I can help people explore any kind of social relationship issue, or any kind of vocational, psychological, spiritual, or societal, issue, e.g., clarifying one's basic goals in life, actualizing one's natural individual potentials, enhancing one's level of creative functioning, marriage counseling, and enhancing other personal social relationships. I will show you how to deal effectively with the necessary challenges of life that one has to face. In the relationship counseling
Do you remember the old adage that states there’s your side, there’s my side and then there’s the truth? If we were totally honest with ourselves, we too could see the truth of any situation. Once we accept that truth, we have the newfound freedom to gain clarity, discover our options and make real choices that are based in reality and not a subjective interpretation of what is. The past no longer runs the show. A world of possibilities opens that we might otherwise have missed.
Do you have a To-Do list that is longer than your arm? Do you look at the list and think, “Wow I have so much to do! Why did I say I’d take on that project for the school?” A lot of people carry around with them a lot of “baggage” or “clutter” in their minds, on lists, in their purses, in their cars, and at home. Many people in today’s hectic world hold onto things that they say they should do but don’t. Whether it’s something that you need to take care of, or a phone call to that friend you had a fight with and want to apologize to.
I was a bit emotional today. My son was scheduled for his 15-month check up tomorrow. His pediatrician calls, and I miss it. I return the call, and luckily I do, because she tells me my son is no longer covered by his insurance. What? I am shocked. As I dial the number to his insurance, I can feel myself begin to panic. Letting your one-year-old's insurance lapse is not something any mom wants to do. A kid should not be without insurance. I explain the situation to the agent who tells me that I can no longer just update his paperwork but now I must file completely over. What the heck?
What’s on my mind or what’s on my TV? Both! It’s the US Open and the biggest stage for worldwide tennis there is. I’m reflecting on my trip to the Open in 2001, just before 9/11 when our world changed so dramatically. That trip combined so many metaphors for life. My goal was to see great matches and meet my favorite player Pat Rafter from Australia. And I did both! What a crazy 3 days in Flushing Meadows, NY – a combination of exhilaration, heat exhaustion (man, it’s humid there) and wonderful tennis! Tennis is an amazing game.
Albert Einstein said that the most important question we will ever ask ourselves is this: “Is this a friendly universe?” I love Einstein! He was a genius. (Actually, he really was a genius!) I also love that question. It helps me put things into perspective. There are so many things that ...
In this crazy world we live in, it is easy to get caught up in the negative turbulence around us. With today’s rate of unemployment, financial markets dropping, and sky-high mortgages, we can easily get caught up in the stresses of life. No matter how chaotic things seem, I know of a “life raft of peace” that we can retreat to whenever we desire. Here is a simple meditation practice that will help you find inner peace and reconnect with what is really important. Imagine what you can attract from this place! 1. Find a room, or a part of a room, where you can have privacy.r
When was the last time you checked the air in the tyres on your car? You may have found one to be lacking or perhaps even a little flat. What prompted you to check them? Many accidents are caused due to underinflated tyres, unfortunately my son can vouch for that. So what has tyres got to do with balance and you? Well as a Life Coach my company symbol represents yin and yang the ancient symbol of balance. That was chosen because I believe balance to be the key to a comfortable ride in life.
An Inner Critic is often an active, vocal member of the community of characters that exists inside each of us. Despite the Inner Critic’s starring role, it can still take some time and practice to distinguish its voice. This aspect of our selves has been providing such a continuous running commentary for so long that it has become an entrenched part of our mental clutter. Once we do start to stand apart from the Inner Critic; to recognize its voice, to focus on its tone and hear its messages, we may well find that the Inner Critic can be a formidable adversary to our personal growth.
Do you think you are being effective at work? While it is common for most of us to believe that we are perfectly effective, this isn’t always the case. In fact, we all have certain strengths and weaknesses that have a direct impact on how we perform at work. If you could tweak some of your skills, you will find that you can be even more effective.
The yelling, screaming, fighting and complete disrespect for our fellow men and women over differing opinions was horrible. The debate over the H.R. 3200 Health Care Bill is emotional, complex and highly controversial. We teach our children how to resolve conflict by listening, understanding, and responding with sound and thoughtful logic. Then we behaved worse than our children ever did. As a country, the United States likes to set the example for the rest of the world. Yet the example we provided was one of our more ridiculous.
How many of you have woken up in random mornings with zero idea on how to spend your day? Or more simple; how many of you can mention at least five real goals that you would like to accomplish within the next year? I am pretty sure that some of you answered yes to the first question while others may are having a hard time answering the second one. If you are one of those people, do not panic, you are not alone. There are many people who unfortunately live their lives without a plan; a plan that in one way or another will help them get where they want to go in life.
"Dwell in possibility." - Emily Dickenso To be truely healthy and fit you need more than just exercise. You need more than just eating the right foods. You need more than just to quit smoking, drinking or drugs. Doing just one of those things will help, but unless you add more changes you ...
When it comes to self-improvement, it is too easy to find advice online or get tips from people you know. The question is always if you could put them into practice. For my part, I should say that it’s always a challenge to follow the advice I give other people on how they can improve their lives. But of course, I make an effort and really try hard to do so every single day. Here’s a list of my favorite self-improvement tips that you can freely use to make positive changes in your life: Always try to have a good start.
These days, there seems to be a lot of discussion in the world about “life purpose”. Certainly, I experience this to be the case in the various circles in which I find myself. Oh, the degree varies; the form and substance of the conversation changes. But the upshot of it all is the same: why am I here on this planet? My guess is that the popularity of this topic stems, at least in part, from the influence of individuals like Oprah, who often talk about discovering their purpose and the resulting sense of joy, fulfillment and excitement that comes from living into that.
I love summertime because of all the simple pleasures and fun you get to have with family and friends. It is a time during the year when you can create wonderful memories and experiences for yourself and your loved ones. Some activities I always look forward to are picnics and barbeques, bike rides in the mountains, parties with friends, time at the pool, evening brisk walks, and last minute get together's.
Do you turn to food when you feel stressed or overwhelmed? Does a bad day at work send you off track with your eating or exercise plan? Does an out-of-control to-do list leave you craving chocolate? There are ways to avoid the stress eating/emotional eating trap. Here are three straightforward strategies you can try. 1. Know that you ARE a stress eater This one sounds like a no-brainer, but it's an important tip.

If you are a busy woman with too much on her plate, you may also be sleep deprived. Whether you are burning the midnight oil, having a hard time shutting down your mind at the end of the day, or staying up late to grab some quiet time (this never really works well by the way), once you are short on sleep, things tend to go downhill. Inadequate sleep impacts your energy and concentration. Did you know that it also leads to overeating and weight gain? If you are sleep deprived, you won’t be at your best. Period. That’s no help when you’re trying to get on top of stress and your goals.
By now, everyone knows that LeBron James, one of the world’s greatest basketball players, has left the Cleveland Cavaliers after 7 years. He’s finally made a decision to make the Miami Heat his new home where he will continue to exercise his passion, energy and talent for the game. LeBron took a lot of “heat” for his decision to leave his home state. You may be asking yourself, “Why should I care?” As I watched the reaction to his decision, it got me thinking about how Smart Women have similar situations in their life as well. Huh?
Do you ever listen to your inner voice? Amazingly, that inner voice can guide us to a richer, more fulfilling, and more successful life. How, you ask? Really it’s quite simple – we just have to take the time to listen to this voice. Sounds easy enough, doesn’t it? But in reality, our ...
I'm sure you're aware of the old term, "spring cleaning"? Mother nature reminds us that before you add more to your life, it's always a good idea to let go of what no longer serves you. Like the leaves that fall from trees in autumn, room is made for the new growth that occurs every spring. I'm finding many women entrepreneurs feeling this way right now (including yours truly : -)). Evaluating your business is a smart move, as long as you're willing to ask yourself the right questions and give yourself honest answers:

It was 18 years ago when I brought home my first baby from the hospital. I’ll never forget the day. It was July 2, 1991 and I slowly walked out of the hospital with no shoes because my ankles were so swollen. Feeling the pain of my episiotomy, I placed my son Kai in a car seat we borrowed from a friend. It wasn’t an infant car seat like the ones we have today, so the huge car seat swallowed up all 6 pounds, 14 ounces of him. Looking at his tiny body all scrunched up, and thinking about how I had already failed him, I burst into tears.
Self- care and me-time are simply not indispensable. In fact, making time for yourself is actually an essential ingredient if you want to thrive in your life and your business. Here are four steps to creating time for yourself and the benefits they can lead to in your business and your life: 1.Examine your mindset about me-time. Are you still struggling with an inner critic who tells you that self care is a pie-in-the-sky luxury?
Goal setting isn’t easy and I am not here to tell you it is. Success is something you earn after putting in the effort to plan, refine and execute the vision you have created for life. Do not fool yourself into believing that with just a plan of action it will be a smooth road to living your dreams. You will experience roadblocks, obstacles and resistance from all around you. The feeling can be overwhelming and make you want to throw in the towel. The truth is most people do quit as soon as they experience their first set back or complete utter failure. They just give up and quit.
Can you count the times you have... - stopped smoking and some time later started again - attempted to get rid of unhealthy weight and quit the program before you got to your goal - reached a healthy weight goal then, over time, gained it back - stopped abusing a legal or illegal drug or alcohol and returned to the habit - started an exercise program, got in shape and loved it but gradually did it less and less until you stopped - stopped the behavior that was sabotaging your relationship but let it creep back in again - swore off cussing (pun :)), succeeded, then started again - fil

Taking your love of photography on the road is one of the really exciting assignments a photographer can get. Whether you are going out into nature to photograph a great sunrise, a phenomenal river or to capture some other wonder of nature or if you are going to an urban area to get photos that tell the story of a people, the safari nature of the trip is the same. Safari is a good name for such a trip because like that hunter going into the deep jungle to bag big game, you ar
Our brain is an amazing organ. Once believed to be static and hard wired, scientists have now proven otherwise through the study of neuroplasticity. Scientific research has established that our brain is creating new brain cells and forming new connections every day. Our brain is malleable to our thinking. You can change your life by changing your thoughts which in turn can change your brain. Our brain consists of three parts that function together as one system: • The conscious mind • The subconscious mind • The unconscious mind.
It’s the Release That Teaches! “That’s not fair!” “You promised!” “Why won’t you listen to me?” “Why should I change, what about You?” *Are you tired of the same old stuff day in and day out? *Are you sick of being the only one who is changing? *Do you wish people would simply “Get It”? *Do you want to Let Go of past, present and future limiting thoughts and feelings so you can move on with your life? “How is your Let Go!!!
Emotional balance is considered mastered when our mind, body and spirit are in line with each other and we are in a space where we have done our inner work and we feel at peace. We need to pay attention that all situations and life issues are resolved, or at least aired, and pay attention to the feelings that emerge from within us. Many times our emotional balance is ignored and passed off as stress, discomfort, boredom and distraction; and we try and fix it by all sorts of
How you cope with problems, is greatly effected by your past The coping style which you learned as a child is generally same in later life. If you learned that kicking and screaming loudly enough will result in your mom or dad caving in and letting you "have it now" you are likely to experience severe defeat in your adult life as not everyone else responds like mom or dad did to such behavior. On the other hand, if your mom or dad were firm, soothing and encouraging, you are likely to have developed a different mind-set when faced with inconveniences and potential set-backs.
Have you ever noticed just how easy it can be to find yourself focusing on what you haven't yet accomplished? Do you know what I mean? You're lying in bed at night thinking about your to-do list and saying to yourself, "OH, I didn't get this done, and I didn't get that done either." Then to make matters worse, you pile on the pessimism and self-criticism with thoughts like, "Who am I kidding? I'm never going to catch up on this stuff.
Generally speaking, people are always excited about trying out something new. This is why newly opened bars and restaurants, for instance, tend to be a huge hit on their first few weeks of operation. Of course, people are curious about what they have to offer. Unless you are able to meet your customers’ expectations, you are likely to lose them instantly. The truth is that getting customers’ attention isn’t the most difficult aspect of marketing a business. What you will find more challenging is how you may keep them knocking on your door.
I struggled a bit this week on what I wanted to share with you. I place a high value on making sure I give you timely information that you can use right away to take your life and your business to the next level of fulfillment, happiness and success. On the one hand, I wanted to write about June being the halfway mark in your business and now is the perfect time to take a mid-year inventory of what’s working and what’s not working so you can make the shifts necessary to meet your goals by the end of the year.
I was watching the holiday classic, "The Polar Express" with my children recently and in the movie, Tom Hanks, who plays the role of conductor, said to Billy as he exited the train, "It's not as important to know where the train is going as it is to make a decision to get on the train." Very wise words indeed. Getting in the habit of making decisions will be one of the best decisions you can make in 2012!
Do you have the time to stop overeating? To take control of emotional eating? To get on track with your healthy lifestyle goals? Lately I've been encountering many women who tell me they don't. I've been hearing from women who are incredibly frustrated with their eating habits, their weight gain, their lack of progress on important health goals. I've talked to women who fear their family history of diabetes or heart disease. I've talked to women who've even had weight loss surgery and are terrified because they are seeing the weight they've lost start to creep back.
How many times have you told yourself or someone else that you were going to get “it” done or you were going to show up? How often do you commit yourself to something important but “blow it” when it’s show time? I have a good one—How often do you tell yourself you’re going to TREAT yourself to that massage or get on that new exercise routine you committed to a year ago? I don’t know what hurts worse, disappointing myself or letting others down and looking foolish in front of them.r
Insomnia is an inability to sleep, not depending upon the number of hours which you sleep, but on the quality of your sleep and also on how you feel after you have woken. So, even if you are sleeping those ideal eight hours during the night and feel tired after the slumber, you may be experiencing insomnia. Most of the time people suffering from insomnia yield to medication as it provides fast results and is convenient. However, medicines can become addictive and a point is reached when you cannot do without them.
<img src="https://www.lifepurposeinstitute.com/wp-content/uploads/life-coaching-career.jpg" /> A life coach is someone who is professionally trained to help others realize their lives’ potentials and achieve their goals. If you’re toying with the idea of treading this noble career path, your intention is definitely in the right place. Not only can it be a lucrative niche, but it’s also a very fulfilling one as you get to touch the lives of others.
A few weeks ago, I went to a single dad event held by a non-profit organization. Upon leaving, all the single parents were given gifts to take home, some were food items. I was given a large package of hamburger patty meat. As I left, the lady handing the food to me said, "Just stick it in the freezer." When I got home, in typical A Clueless Mom fashion, that's EXACTLY what I did.
Spring is a great time to reassess, reorganize, and refresh. This year, instead of tackling your closets, I suggest you think about a thorough spring airing and cleaning of your life. Too often, busy lives lead us to patterns where we are simply following the bread crumb trail of our to-do lists and not taking the time to step back, gain some perspective, and revamp or refocus.

Remember when you suddenly had a great idea? Think back. What was it? Do you remember what you did with that great idea (a 'great idea' is a goal in its infancy)? If you grabbed hold of it with both hands and feet and parlayed it into something fulfilling and wondrous, then you probably don't need to read further. But if you didn't, and possibly regret it, the following could shed some light. Depending on your personality you may have done one or more of the following: • Processed it and processed it and may still be thinking about it months later.
What lights you up inside? What can you spend hours doing that doesn’t feel like work? Now, how do you feel about your current job? Career coaching can help you pick a career, increase your productivity, and get promoted. Reaching your full potential influences everything from your bank account to your level of happiness.
