If you've created a time management plan and still failed to reach your goals, it's likely, when it comes to the schedule, you're too flexible and easy on yourself and others. The fact is that time is not limitless, so you need to be ruthless with time. You can't work harder to get more of it; it's a finite resource that can't be increased or replaced. When you realize that time is finite and there really might not be some future distant tomorrow, you might start being more
The keys to amazing productivity are in your hands. Like a garden that’s been fallow all winter and is ready to burst into bloom, you harbor a wealth of ideas just waiting for the right environment to flourish. Time management skills can move those ideas from seed to harvest and provide you with untold opportunities to enrich your life.
Inspirational Speakersr We are all born with a personality, if we want character though. We must decide exactly how we want our character to be projected to the world and then we must go about the task of sculpting ours to meet that need. Building character is a conscious process in which you gradually turn who you are into the person you want to be. This is achieved by continually making hundreds and hundreds of the right choices that are aligned with the person you want to be. Until you build the character you desire.r
I am sure that you cannot remember the last time you had too much time on your hands. If you are like most people, you try to squeeze so much into your schedule every day, it is physically impossible to complete everything written into your daily planner. You mistakenly believe that you will somehow find the time to carry out the myriad of activities you schedule into your day. Nothing could be further from the truth, you will never find time for anything; each hour just seems to blend into the next throughout your day, as you lose yourself in your constant cycle of busyness.
Everything that happens in our world is merely an event. We give each one, meaning and get to decide whether it is positive or negative. For example: If two young children climb onto a roller coaster. One is an adrenalin junky and loves being out of control. The other is a more serious child, who likes their feet firmly on the ground. Any time they are not completely in control, they feel overwhelmed and in a state of discomfort. The roller coaster races around the track, the adrenalin junky cannot get enough.
I was sitting with a client the other day discussing a really difficult situation, he was experiencing in his company. He had been in various managerial positions for over 20 years and the challenge he was facing was caused by his naive approach to leadership. The error he had made was a really basic mistake; which he had made a few times before and I would have expected to have observed in a person much younger, with very little business experience.
It’s hard to stay calm and focused when you are under the gun. Times like that, having the right time management tools at hand is a real lifesaver. So, as summer draws to a close and many of us are getting ready to get back to work or school, isn’t this the perfect time to think about how to manage the pressures of multiple priorities and looming deadlines? The skills you develop now will serve you well when you need them most.
Whenever I speak to audiences about productivity, be it during a training seminar or a keynote presentation, I always, always, always recommend that they face away from passing traffic. The urge to look up is so strong and whenever we fall prey to that urge, we lose our focus. The natural tendency to look up whenever someone passes by is instinctive. It’s probably a survival mechanism long-instilled in our psyche to observe the “threat” before it consumes us.
Any superficial motivation that presents outside of you will be fleeting at best and offer very little or no long term, enduring inspiration at all. For motivation or inspiration to offer you any long term value, it must either help you to answer the question; “Why is this important to me” or help you to reinforce your already well-established vision of what you want in your future. It must: 1) Help you ignite your inner power 2) Help you to either create or drive your crystal clear vision of the future. 3) Inspire you to take action.r
Our brains are amazing they work 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, from before you are born, right up until we fall in love. The truth is our brains are far more powerful than any computer ever developed; our thoughts are in fact so powerful that they can either create or destroy. They can create the most amazing and beautiful things, fill us with love and grace or if we choose they can destroy dreams, relationships or even lives.
The Heart-based Time Management™ System goes beyond conventional time management, offering tools and insights for transforming your relationship with time. This is important because, while your to-do lists and schedules have an impact on your time, so do your thoughts, feelings, and values. So let’s take a look at one energy-drain that most of us experience – the Inner Critic. As a first step toward time success, there are few things quite as freeing as learning to harness the energy that gets undercut by self-critical messages.
As long as you keep nourishing the cause of your frustration and you persist in doing nothing about the cure, you will live a very normal, basic life in which you never get to realize your potential or live a complete and satisfying life. You must stop cursing the effect of your unhappiness and lack of fulfilment, while not doing anything about the cause. Make the choice right now to stretch yourself out of your comfort zone and make something meaningful happen in your life.r
n nOne way to manage your time effectively is to use a PDA. A Personal digital assistant (PDA) is a handheld computer, but has become much more versatile over the years. PDAs are also known as small computers or palmtop computers. PDAs have many uses: calculation, use as a clock and calendar, accessing the Internet, sending and receiving E-mails, video recording, typewriting and word processing, use as an address book, making and writing on spreadsheets, scanning bar codes, u
Time itself cannot be managed. It ticks inexorably forward. However, we can manage our behavior to make the most of the time we have. All behaviors employed to best utilize time should target one thing: sharpening focus. The more you focus on the task(s) at hand, the more productive you will be, which will also lower your stress. Increased focus is attained by reducing the interruptions and distractions that pull you away from what you’re doing. Small Changes Make Big Differences See if these suggestions help you stay more focused during the day: 1. Turn Off New Message Alerts.
According to the National Addiction Center, most of us stick to our resolutions for less than 90 days. What happens during those 90 days that keeps us from adopting a new habit pattern? Most “Change Your Life” programs guarantee success if you stick with it for 6-8 weeks. Why are those first 6-8 ...
I’m sure you’ve all heard the expression, that “a one eyed man is king in the of the blind!”, which is pretty much what this short article will be about – information about how you are being needlessly overcharged by greedy self serving lawyers and accountants who get fat on the sweat of the poor. You’ve probably guessed at this point that I don’t hold lawyers or accountants too high in my esteem, not because of the work they do (let’s face it, most especially in the legal pr
Much of the research I have read from many renowned Psychologists shows that people miss out on upward of 68 % of all opportunities around them, simply because they are unaware of them or rather because they have not programmed their brain to be on the lookout for opportunity. Most people are locked in a coma of routine, habit and overinflated to do lists, so they don’t have time for anything else. They run on the hamster wheel of discontent and a self-imposed comfort zone, which is just familiar, but seldom if ever comfortable, so they miss all the important things around them..
Over a third of workers believe they waste 1-2 hours a day on their workplace, as shown in a Gallup poll taken in 2007 . That makes up to 10 hours per week on average. These figures could make any business owner think about a career change. Luckily, there is a way out of this pain. The use of time-tracking software can help you realize where all the time goes. Who would be interested in tracking time? Just a few examples show that in fact anyone can be: Companies with hourly-
Smartphones are certainly a great invention that save a lot of time and keep people connected in ways thought of only in movies and TV shows like Star Trek. Someone asked me what Time Management meant to me. I said that it was doing as many right things at the right time, as often as you could. It seemed as good as a definition as the others I have given. Managing our time is the most direct link there is between success and failure. The more times I have to look at how I manage my own time, the clearer that connection becomes. Time Management is the road we all must follow, if we hope to be happy and successful. Doing The Right
Let’s face it; it’s difficult enough to maintain a positive, confident and enthusiastic outlook in the face of setbacks and the ever changing world we live in. So why do we sometimes add to the challenge, by hanging around in environments that are filled with negativity and compound the challenge even further by spending time around very negative people, whose negative attitude and behavior we mirror? This negativity can even come through people we know—friends, family members, colleagues, etc. Sometimes the negativity also seeps in through other sensory input.

Time management tips take on new importance when technology enters the scene. The challenge becomes one of finding time to take advantage of all the fresh opportunities available while not letting the 'shiny new object' detract from your life off-line.
In the article yesterday we explored the necessity of regular rest, proper nutrition and for making time in your day to clear your mind and meditate. The greatest challenge you will face, as you try to introduce these three crucial components into your life, is that you will feel like you are slacking off, when in fact you introducing three new tools that will in fact make you more productive.
Nothing ever invented, produced or multiplied a thousand times over, could ever match the potential wealth that lies untapped in the minds of people. Are you convinced that you are living your full potential or are you just coasting through life, spinning your wheels? Remember that you can only coast in one direction, so when you explore this question and you realise that you possess a vast amount of untapped potential, are you going to allow this potential to be wasted for even one second longer?
You can choose to continue living your life like a little shadow, which runs across the field of your potential every day and then simply disappears when the sun sets or you can make the choice today to begin taking the strides necessary to finally invite your full potential to shine. When you make this choice, you will finally begin living a life of meaning and fulfillment, where you will leave an indelible mark on everyone you touch.
Success means owning a large house in the best neighbourhood, filled with all the latest gadgets, driving a fancy car, having prestige and standing in the community isn’t it? Or does success mean something completely different to you? My objective with this article is not to judge and state that any one definition of success is any better than other. My objective is to show that, unless you know what success really means to you and you have clarity about what you really want from your life, you are going to continue to pursue something that you may not even want in the first place.
You need to become a master of your time rather than a slave to continuing time pressures.nn Organize Your Life Around Your Family, Your Career and Your Personal Goals nYou need to stand back on a regular basis and analyze yourself, your life and your time usage. The influences, which the people you spend time around have on your life, are very subtle. Just like anything, either positive or negative, if you repeat something consistently over time, they add up and eventually shape the way you live. The people you consistently spend time around will eventually influence you to dress the same, talk the same, eat the same type of food, read the same books. Or worse influence you not to read at all and over time their influence will cause you to even start thinking the same as they do.
Happy New Year! I wish you a healthy and growthful New Year, filled with productivity, depth, love, learning, laughter, and the time to reflect, assimilate and appreciate it all! Transitioning into something new always means, for me, remembering and honoring what has been. That’s the Heart-Based Way. So, as I say good-bye to this past year, I reflect back on what an amazing year it was. Whether you consider world events or the challenges of everyday living, the time was filled with 365 days’ worth of memorable moments for each and every one of us.
I share something in common with each of you no matter who you are, where you live, or what you do. What we have in common is something that we can never recapture once it's gone. But, the fact that we have something in common may be as far as we go. You and I both have the same amount of time available to us in each and every day. What makes us different, however, is how we use our time. To understand the real value of time available you must realize that once it is gone, y
Communication is critical when developing mutually beneficial and mutually enjoyable relationships. Relationships require trust, and one of the best ways to develop trust is to focus on helping the other person feel heard and understood. Remember this important distinction:
Some people are born with more natural leadership ability than others. They have a more natural affinity to lead others and as such people are drawn to them as leaders. Despite this, I believe that almost anyone can learn the art of leadership and become a better leader. Yes the people with more natural leadership ability will probably grow into stronger leaders in the end, but with focus and training anyone can improve their leadership ability. For example, if we were to measure someone’s leadership ability on a subjective scale between 0 and 10.
It often astounds me, how things that are such common sense, are seldom common practice. We all know that history serves only one purpose and that is to act as our tutor. Yet so many people spend an inordinate amount of time reminiscing about what could have been or using the past to justify their current lack of performance. Learn as much as you can, from what has happened in your past, create a crystal clear picture in your mind, of exactly what you want in the future and then live in the NOW.

Does Your Success, Depend on the State of the Economy? I do not believe that any change or fluctuation in market conditions should have any bearing on how your future turns out. The real predictor of how your life will unfold is determined by your beliefs and consistent daily behaviours. Despite the current doom and gloom about a double dip recession and newspapers splashing headlines every day about the recession we are experiencing, I believe that you still get to write your own success story. The long term sustainable success, which we all want in our lives, is the result of:

One of the most neglected areas of our lives is our Physical health. I can never understand why so many people neglect to take care of the vehicle that supplies their energy and carries their mind. We can never expect to achieve anything meaningful and sustain our level of achievement if we continue to neglect our bodies. Why does it take a catastrophe, where we are either lying in hospital recovering from a triple heart bypass operation or we are so overweight that we cannot function properly any longer, before we see the need to take care of our health.

Let’s put the romantic notion about money aside, yes success is not about how much money you can accumulate, it is something specific and unique to each individual. However money does buy us a lot of the scarcest resource, namely time. If we are able to accumulate enough money, we are better able to free up time to spend with our families, learn more, assist more people to grow and expand, to travel and to see the world. So whether you love or hate money, you most certainly need it, to live a better quality of life, where you have time to do the things that matter to you.
We can easily earn more money, if we are willing to apply ourselves, develop meaningful relationships at any time during our lives or acquire abundant possessions, trinkets and treasures. There is an endless supply of these available to us, at all times. Time, energy and health on the other hand, are the fundamental raw materials of life, which you can choose to use wisely, waste or even kill. As the supply of these is limited in the context that we use them, treat your time, energy and health, as your most valuable possessions and invest them very wisely.
What percentage of the time that we’re late for a meeting or a phone call is it truly, fully, outside of our control? Certainly it’s very rarely. The vast majority of the time when we’re late, it’s because we don’t plan well enough. We didn’t leave early enough for our destination. We didn’t enforce time boundaries earlier in the day. Or we didn’t set expectations properly. (Or some other reason over which we could have exercised control but didn’t.) Here two important questions to ask of yourself: 1. What do I have to do differently to be on time? 2.
