Sharing a Few Thoughts on Spirituality from my Notes (collected over the years - Part Two)

INTRODUCTORY COMMENTS:

These notes form part of a new manuscript, which I may name 'A DUMMIES GUIDE TO SPIRITUALITY: HOW TO KNOW and EXPERIENCE GOD'

These are some of the notes (in point form) that I've made and collected over the years (some from authors and sources unknown), which may be of interest and get you "tinking" about these "airey-fairey matters". If you want to replace the word 'God' mentioned so often with 'Life', that's great! Hope it's not too "heavy heavy" and that these thoughts may be helpful and perhaps even inspirational to you in your spiritual growth.

Make time for reflection and meditation. Ask yourself: "What daily action will I take to reinforce my beliefs."
Two more important questions to ask yourself:
"Am I loved?"
and
"Did I love well?".

Get a new vision for your life, a new dream.

"If you cannot do great things, just do small things in a great way."
- Mother Teresa

"Endure the shifting sands of the future".
God looks at your heart. Nothing is too hard for God!

One's level of compassion is the absolute test of any spirituality. God uses our suffering to give greater insight ("a welcome to God") - new insights and greater revelations.

"Hope kindles the soul in the storms of life."

"The deeper the valley, the greater the blessing."

Go with it, don't fight your circumstances. Don't get stuck in the mire of your circumstances, but just do your very best to get out of the quicksands. Don't stop rowing; keep rowing to shore and keep praying.

Pray differently. It defines a new way of living.
"Work as if it depends on you...
and pray as if it all depends on God."

Love, compassion, self-growth.
R H Schuller: 'Universality of Hope'. The spirit of Hope is divine and we all carry it. "Prisoner of hope".

Choose inner strength. Recall difficult experiences you've had in the past. Affirm: "I'm strong enough to make it through anything."
"I am stronger than my fears."
"No matter what I'm going through, I'm going to be allright."

What daily ACTION will I now take?"

Faith is not something you aquire - faith is something you work on yourself and then find meaning and value in life.
God's Holy Spirit can make a miracle out of the broken pieces of a shattered life.

"I face every adversity with the belief that the seeds of a greater benefit will emerge."

The "anchor of our faith" does not waver.
Raise your sights to the Lord.

If you have faith, God has the power.
