annoying habit of constantly chewing gum. It drove her crazy! "Aside from that, he's perfect." she exclaimed. "But how do I get him to stop? He knows it bugs me yet he continues to do it. He says he's not doing anything wrong and then accuses me of nagging! Can you believe it? If I was doing something that bothered him, I'd stop because I love him. Why won't he do that for me?"
