Spirituality should not be taken as a form of convenience, in the sense that one must relate to it when they feel comfortable to do so. The maintenance of one's spirituality is like the nourishment of one's own body. Much like we have food for the body, (believe it or not) there is food for the soul. Now you don't have to believe in the existence of the soul to do good works but soul is, regardless of its existence fed, and in turn the Earth is a bit better than when we entered it. But keep in mind that the maintenance of spirituality requires a great deal of sacrifice and at times things that one hopes to accomplish during the day, like watching our favorite show, or buying an item that is on sale for the last time, must be replaced by an activity in which someone other than oneself is helped in some way, like having a coffee with someone you haven't heard from in a while, or volunteering ones time to cleaning up a park, or…

So in other words spirituality such be an item that is addressed in your schedule, meaning if you think you're too busy, then you must re-evaluate what you do daily so that all aspects of your schedule includes spirituality. Think of it this way: if God (regardless if He exists or not) could right now, show you the life you are currently living, versus the life you COULD be living, what would you change about your current circumstances in order that your life may reflect the qualities of the life you COULD be leading?
