What Is a Flow State? Flow state is the optimal state of one’s consciousness and is closely linked to high performance. The simplest definition would be that a flow state is the state of mind when the person is so focused on the task that everything else ceases to exist for the moment. In a sense, a flow state is similar to a meditative state, when no distractions are able to interrupt the meditator’s concentration and focus. Jobwise, a flow state is desirable because it guarantees the best results by boosting awareness and ensuring high performance.

Online Counseling is a very effective and also very convenient option for many people. Convenience is one of the main factors - people are often too busy to take the time to drive to and from a therapist's office. It is much more time-efficient to simply turn to your computer and make that Skype video call at the scheduled time. Also, many people, such as mothers with young children and the disabled or elderly, find it hard to make the special arrangements necessary to leave home to travel to their therapist's office. There is also the issue of availability.
I was asked recently by a client this very question:- "How do I find my purpose and passion in life?" Together we had been doing a great deal of personal development work, including self esteem, confidence, leadership and team building; throughout the entire process my client felt that she was not actually doing what she truly wanted to do with her life and wanted to fix that. I thought back to how I worked out what my life purpose and passion in life was...that brought to where I am now - I recall it was quite an exercise.

Everybody is busy. And we secretly think we like it that way. On Facebook, probably once a week I see a quotation being shared about the amount of time teachers work after hours. And these make me laugh, because I certainly wouldn't have time to be starting my own business, raising a child, having a marriage, and going to the gym, if I worked 20 hours a week outside of my work day! Stay-at-home parents are also insanely busy, according to Facebook. And yet my husband has timee to work from home, have plenty of hobbies, and run everyday.
Stepping out of the bubble means moving on, no matter what circumstances arise. It means being a fighter, the kind of fighter that never gives up hope. We can envision what we want the future to hold. Then we must go out into the world and make it happen. Complete failure is not an option. ...

A Psychological Assessment is conducted in order to properly diagnose someone with a psychological disorder or determine risk, capacity and or current functioning. There are several parts to an assessment, all of which are equally important. The process starts off with an interview, and then can continue on with an observation before tests are administered.
There are different types of therapy, which can be handled by different kinds of healing procedures. When depressed, most people are unable to find solutions to their problems. For this reason, subliminal therapy has been counted as effective on those people, who sink deep into depression because of their denial in getting help. It is necessary that such people find ways of dealing with their problems without adding more complications on the same problem. Depression these day
Please feel free to forward to the powerful women in your life. This came through in a meditation as guidance for me, and I hope it can also be useful to you. On the Use of Power What is power? Goddess traditions define it as the ability to creatively define what is reality, and the act according to that definition. To imagine what is to be, and then make it so. To have a good idea, and to inspire others to support and follow it. To be able to influence the world, yourself and others. How do you define power?
“Are you a man or a god? Buddha replied, “I am awake.” Great people always seem to have a way of giving indirect answers. But, their responses leave you to think twice and then realize why they are great. Wisdom doesn’t come from the ego, it flows out of our higher Self. To fully understand ...
The body is a magnificent creation. It lets us know when we’re feeling well, and when things are off kilter. If we take good care of it, most likely it will take good care of us. If we abuse or ignore what it is telling us, we fail to recognize the message(s) it is trying to convey. Imagine, for a moment, our bellies telling us that it’s time to eat or perhaps that we ate a bit too much. Imagine working out at the gym to the point where our legs become wobbly, our hands tremble, and our heart feels likes it’s beating out of our chest.
Motherhood can be a magical time. Like other life transitions, it can also be fraught with challenges. A 2006 Danish study discovered that new mothers are at an increased risk for mental disorders such as schizophrenia, depression, and bipolar disorder in the first 3 months following the birth of their first child. Because of this—and the fact that PPD is so prevalent—new mothers may want to seek psychotherapy in the months following childbirth to help with the transition into motherhood.r
Some individuals are deeply spiritual. Their religion and spirituality are at the forefront of everything that they think, say and do. For others, their religious beliefs are a secondary concern. While they consider themselves to be spiritual, they tend to focus more on their immediate physical needs rather than dwell on their spiritual concerns. Regardless of what category you fall into, if you are seeking psychological therapy, chances are good that your spiritual concerns
I don’t think any of the Striving Styles embrace the spirit of the holidays more than the Performer. Everything from the enjoyment of shopping to organizing and attending social events brings them an opportunity to get their need for recognition met. They are truly energized by making the holidays exciting for others while at the same time, enjoying the limelight when they do it.
On the way to church Sunday I began to feel outraged. Running through my mind were all the different teachings I have heard about worry and anxiety. The outrage came from the fact that most of them left me feeling ashamed for my lack of faith. One speaker went as far as to call anxiety a “failure of faith”. I remembered the shame that I felt after hearing this speaker. He was (and is) a very well known and respected Christian speaker. But his words crushed me.
Intuition vs. Willful Forcing – A Life Coaching Tool (Part 2) Article by M. Joy Young, LCSW 503-309-1163 branchingover@iinet.com
"Forgiveness involves letting go and surrender of judgment and condemnation. With compassion, we can help others become aware of their divine nature and become lovers instead of haters. Most of all, we must not forget to forgive ourselves. We can give up the victim mentality and become victors instead. If we look through our spiritual eyes, we can stop judging and truly forgive. If we stop resisting life so much, we will stop feeling like a victim and creating a life of drama where we constantly need to forgive.

Or as if you’re just going through the motions partially submerged in water while breathing shallow? If you’re saying yes, chances are that you’re not mindfully living your life in a way that could bring you deeper contentment, a sense of purpose, meaning and healing.
The dilemma of a soul who is born into this world, differentiated and separated from its source is this: Now I have wrapped myself in a piece of flesh, a body suit which creates by its nature a sense of limitation & separation. Here I am among millions of other forms. I have forgotten my source, so I cannot self source my food, comfort, love. I am dependant on the world of form to meet these needs.
The eyes gazing into mine are young, full of sympathy and deep hurt. Those eyes will never acquire a hard, cynical expression. How long will this young man remain in a job suffused with such profound pain and distress I think to myself? Slowly I turn my head to stare fearfully at a small table ...
Horsemanship helps people.....How? Prior to writing this page I found myself thinking about horsemanship training, and I was reminded how this work called horsemanship or groundwork, has a profound affect on human lives, its intertwined and forever linked. No matter how many times I work with a horse owner, helping them have a better relationship with their horse, those people go through their own personal journey to success in the work that we do together, and its not just about horses, its about their everyday lives.
Throughout history in the East and the West, healers have recognized the importance of diet, and strived to understand its health-promoting and healing powers. Only relatively recently, with the development of sophisticated scientific tools of measurement, have researchers begun to appreciate how and why this is the case. The explosion of interest in nutrition has led to fascinating revelations, most of which confirm the opinions of ancient medical practitioners, while uncovering new and exciting opportunities to understand how we can improve mental health through dietary manipulation.
Call them SNAG’s – Sensitive New Age Guys or men that are genuinely trying to rescue an ailing relationship. Our practice now sees as many as 75% of males seeking counsel. So what has lead to this new revolution? Once upon a time, the first stages of a marriage breakdown saw the wife looking to rescue the relationship whilst dragging the husband through the door of a marriage counselor, most often against his will.

When Dorothy followed the yellow brick road, she was told to do so by those who wanted her to get where she wanted go. Well as humans when we blindly follow recommendations even by individuals who have good intentions, it may not always be your best option. So I’m preparing this article to ...
I remember feeling my mother’s sorrow as a child. Sometimes I would stand next to her and begin to cry. “Why are you crying” she’d ask bewildered? “I don’t know mommy, because you are sad” I’d say. Some of us physically register the suffering of others in our bodies. We tap into their feelings subconsciously. The metaphysical terms “sentient” and “empathic” are often used to describe people who have this keen kinesthetic sense. Do you get choked up when you hear someone cry? What happens to you when you pass an accident on the road?
Male Menopause (Andropause) is the stage of life that prepares a man to move from the first half to the second. Just as adolescence is a transition period and ideally prepares a child to become an adult, male menopause helps men to move from first adulthood to second adulthood. For those who have the courage to make the journey, the second half can be even more fulfilling than the first.

Most people have an Inner Critic that tries to brow beat or guilt them into change. You may hear that little voice saying “You should . . . “or “You shouldn’t . . . .” I call this shoulding on yourself. It’s not very much fun. If you feel bad enough, you may make temporary changes, but then ...

Today I was reminded of my own anger while driving.I don't get angry that easily or that often. Luckily I know what tools work for me when I start noticing anger wanting to show it's ugly face. Like I've told many clients, it's called Anger Management, not Anger Cure. This is an important distinction to make. Anger is not something you're going to cure. Even the most calm individual that meditates and exercises everyday has a tipping point; a thing that pushes them forward from complacency to the threshold of anger. This is why it is called Anger Management.
