I used to be friends with a guy, Chad, who was a big movie buff. He knew every thing about movies. He fancied himself to be on par with Martin Scorcese and Quentin Tarantino in terms of being an encyclopedia about film. Although he aspired to be a filmmaker, he actually never made a movie. He did take dozens and dozens of screenwriting classes, and read just about every book there is to know about screenwriting, he never had any of them produced into an actual movie. Even though he knows a lot about movies, he doesn’t write up movie reviews.

Berthold Auerbach said, “Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life”. I don’t know about you, but music has, and continues to, enhance all areas of my life. No matter what mood or space I am in, I can put on a certain song or type of music and everything seems to just wash away. When you listen to your favourite songs or different genres of music, how do you feel? Perhaps you are inspired, feel energetic, happier, relaxed, romantic, moved, touched, blessed, or even in awe when you listen to it.
Your "internal map of reality" has produced a "life script" that is creating your experience of life. And I think it safe to say that it's not always what you want. Yes?

Why do a very small number of people live a life of success and fulfillment while the vast majority struggle daily just to maintain the status quo? Have the successful amongst us been somehow "chosen" by the Gods of achievement and abundant living? Is there some deep, dark mystery behind a truly successful life? If only the answer were that easy. There really are no "secrets" to success. Those who live lives of fulfillment discover the principles integral to success and put those principles into practice on a daily basis.
When we were young, very young, we made decisions about ourselves and the world we live in that have lasted throughout our lives. These decisions, or agreements about life, were made before we had a rational mind or the perspective and experience of an adult. Most of our beliefs about the world were in place before the age of five. We were only conce ed with our security and being loved. And when these needs weren't met, or worse when they were violated by abuse, we came to very fearful and limiting conclusions.
As you give thanks to the horrors of your life, deep transformative change occurs. The ancient brain houses the fear, terror and rage patterns. When these are activated, they take over. The magnificent power of gratitude can transform these ancient patterns. The ancient brain has been around for ...
This is a time to look inside, to take stock of my blessings, and move forward into new and exciting things to come. One of the biggest shifts in my life in the last several years has been that I now do this assessment in a different way. Like a lot of my clients, I used to focus on my ...
There really is no such thing as a "bad" day. There are days that are certainly much more challenging than others, to say the least, but that doesn't make them bad. Know that you can make them better. Days are filled with ups and downs. Some will be exciting, heartwarming, moving, encouraging, and hopeful, while others can be exactly the opposite. Perhaps you have, or are currently facing a troubled time in your life. Something, or someone, has you questioning how you will ever make it through this day, let alone the next ones to come.
Here's a question man has been asking himself for thousands of years now and he'll continue to ask it for thousands of years to come: "what is the secret to success?". The answer to this question may startle you, it may anger you and it may even leave you feeling a bit empty. The answer is not something jealously guarded by an elderly success guru who sits quietly meditating atop a hill in some distant land. Ready? Here's the answer: the secret to success is that there are no secrets. Successful, abundant living is not reserved for a select few and withheld from the many.
Reaching our fullest potential is an evolutionary process. As we grow and mature into conscious human beings, we gain greater and greater ability to consciously co-create our lives and world. Expanding consciousness within the mindbody is the goal of Spiritual Integration. This is achieved as the unaware conscious mind submerges into the depths of the subconscious mind to gain greater self-awareness, which expands the consciousness of the mindbody.
Most religions and spiritual teachings are based on polarity, good and bad. The basic Christian premise is that if you are good, based on their specifications, then you get to go to Heaven. And of course, if you are bad, then you go to Hell. Most other religions have similar rules.

When you first get the idea in your mind of how you want to live your life, it can seem like an impossibility. Most people that are seeking a radical life change are intimidated by the fact that they have no clue how to do it, and as a result, believe that this change will never happen for them. Changing your life really is not as scary as you might believe it to be. The only thing holding you back is a lack of knowledge. Once you have the knowledge, you can use it to do any
I have long been a believe in the importance of having the right resources. That's why I named my business the Inner Resource Center. I have long believed that you can accomplish anything if you have the right tools. In fact, with the right resources, you can transform your life. And you can do it easily and nearly effortlessly. Each of us needs to find the resources that are right for us and right for the task at hand. Sometimes we need information; sometimes we need guidance from a specialist. Sometimes we need only to tap into the resources inside of us.
Are you aware that the Earth is a powerful healing resource? A growing number of enthusiasts believe this planet is a never ending source of natural electrical energy that promotes health. Placing your body in direct connection with the Earth is viewed as an effective anti-inflammatory and anti-aging wellness option.
With all the troubled times in the world and in our personal and professional lives, it can be difficult to find the joy, let alone laughter. The definition of laugher is: to feel joyousness, merriment, glee and the resulting sound as to laugh. There is nothing more beautiful than hearing the resonance of laughter, especially in young children squealing in delight. Have you ever heard a child’s first laugh? What an incredible moment! You can’t help but smile or laugh yourself.

I found a wonderful little trick to change the way I see other people. Along the way, I found the person it had changed the most was myself. Here's how it started: My wife and I were talking about how everyone has a spark of the Divine in them, no matter what path they may have chosen in ...
Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) was developed by Richard Bandler and John Grinder in 1975. Neuro relates to the brain and the ways in which we process information from our five senses. Linguistic relates to language or communication and how we use symbols to organize and give meaning to our experiences, how we represent our experiences in our inner world. Programming refers to the way we code our experiences and program our subconscious with behaviors, filters, beliefs, etc.
We're moving into a new season – a time of change. As the leaves turn from shades of green to yellows and crimsons and brown, bees and butterflies disappear, and clouds reappear, we too undergo our own seasons of change. Ever dying to the old and emerging into the new you'd think we'd get used ...
Someone recently asked me why I know that I will be successful when I undertake something, and the answer popped into my head so clearly that it astonished me. My response to him was, “Because of four key factors. . . ” • I can envision the project in advance and see how I want it to unfold. I see it succeeding as I perceive it; • I am willing to put in the effort that is required to bring it to fruition; • I have faith in my intelligence, my intention to do something of value, my commitment to achieve it, and my good judgment that this fills a need;r
If you want to learn how to succeed in life, then there's a habit you need to develop starting today. And note I said "habit" which means you'll need to put it into practice every day. This important habit is something you'd also want to use if you wish to learn how to succeed in business too. This habit can be best illustrated with a story… Let's say that you've decided to start a home based business. As anybody who has ever tried would know, starting a home business is never an easy thing to do. Getting a business up off the ground requires lots of time, energy, money and focus.
The structure of consciousness is a series of agreements. As a 20-year veteran of the information technology world, I have observed firsthand that all programs are created as and from individual lines of ‘code’. In layperson’s terms, each line of code, or ‘sentence’ is an instruction to do or ...
I once saw my mom pick up a penny that she somehow saw in the middle of a parking lot. She waved it in the air as if it were a blessing, and placed it carefully into her purse. I asked my how she was able to see that penny? She said that pennies are everywhere, and that all you have to do is look.
My girlfriend and I are "American Idol" (FOX) junkies. We promise to stop watching year after year, but we keep going back. This is the first year that she watched the auditions, which happens to be my favorite part of the series. The phrase that always bothered me is when a contestant says, "This means everything to me." Are you serious?! It's this contest or nothing? First of all, "American Idol" is not a contest. "American Idol" is a televised audition. Let's get that's get that straight first.
Feeling anxious is a part of being human. We can’t run away from anxiety if we are fully participating in life. If one of my adult children were to be diagnosed with a life altering illness, I would become an anxious mother. Going through two divorces, I felt anxious about how I would move forward with my life. Everyone has been through difficult times which gave rise to anxious feelings. Yet for some, coping with anxiety is a daily challenge and requires professional attention.
One of my clients, Anna, recently tried to sell her photographs at a concert that one of her friends held at a hotel. Anna's friend, Johnny has a small jazz band and was able to get his band booked for gig at the bar/lounge inside the hotel. Johnny also asked the hotel if they could have friends sell art and crafts in the lounge area. The hotel approved as long as it was kept to a small space.
I hate wasting food. Rather than allowing food to rot, I have to become an Iron Chef sometimes, and think of some way of salvaging the food. Sometimes I perform miracles, and sometimes my creations end up in the trash anyway. Regardless of how many times I've overcooked the fish, under baked the cookies, or made something that was just inedible, those few miracle moments in the kitchen made those half-baked attempts worth it.
Did you see “The Polar Express”? It is a wonderful movie about a young boy’s questioning the existence of things unseen, like Santa, and of his inner transformation on that exciting journey. I think each one of us has the choice to board “The Transformation Express” every day. Each morning as ...
Towards the end of last year, I had to just stop everything I was doing. Why? Because all my great marketing efforts were not paying off. All my positive thinking was not creating a change in my bank book. All my visualizations, working with limiting beliefs, and using strong emotion to ...

Life should be a WOW experience every day no matter what you see around you, no matter what the balance in your bank account, and no matter what someone else would say about it. However, many get bogged down in the details of the day and habitual thinking can block you from seeing the true joy ...
Our lives are made up of habits from the minute we wake up and go through our morning routine, to the end of the day and our evening rituals. They can simplify our lives by putting routine, regularly repeated actions on autopilot so we don't have to pay any special attention to them so we can multitask. There are good habits, then there are the habits you consider bad and you want to change. Do you have a habit you'd really like to quit once and for all? Perhaps you've tried many times but it still persists. Could be, you've left something out.
To borrow a line from the classic "A Tale Of Two Cities"; these are the best of times, these are the worst of times. There are many people today who are really hurting as a result of this economic meltdown we're collectively going through. On the flip side, there are also a number of people who ...
I love how photographers can capture the magnitude, beauty, force, serenity, innocence, mystery, and inspiration of just about anything in life as they tell a story. There is something magical about photographs where images seem to come alive, where you can feel the essence within the picture as if you are right there at that very moment. They can evoke intense emotions like happiness, sadness, outrage, sexuality, love, hatred, peace, inspiration, etc. It’s astonishing that just looking at a picture can conjure up pleasant or unpleasant feelings. Our thinking minds project
What creates, or is creating, a negative attitude in your life? Perhaps you are worried, conce ed, or frustrated about your financial situation, your child, your relationship, your health or someone else’s. Maybe you are doubtful about your present or future circumstances, or angry or upset with someone or about something. No matter what or whom is stirring up these unwanted and often uncomfortable feelings, you can release them by surrendering to them and shifting your negative attitude back into a space of gratitude.
I'll admit it. I am a recovering snooze addict. I was addicted to staying in bed, wrapped up in its warmth. But it was always temporary, and it was never enough. At first, I only hit the snooze button once. Next thing I knew, I was hitting that button at least ten times before getting out of bed. And this was during the workweek! The idea of getting out of bed to go to a job I loathed was unbearable, and would self-medicate by hitting that snooze button, over and over again. The weekends were worse. My friends were lucky to see me before noon.
When I was in college, I knew a guy - we'll call him Robert - who was obsessed with the Denver Broncos. That's all Robert ever talked about. Now, perhaps I think Robert was obsessed because I don't really follow sports, and perhaps he wasn't any more obsessed than any other Bronco fan.
Stress is caused by your body preparing to face a physical threat - and then doing nothing. When we get wound up our bodies prepare to hit something or to run away - that's how our ancestors stayed alive before we built towns with walls and weapons to defend ourselves.
A statistic recently came out that 63 millio Americans have a Net Worth of $0. One-fifth of our population is now barely surviving. I find this to be absolutely unacceptable, being that this country also has such extraordinary wealth. To this end I am promoting the concept of Change = Opportunity to help people understand that although things don't work they way they used to work, there is actually the most extraordinary opportunity right now to create your own reality and live according to your own dreams and goals.
Although many communities support local businesses, supporting local art seems to be a different story. Our homes are filled with poster art of long dead artists, our furniture looks like it came out of a catalog, and our bookshelves are lined with celebrity authors. With our taste for art and design so homogenized, it's no wonder that the appreciation for art has actually depreciated in this country, especially in our classrooms.
When unsettling times occur, your emotions can get the best of you. Fear and doubt can creep in and the feeling of hope seems to be lost. When faced with a problem have unsinkable hope. Whether it's hope for yourself or another person, it may appear to be out of reach or just beyond your grasp, but rest assure, it's not. Your thoughts can be pretty tricky and quite believable sometimes. They may even seem as if they grab hold of you and you find yourself plummeting to the darkest and doubtful places in yourself.
Many if not most people are looking /hoping for a positive change in some aspect of their life be it personal or professional! Many expect that the good changes they seek will happen in due time and therefore do nothing at all to help make things better! This is a big mistake since it is up to each individual to take charge and be more proactive in their own lives especially if it will help make things better! For anybody looking for good changes to occur in any aspect of the
Being rich is something that a lot of people dream of. They see all the cool toys that rich people own, the exotic trips they go on, and the 'carefree' lifestyle they lead, so it's no wonder that people desire more money. Yes, it seems that these people have it all - but you are looking at it their lives through rose-colored glasses. People who are financially free have done the necessary work to get there, and they have to continually work to stay at the top. This is someth
