The Role of the Singer in the Worldr May 8th, 2011 I was involved in a project with about 5000 others online a couple of years ago now. We were each discovering things about ourselves and seeking ways to have an impact on the world we live in. What I learned about my self and my motivation charged my spirit with all sorts of new ideas for the future.
As I write this, I am acutely aware that some of what I am about to talk about with many you readers will be received by you in a variety of ways. Some of you will welcome a new, (but really not so new) idea, while others will disagree totally. As we age, we pay much attention to our health and well-being. We are encouraged to eat better, exercise, and generally engage ourselves in activities that are health-promoting and considered “good” for us older folks.
So, have you made your resolutions? Everyone I know is making them. "I'm going on a diet", one friend has proclaimed...for the 3rd year in a row. "I'm going to save some money", another friend has stated, one who has been known to shop 'til she drops.

Putting Your Career into Proper PerspectivennBy the time my own career started to take off, I was past 30 and had 2 small children. When I look back now, I think I may have unwittingly put them 2nd, indeed, even neglected them at times. I tell you this because I think it's important to keep your career pursuits in the proper perspective. It is a balancing act to go for your dream, "Follow your Bliss", as Joseph Campbell put it, and still be there for your family and friends.
