There is no doubt in my mind that you are a woman who wears many, many hats. I’m quite sure that at some point in your day you perhaps misplace one or two of these caps and even forget which one you are wearing at times. It is not at all surprising that when the clock starts ticking you start moving and you don’t stop much at all until your weary heads rests itself for a good night’s sleep. Does this at all sound familiar?

Where then in all this hustle and bustle of normal, everyday life do you find the time to add movement into your day of events? Am I describing you? Am I pushing any buttons? Am I singing to the choir? Between the jobs, home, family, friends, volunteering, house work, sleeping, downtime, etc. it is no wonder why sometimes you may have noticed possibly two, three, four days or even a week fly by and there has been no exercise in your schedule. You are thoroughly aware that if you want to make a difference in your life and maintain this happening into your future, movement must be invited along for your journey. One of the most wonderful attributes is that involving some form of movement into your days doesn’t have to mean arduous amounts of time; quite the contrary. Why not contemplate the following examples of ways to take ten minute intervals and turn them into ten minutes of “make-a-difference” movements in your day.

~10 minutes of aerobic dancing listening to your favorite music on your iPod or mode of sound.
~10 minutes of stair-work at home or at the office. One-by-one or two-by-two. Be careful.
~10 minutes of dog walking at a brisk pace. Borrow a neighbor’s pooch if you need to.
~10 minutes of work-walking around your place of employment. Start a new healthy trend.
~10 minute rotations of push-ups, sit ups and lunges; slow and controlled.
~10 minutes of raking leaves or shoveling snow.
~10 minutes of power cleaning; fast pace with lots of reaching, stretching and squatting.

If you are a Lovely Lady who feels completely overwhelmed with the daunting task of 30+ minutes of movement on a regular basis and due to the fact that it stalls you before you even begin, looking at your approach through a new pair of glasses maybe exactly what you need to start your train rolling in the direction of your goals. There’s absolutely no need to bite off more than you can chew and then bow out completely. Take the time to look for smaller pockets of opportunity and engage them with vigor. Approaching fitness and movement in this regard could be all that you need to get moving more often, stay motivated to keep on trying and all-in-all set yourself up for success.
