âYou know what you gotta do when life gets you down? Just keep swimmingâ rn-Dory, Finding Nemo In life, it is inevitable that we encounter bumps in the road. Most of the crowning achievements known to man came to fruition through persistence and determination. It is always those who believe so strongly in their dreams and their visions that see the day they manifest into realities. And to believe in something that strongly means you believe in it in the best of times AND

"The creative is the place where no one else has ever been. You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition. What you'll discover will be wonderful. What you'll discover is yourself!" - Alan Alda Since I was a little boy I like to spend a lot of time under the shower; sitting or lying down to...THINK! Yes, Iâm a genuine shower thinker; I tend to get my best ideas and insights under the shower! Every morning I meditate, prepare for the
How do we identify the mind in the formation of our reality? Many people question whether such a thing exists, a place separate from the brain that would be identified as the mind. It is one of the greatest looming question marks, especially when it comes to the practical methods of our now ...
Jerry was born to fly. From the time he was little, when his mother pushed him from the nest, Jerry loved to soar through the air. Up and down, high and low, Jerry spend his days gliding gracefully in the sky. One day Jerry met Steve. Steve was different from Jerry. Steve loved to climb trees. Steve had spent his whole life climbing up and down every tree he could find. It could even be said the Steve may well have been the best tree climber ever.
I’m working on taking care of myself. In little things; in big things. I seek ways to gently inspire myself to keep moving forward. I do so in ways that allow for gently caring for me. I’m searching out tiny ways of continually improving at taking care of my needs. At the same time, I seek to keep moving forward in all the ways I want to grow. Along the way, I’ve noticed that each little way I nurture myself helps me in many ways. For example, nurturing myself tends to b
In part one of this article, I spoke about why we should change our parenting mindset. How it will help us to control our reactions to situations. But how can we change our parenting mindset?
Tradition is good but there are times when it just doesn’t help anything at all. We must learn how to keep it in its proper place and not allow it to rule our lives. There is nothing wrong with observing traditions but the human tendency is to become blinded by them.
"...Inner happiness actually is the fuel for success" Dr, John Hagelin You might feel like you are doing and thinking the right things- maybe you have a goal poster, affirmations, a strong vision, and you are action oriented- but you have some goals that seem to remain elusive. There are a few things you can consider- one is that the joy and happiness needs to be in place first- two is that you may have a limiting belief in play (I am not worthy, I don't deserve this, etc),and three - you may need to expand your capacity to receive.
I once heard a commercial with the following line: “The precision of the cut is what brings out the greatest beauty of the diamond.” We are all ‘diamonds in the rough’ if you will, allowing God/Spirit/Infinite Love to sculpt our lives and our spirits to bring out the greatest beauty that Infinite Love can express in each of us. What a wonderful thing to know that all of the things we think seem to take forever, and so we become impatient, are done that way so that the precision can be maintained, thus revealing our greatest beauty hidden within.
There was a mental exercise that I used to do which was interesting and intriguing to say the least. I thought that it was beneficial in helping me to improve my own frame of mind. I’ll tell you about it and let you make the decision for yourself.
He said he doesnât recall the last time he worked a 40 hour week because he works 18 hour days. (!) He went on to explain that he often spends entire days, one after the other, trying to write a song, and turning up nothing. But then one day a hit (such as Her Diamonds, Push, Lonely No More) is there. He admits itâs the work before the hit that enables a hit to be born. The article quoted visual artist Chuck Close as saying, âInspiration is for amateurs.â Wow. âInsp

It's true. Orchestra conductors live longer than almost any other group of people by three to seven years. Many great conductors have even led major orchestras into their nineties.nnThere are a number of theories about this...nnSome contend that the cardiovascular exercise from repetitive arm-waving, coupled with the increased cognitive activity and focus required by the job are the reason. nnOthers say the ongoing immersion in positive, mood-enhancing/alpha-wave producing rh
Now it is vital that you be truly you; influenced only by you. You need to express yourself as you, by you and for you. No holds barred. Like so many of us, perhaps you were programmed early on to say "Yes" even when you would rather say "No." You feel guilty, as if you are letting people down just by saying "No." Yet, you continue to tie yourself up with obligations to other people. Do not forget the ultimate value of your time, the obligation you owe yourself to fully express your truth. It is of critical importance that you begin to say "Yes" when you mean yes and "No" when you mean no.
A few days ago, I was speaking with a co-worker about miracle consciousness. My full time job is as a social worker on an in-patient psychiatric unit. Every day, I meet with people whose souls have been wounded by abuse, illness and addictions. They sit in my office with its wall-to-wall ...
There are some things that you can't learn in high school. Someone has to tell you these stuff and help you realise the truth. I decided to help with a few things that I've learned from a lecture by Bill Gates. You can choose if you want to believe them or not, but trust me â I know what I'm saying! So here we go... Welcome to the real life! 1.Love is not fair! Get used to this. Your friend may be not as good as you, for example. Maybe he will be the worst student ever, but
One of the hardest parts of using recycled products in everyday life is coming up with ideas and inspiration. If you need some ideas on how to use the old items around your home, one of the best places to head is the local craft store. nnAt the local craft store you may see many examples of creative recycling and some great ideas for reusing old items. In fact, some of the most stunning crafts are made from recycled items. Just take a look at the items available in the local
Life is a many splendid things. Yet many people travel through their lives not experiencing the very best that life has to offer. They have no idea or concept about how magnificent life can be. One of the numerous reasons for this behavior and mindset is that many people do not look forward to experiencing the very best life has to offer, is due to their very low expectations for themselves and life in general.
I propose that your resolutions include tying up lose ends, finishing up with old projects. It is a bit daunting to embark on new projects with old ones lingering.
Many of you want to be successful and have the fame, and recognition that comes with it. However, an ongoing dream fatigues by knocking you down after seeing minimal or no results. âWhy bother?â You might ask. Itâll be nice to achieve that one thing in life, but you will not succeed by being indecisive and changing paths all the time. rn rnFiguring out your goal will give you breath in life. Work for a goal that is a complete expression of who you are. Your true self. F
Do you Prepare for your Upcoming Day The key to having as smooth a day as possible is being prepared for the challenges that it will bring. The worst thing that you can ever do is to procrastinate when you have an upcoming task. There is always something that you can and need to do in order to be ready for it when it comes.
One of my favorite books is Eat, Pray, Love, and I was so excited to see the movie, which just came out. What made it a real treat was that I went to the opening day with a group of women from Ladies Who Launch. Afterward, we gathered together to discuss the movie and what it awakened in each of us for our own lives. What does this have to do with business (besides the fact that I saw the movie on opening a day with a group of business women)? Through these three areas of Eat
Last weekend, families in the United States celebrated Mother's Day. I actually just learned that some 70 countries celebrate Mother's Day on the second weekend of May. Of course, in those families that forgot to get a present, the refrain is, “Every day is Mother's Day!” And every mother would like to believe that every day is Mother's Day. So how can we do that? What would that look like?r
When I think my life is hard and I want to quit, or just feel sorry for myself, I try to think of people like Aimee Mullins. Who is Aimee Mullins? Aimee is a double leg amputee. She lost both her legs in childhood to a genetic disease. As an adult she is a recognized athlete, model, actress and activist. And this beauty has brains. She graduated from Georgetown University with a double major in history and diplomacy and is a tireless advocate for the disabled. She has been na
Let’s pretend we understand men for a minute. Think about what they must contend with conce ing the female species. Women are emotional, whiny, catty, fickle, too sensitive, and all-over-the-place in the thought process. We get headaches, complain, and we’re complicated. We encircle way too ...
Self control is never talked about much in this society, but it isrnnecessary in order to be a success in life. We must master self control techniques and learn how to apply them to our lives. This isrnnot optional for success it is a must. I can name several areas in my own life where I had to learn how to apply self control to help me to do better in life. One of those areas was fiscal responsibility. I used to spend every dime that I had in my pocket whenever I went shopping. I realized that I had a problem and I had to come up with a solution. My solution
It's been a little over 17 months since I decided to change my life completely and work full time at my passion of photography. In that time I have attracted many more wonderful things into my life tha I ever thought possible. I have won awards for my photography nationally and internationally ...
I like to think that I am the designer of my life. However, I have learned that most of my thoughts are programmed by my unconscious mind. I simply replay the same beliefs and values that my unconscious mind downloaded from events that occurred before the age of seven. Of course, as Morty Lefgoe says, it is not the criticism or judgment by our friends, parents, or people in authority, that causes us to be afraid to take risks or to feel that we are not good enough. It is the interpretation we gave to these events.
Prejudices are created out of the inability to accept change and difference. Life is but a myriad of structures which we order to feel comfortable within our own personal environment and for various survival reasons. We associate our relationship with the world through our bodies and the ...
2009 is already moving so fast. Here we are already in February and getting close to Valentine's day. This is about the time when some of us get discouraged and just want to give up on our goals and dreams. However, this is the perfect time to pick up those dreams, dust them off, and really ...
Wisdom is honorable but wisdom on steroids is unbeatable. We know that the definition of wisdom is the application of knowledge but when you add some steroids to the wisdom that you have you become like Neo in the matrix. When Neo figured out the deal he was able to get inside of the bad guys and fight his way back out. Rather than just reacting to what they were doing in his own strength he added some steroids to what he knew and figured out how the program ran. Once he got it and the light bulb turned on in his mind he was a sure fire winner. Why, because he had supercharged his wisdom.
When was the last time that you went to the grocery store, airport, video store, bank, or any other place where you are “waited on”, and the person working behind the counter failed to say, “hello” and “thank you”? Sadly, I bet it wasn’t long ago. ...
Life is a work in progress that never is complete. We learn a different lesson from each experience we meet. We learn the joy of living-of what a heart is for. We learn that through our struggles we are stronger than before. We learn the thrill of victory-the pain of a defeat. We learn to win the battle we must first learn to compete. We learn from our reactions to the things we can’t control-there are times we should hang in there and times we should let go. And if we keep on learning-if the truth we try to find- The wisdom of the ages teaches-r
Around 1994 my life was changed by a book called Spiritual Politics. It helped me see the big picture of global conflicts and gave me an elevated view of what was happening. It delivered a fascinating analysis of the cosmic, karmic and metaphysical reasons behind politics, world affairs and current events. It revealed that I had to work on myself to make a difference in the outer world. Itâs a large, detailed, and exhaustive work on the hidden reasons behind the superficial
I started my day this morning pretty much the same way I always do; I take a couple turns at the snooze alarm, get up and make coffee, walk my dogs and then check my email. Pretty standard stuff, but this morning I received an email that got me thinking (go figure right?). It was a message through Facebook. Carolyn Hurley, my second grade teacher in Buffalo NY, had let me know that she finally posted her picture! I couldn’t wait to log on and see it. And there she was, the s
Isn't it strange, how one word has the ability to change the way we approach things? There are 4 kinds of people in this world. The first are the ones who believe, that in order to succeed in life you need to do pure hard work. Then there is this second kind who believe that we need a luck factor to kick in. Then there are those who believe that we need both, good luck and hard work. I think most are familiar with these. But then I recently came across the fourth kind. The pe
I have just began teaching Reiki in Mysteries, which I am so happy about as since I shut my shop in London & moved to cornwall, teaching Reiki has been rather difficult. I got an email the other week asking if there was any spaces left on the next Reiki course.
I am struck this week by the realization (again) of how often people do the same things over and over again even if they are not getting a desired result. If you do the same thing? What will you get? The same results. Remember that saying about the definition of insanity- Doing the same things, but expecting different results? I even catch myself doing this sometimes- whether its trying to get my son to keep his room clean or something business related.
Your attitude towards life can make you or break you. Your attitude determines your experience in life. It determines how people respond to you and whether you will be a success or a failure! Now, by your attitude, I mean your disposition towards yourself, other people and things. Let's observe how your attitude affects your life. When you wake up in the morning, do you drag yourself out of bed and moan, "Oh my God, another day. I sure hate to have to go to work. I hate my bo
I am convinced that the most stressful time of the day is between 2 and 4am. What is it about the early morning hours that make all the struggles in life seem insurmountable? There I was, lying wide awake in my bed experience one of the most stressful moments of the week. It was 3:47am, I was awoken out of a pleasant sleep only to turn 17 more hairs on my head grey. You see, for the past year or so of my life the only time I truly experienced peace was when I was unconscious.
The other day I was at a business function and two young males were in attendance. They were dressed crisp and clean. They listened well. They were polite. They waited their turn to interject into the conversation. My overall impression was that it was refreshing to see such professionalism ...
This article is about biblical faith. Faith is so beautiful because it is the thing that makes all things possible. Many people have their own concept of faith but the only true faith is biblical. Faith is the knowledge that God can do whatever he wants to and that he is working in your favor. The bible describes faith as a substance. It is the substance of things not seen, the evidence of things hoped for. When we hope for a thing we believe that it will be physically manifested in our lives. Faith knows beyond the shadow of a doubt that it can be done.
There are many reasons why we have such a high rate of divorce nowadays and no one person can realistically say that he or she can adequately answer that question. I will attempt to make some of my own observations about the situation and back them up with what I perceive to be fact.
Do you remember the movie titled Forrest Gump. His favorite saying was life is like a box of chocolates. In other words life is full of situations and circumstances but you won’t ever know what they are until the time comes. Life is full of surprises. Some of them are good but many are bad. We never know everything that we will encounter in life.
This blog is my point of view on my non-surgical voice repair clients, who lately, I have no lack of... Yes, more and more people are approaching me with various voice disorders (speakers and singers). Some of them have tried everything and have been suffering for years. That category is extremely difficult to attend to. First of all, because they lost the belief that they will ever get better and regain their voice. Some of them have undergone two or three operations an

I once sought perfection in my body; now I seek health and comfort in almost 50-year-old skin; doing my best to age gracefully, and if there are 10 extra pounds and laugh lines, so be it. I once sought perfection in parenting by devouring “how-to” books, until I learned to toss them aside; nnow ...
"Creativity involves breaking out of established patterns in order to look at things in a different way." - Edward de Bono Q. Really, what’s the big deal about being more creative? Why would I want to be? A.
Success is just as much of a pattern as anything else in life is. Many times successful people are not smarter than others, nor do they have more common sense, they just have personal habits which make them successful. As a matter of fact I have seen people who are successful who didn’t really seem to make good decisions most of the time. The key to their success seemed to be that whenever they did make a decision they put it into action.
