This one liner is so popular at the beginning of each year. It is usually followed by popular triggers:
Lose Weight!
Increase your Wealth!!
Achieve your Dreams!
Overcome Obstacles!
Find your Perfect Mate!
Get Healthy!

Articles and seminars used this one liner so much; I wondered if it would be possible for me to plan out the best year of my life at the beginning of the year? Contemplating past planning sessions, I remember a lot of time and money spent with nothing coming to fruition. Goals like being more eco friendly, being a better communicator, eating better, whatever it was, my long term planning seems to not work out.

Successful plans for me are usually practical in nature, meeting parents for a play day at the park, spending 2 hours in a specific day to pay bills and check my budget. Practical plans can go astray too. I was planning on going to the play center last Saturday at 2 PM, but my son fell asleep, so I changed my plans. It was “in my flow” for the day. I actually like being “in my flow”. It makes digesting life easier. I don’t take it personally if a friend is a “no show” for a play date. I know the plan for that day did not “fit in her flow”.

I know there is a force, a flow that moves me to accommodate my:

Failure – when I get to learn new lessons, grow spiritually, expand
Love – when I learn to love myself more, get to love new people
Creativity – when I get to experience new things beyond what I had imagined

When I surrender to that force I feel my own co-creation. It is minute by minute. It is not something I can “put my mind to”. Surrendering allows me to be what I need to be, with that comes natural improvement.
Instead of “Making It the Best Year Ever”, I think I will just make it the best minute with whatever is in my flow and surrender. Get my head out of the game and stop trying to plan out a strategy unless it is for a practical purpose. Embrace my true co-creator status, practice faith that Source moves through me and with me.

I think the saying is true, “God Laughs at Plans”.
