It took a lot of people to stand up and make sacrifices in order for you to have your freedom. As they say, freedom is not free.
Here are some examples of the types of freedom: Economic Freedom, Religious Freedom, Freedom of Movement, Self Defense, Political Freedom and Personal Freedom.
This article is for you to think of the types of freedom that you have and to show gratitude for those who stood firm in their actions to make sure that you have those freedoms. I am so proud to be able to have all of them. Every single type of freedom that you have makes you feel free. Think about that for a moment. If you didn’t have money, can you imagine how trapped you would feel. When you do have money, you breathe a little easier and you feel freer to do with what you will; pay bills, buy something for yourself, etc.
There are countries that do not have some of these freedoms. I am not taking anything away from them as I know that in all humanity there have been sacrifices made by many to get the order of life in existence today.
I want to reflect on the sacrifices that were made. To truly appreciate the different types of freedom, you have to acknowledge the sacrifices. So many have had the determination to stand up and fight both mentally and physically for what they believed in. Many have paid the ultimate price in the name of freedom. Many have sacrificed being away from their families and being in familiar surroundings and going to the unknown where death and casualties were a daily occurrence.
Freedom is to be free and to feel free. The opposite of that is to be trapped and feel trapped. As you think about your freedom and what it means to you, think of others who might be trapped. Think about how they must feel and the decisions they might be forced to make on a daily basis.
I am guided by the decisions that I make and the insightfulness that I have learned by others. If there is anything that I walk away with in this life it is in knowing that I am free. It hasn’t always been that way, but then again it has but my own decisions in life entrapped me until I had the courage and the strength to change them. Through your own courage and determination you can get through anything. It might take a while but you will get there and each day will be an improvement over the previous day. Sometimes we build walls around ourselves and it will take inner courage and strength to knock them down and finally be free to live the way we’re supposed to. You have but one life, choose to be free and accept your responsibility to ensure that others can live that way as well.
