A basic principle in nature is that everything has a center from which it obtains its source energy, intelligence and pattern which is continually self-renewing. Each center is connected to every other center and to the one center from which all life is vitalized. In more philosophical language, the center of anything is its essence, or soul. Every soul is connected to every other soul and to the one soul of humanity, the planet and universe. This center appears to us to be paradoxical because it is at one and the same time both individual and universal.

“I want to know the truth”… “tell me the truth”.. “that cannot be true”… those are things we keep hearing. Humans are focused on THE “truth”... one “truth” and in their demands for it they can get very frustrated, aggravated, angry, and depressed… they are searching for it all the time... searching constantly, trying to find the evidence, do the research… it’s all based on that… the “age of reason and knowledge” as it’s often called.

I always write about what is relevant in my life and this last month has been an interesting one for me. You see, in my lifetime I have had maybe ten headaches. I’ve had interesting discussions lately about the Chinese culture and how it compares to our own. To forgive our past, we first have to face and resolve any unfinished business from our past choices. This means every pattern, choice, and grievance must be examined, like turning over river stones, without hiding behind the facade of excuses. Then, to attain closure, in addition to spiritually releasing our patterns it is also necessary to clean up any physical residue associated with them by getting rid of emotionally charged possessions or gifts, closing bank accounts, changing titles on properties, and letting go of old wedding rings.

The Now is the only reality. It’s all that really exists. The past is a memory, the future is a fantasy, and memories and fantasies are just ideas, and quite inaccurate ones at that. Thoughts arise in the Now, but they are only a small part of it. However, because we are programmed to pay attention to the egoic mind, thoughts often take the place of experience: We think about life and think about what we are experiencing rather than experiencing life purely, without thought. Experience colored by thought and experience uncolored by thought are very different experiences.

I am always surprised where Life Lessons appear. I have been so busy wrapped up in quite a few projects that I knew I was losing my sense of being present.
