It has been named so after Dr. Morton who diagnosed this condition for the first time in the year 1876. Thus, the disease itself is called Morton’s Neuroma. These are highly troublesome for the women. These symptoms are also seen in men who wear shoes that have a construct similar to that of high heels.

People prone to Morton’s Neuroma
Though, Morton’s neuroma isn’t necessarily a woman’s disease, a number of women suffer from it. However, other than women, it affects people over the age of 40 and men who wear uncomfortable shoes. None the less, it is most found in women who wear high heels on a regular basis.

Thus, the basic cause of this disease is shoes with poor construct and it can be completely avoided by limiting the use of those shoes.
