The goal of traditional spiritual paths is mainly to achieve individual liberation or realisation of the Self, although some, such as Mahayana Buddhism, add an element of self-giving in action by having the realised soul, the Bodhisattva, renounce full liberation until such time as all other beings are liberated. This is a recognition of the universal oneness of the entire creation, and is a clear sign of spiritual fulfillment.

It’s funny, every single year I have the same feeling that I need to leave this beautiful island and get out into the pine trees, cool temperatures, and lots of nature. It’s my soul calling me… and it’s important to listen to our soul otherwise we become ill. Every single spring for many years now I’ve had this same urge to get up and go somewhere different. When I lived near my home town in the Sacramento Valley in Califo ia. I would take a trip to Tomales Bay Califo ia and enjoy the scenery and take in the wonders of nature.

If we look into the makeup of a simple atom we see three parts and they are analogous to the three parts of God. First, we have an atom which is made up of protons, neutrons, and electrons. Second, the protons are part of the nucleus of an atom which is analogous to God the Father. Third, we have the neutrons which are also part of the nucleus which is like the Son.

What would you do on your last day on earth? What would you do with those last 24 hours? What would be important to you when you got down to the last few minutes of your life? Take a moment and think about it. Sometimes we are so busy that we forget what we feel deep down inside is important to us. We get into a busy schedule and rush here and there and do everything we think is important. Yet is any of it important? That’s the big question.

What Can We Do About It? Lots of people have anxiety now… and anxiety is very easy to figure out. Anxiety is the fear that we hold within which creates stress. Here are a few things we can do get rid of it. If you hold in all your fears over time you start to feel very numb and stress and anxiety takes over. We were never meant to hold all that fear within like that. In The Past In the past, if we had fear it was from some kind of animal chasing us and we climbed a tree and the challenge went away… and then our fear dissipated. What We Have Now
In the field of medicine, there is a practice known as ‘differential diagnosis’ which examines symptoms and looks at the variety of potential causes before suggesting a remedy or curative action. The classic example is one of headache, which can have innumerable potential causes, including tension or stress, indigestion, a variety of disease conditions, physical trauma, concussion, eye strain, etc. Depending on the underlying cause, a solution is then proposed and implemented.
Practitioners of spiritual and religious disciplines inevitably are confronted with the habits and expectations of the physical mind in day to day life. There is a constant pressure to provide regular meals that suit the taste of the individual, comfortable surroundings to support the day to day life and provide a safe and secure shelter. There is the inevitable pressure for regularity in the regimen and the physical demands for acquisition of the food, clothing, shelter, sexual satisfaction, etc. that come with life in the world.
Brooks Greene-Barton once told me that the original purpose of psychology was to describe Humanâs relationship to God. rn rnAt the beginning psychology was organized to answer the question of who we are, what is the human existence about, what does it mean to be a human being. Over some hundreds of years this purpose shifted. As psychology became a science its point of reference changed. From considering human existence in relationship to God it moved to considering human e

Sri Aurobindo makes a clear distinction between development of the mind and the heart through various intellectual or artistic pursuits, or through music or devotional activities, and the practice of Sadhana, which is the primary need and focus for the spiritual aspirant. While any of these activities may be supportive and act as aids at various stages of the sadhana, it is essential to not lose track of the objective and to keep that fixed in front of one as one undertakes to practice any exte al forms of development or worship.
For those people who only treat as ‘real’ things they can directly perceive with the physical sense organs, the aura is considered to be some kind of fantasy of imagination. The aura, a vital sheath or envelope that extends beyond the boundaries of the physical body, has therefore long been the province of psychics and mystics. However, in recent years science has developed methods to determine the existence of the aura, and this has gone a long way toward debunking the idea that the aura is simply an illusion.
The snares of the desire-soul of the vital nature are often subtle and can easily overpower the mind. Thus, motivations that represent the gratification of the ego are frequently justified by the mental processes and thus, can continue even when the seeker believes that he is carrying out the Divine Will and Action. The history of close-minded bigotry, and the wars that have been fought, and the tortures that have been undertaken in the name of God provide vivid examples of the ways that the vital desire-soul gains support and justification in the mind.
In his book Autobiography of a Yogi, Paramahansa Yogananda describes the ability of various yoga practitioners to extend the capacities of the body far beyond what we consider to be normal, including prolonging the life span dramatically. One example he described was of Babaji, a yogi who reported lived and acted in the world for hundreds of years. This example was not an isolated case, as other yogis have been reported to extend life span or cure disease. Sri Aurobindo related a tale about his brother who at one point was desperately ill.

Someone asked a person the other day, “What do you think about when you meditate?” And they answered— “I don’t think”. There are many different qualities of meditation lets explore that a little more.
“Love is Very Healing for the Body” All the great poets talk about love as being very important for healing, all the great philosophers talked about love. Yet for some reason we have disconnected love from healing.
There have been millions of cases in which people have had terrible diseases and then had something happen and all of a sudden their disease disappears. Our unconscious rules our world, yet we take our unconscious mind for granted and don’t even connect the dots about how our unconscious mind is creating disease and stress. We can overcome all of this if we use the power of the unconscious for healing. Take for instance the true story of a person who had terrible eczema all over her body.
Though much of who and what we are changes as we journey through life, our inherent worth remains constant. While the term self-worth is often used interchangeably with self-esteem, the two qualities are inherently different. Self-esteem is the measure of how you feel about yourself at a given moment in time. Your worth, however, is not a product of your intelligence, your talent, your looks, your good works, or how much you have accomplished. Rather it is immeasurable and un
It is a virtually universal experience. One sits for meditation, trying to quiet the mind, and the thoughts keep surging and seem to have more intensity than before! Every sensation seems to provoke some activity in the mind, pent up issues or conce s take that time to come to the fore, emotions arise, thoughts abound. One gets the feeling that there is no peace coming in the meditation.
We tend to believe that we are a single, consistent and harmonized individuality, personality, character. For the most part, we are not self-reflective enough to recognise the inconsistencies and inner conflicts that take place within the being, due to different drives, needs, desires, and thoughts pulling us in different directions. This view makes it difficult, if not impossible, to effectuate real change in the nature.
There is a general bias in our society that holds that someone who has a developed mentality, and who is ‘well-read’ is smarter or more intelligent than those who cannot read or who have limited reading capacity. Yet it must be recognised that intelligence cannot be measured, as is done in the West, on tests that validate reading skills and memorization of ‘facts’. Intelligence is actually a measure of how well an individual actually understands what the ‘facts’ mean and has the ability to go behind the surface meanings to get at the real root significance.
Whatever we focus on intensely becomes stronger. If we focus entirely on the lower nature and its weaknesses, we actually are empowering them and giving them energy. In order to effectuate change in the lower nature, there must be an awareness of the areas that require change, of course, but not a fixation on them to the exclusion of anything else. Additionally, the focus on the weaknesses and resistances of the lower nature and the difficulty in making real progress for change can be depressing.
The ego-personality believes it ‘creates’ ideas, manufactures feelings, etc. It then takes pride in the accomplishment, and this becomes a source of enhancing the ego through a sense of vanity. Many systems in the world are set up to reward the creator or inventor or author, with the idea that they are solely responsible for the development of the content. Disputes arise when anyone else claims an invention, or when there is similar conceptualization or arrangement of materials between a copyrighted or patented work and another source.
Development in our world of existence takes place in a sequential manner, systematically developing the physical framework, the body, and then manifesting the vital, life-force and developing its powers, adding in thereafter the mental layer and subsequently, we see the signs that further stages of evolutionary development follow after the framework is in place. This implies, however, that these further stages, the spiritual consciousness, the supramental powers, are inherent aspects in the growth and development of consciousness in the world.

There must be some form of inner connection or resonance for any vibration to succeed in impacting an individual. On the more general basis, the physical body represents a connection to the material world, so that actions which impact the material world may obviously impact the physical body. Thus, all of humanity is subject to impacts by virtue of living in the world.

We have many tests that we go through during our life. Many of them are run of the mill tests that everyone must go through such as: Eye Exams - All of us have had our eyes examined to see if we have good vision or not. And then to have glasses made to fit our needs so we can see the world. School Entrance Exams - All of us have to take our tests at school to see how we are doing. This is a tool that teachers use to check on our progress and our learning capabilities.

We spend a large percentage of our lives in the realm of sleep, and the dreams that accompany the sleep state. We have very little actual knowledge of what takes place during our period of sleep, although scientists do extensive studies on the electrical activity in the brain during sleep and the different phases or stages of sleep.
How to Quickly Heal Constipation Forever Just the other day I had a man come to me who had terrible constipation and he was taking all kinds of herbs, supplements, over the counter remedies and nothing worked. And I told this man that his constipation was caused by diet and the only way to heal his constipation was with diet. Yet a lot of people with terrible constipation don’t want to listen to this type of down to earth way of healing constipation… they have a long history of eating a diet that is devastating.
Many who take up the practice of yogic sadhana find that they receive some signs of encouragement either prior to starting consciously down the path, through some kind of experience that opens other dimensions and opportunities for growth for them, or through some spiritual experiences in the early stages of the sadhana. Thereafter, it is quite usual for the experiences to recede and the slow, steady, patient work of aspiration, receptivity and dedication to the process takes over.

The Western mind-set, based in analysis and categorization, works to fragment and divide everything into discreet and distinct classifications and categories. Therefore, when it sees any element of Nature, or any being in existence, it wants to treat it as a separate and separated existence. It is a case of “not seeing the forest for the trees”. The Eastern mind-set recognises the oneness and integrated nature of all that exists, and thus,, while it is able to identify the ‘parts’, it also sees that they are not independent and that they are elements of the ‘whole’.
The integral yoga works to shift the standpoint from the ego to the divine consciousness. As that is accomplished, the focus on the ego-personality and its suffering and difficulties and the feelings it is experiencing are reduced or entirely removed. The being is absorbed in the divine standpoint, and sees all activities as part of that consecrated expression of its aspiration, its devotion, and its fulfilled surrender to the divine Will.
How does an individual come to devotion to the Divine? There are well-known instances that involve some kind of key experience of the Divine, such as the story of Saul on the road to Damascus, or even extreme cases such as Dannion Brinkley who was struck by lightning, declared clinically dead and returned devoted and with a mission as he wrote in his book Saved by the Light. Near death experiences clearly represent one way to shake the being out of an exte al focus of life and turn toward a life of devotion.
“How a 102 Year-Old-Man Runs a Marathon in Great Health” There are lots of studies showing that if we eat less we live longer, and prevent cancer… and we can be disease free every day of our life. 102 Year-Old-Man Runs London Marathon Not long ago a 102 year-old-man finished the London Marathon.
