I've realized something that is quite disturbing about some singers. In the survey we sent last month, many of you said that you did not believe you had talent and you even went on to explain how you hate your voice. As I mentioned in my last newsletter, I didn't buy it for a minute! And now I have discovered something even more confusing. I thought about it for a sec and told her this. “Well, when we’re learning how to sing, it’s not unusual to try and sound like someone else, usually some singer who we admire and have listened to often. As we grow in technique and confidence, we start to trust our own interpretations of the songs we’re singing and rely less on our ability to simply imitate artists.” She replied:r

Putting Your Career into Proper PerspectivennBy the time my own career started to take off, I was past 30 and had 2 small children. When I look back now, I think I may have unwittingly put them 2nd, indeed, even neglected them at times. I tell you this because I think it's important to keep your career pursuits in the proper perspective.
