Question:

I took the primordial sound meditation teaching with one of your instructors and they explained my personal mantra as the sound that was made at the time of my birth. Since I studied with the instructor I have become afraid of it. This morning I had a deep, spiritual dream that has led me to think of our will being very delicate and that what I am choosing is based on past experience and really a type of hell. The thought that surfaced was that I have to get back to the beginning but not in the past. The thought of practicing my primordial sound meditation popped into my head. My question is, will practicing the sound meditation take me further into this world (earth) or bring me closer to God? There is so much uneasiness about it because I do not want to do anything wrong and end up alone in some horrifying hell. Please help. Thank you.

Answer:

You fears about mantras are based on misunderstandings and misconceptions. The mantras have no connection to past experience. The mantras use the subtle science of sound to facilitate self-referral experience. It is not about the delicacy of your will or looking into your past experience. Practicing meditation is about experiencing the present moment, your divine essence.
