Steve Jobs, one of the founders of Apple Computers, passed away a few days ago. I, like millions of other, was saddened by the news.

I felt like I knew him, but I didn’t. I knew his products and the special way he introduced them to the world. He had a unique way of making us feel like we had to have the new and improved version of every product he launched. And I believed him because I own a lot of them.

His passion for creating new and improved was his passion and his calling.

This is what he was born to do. How do I know this to be true?

Simple.

He excelled at it.

He was passionate about it even after he was forced to leave a company he loved and created.

Many people were saddened that he died at such a young age. I wasn’t because it was his time to go. He had done all he was supposed to do.

Will I miss his amazing product launches?

Of course.

It’s just that I somehow understand that he did just what he was born to do. He started early and had great success. Did he innately know he wouldn’t live a long life? I have no clue. What I do know is that he made goods use of the time he had.

That’s the lesson I that came to mind when I heard he died and I felt compelled to share it with you this week in hopes that you can start looking at your life a little differently and begin listening to your inner voice that wants to help you live a happier life.

You only get a finite amount of time here and it’s your job to use all of your unique gifts and talents in a way that makes you happy. When you’re doing this you also makes the world a better place. Here’s an example.

Last week I gave a presentation to close to 60 teachers on how to manage stress and be happe. I loved every minute I spent creating, rehearsing and delivering my 30-minute presentation.

It was fun and I had a blast. I also received incredible feedback about how my words helped several teachers in someway. This made me extremely happy and motivated me to look for other opportunities to share my love of happiness with more groups.

I’d like for you to spend some time this week thinking about what you really love doing and then figuring out a way to do more of it.

This, my friend, is your gift to the world.

The world wants your gifts and it needs your one-of-a-kind ideas.

I guarantee doing this will make you happier than you’ve ever been before.

It worked for Steve.

It worked for me too.
