Tom Wright Many brilliant theorists, philosophers, self-help gurus, and psychiatrists, often speak of the "ego" as if "it" were something other than what it is: an illusion. An illusion is something that is real, but temporary. What we refer to as the ego has no permanent existence, any more than our bodies do. Anything that has no permanence, therefore, can be changed. Yet before anything can be changed, we have to first realize what it is. What, then, is "the ego."
One thing I realized about affirmations is how important the way you state them is. For instance, I used to state one of my affirmations with the words "I am rich." That's great, because I knew that somewhere I was rich, and that all I had to do was find the way to manifest this already existing wealth. The catch was, at that period of my life when I said "I am rich" and then looked around me, not only did I not believe that, but I was also saying that "I am rich, and my life as it was currently represented being rich!" Incredible!
Tom Wright A Course In Shamanism
There are two types of affirmations. Each type has two parts that make up the whole of it. Without acting upon this truth, our affirmation work becomes something other than effective. Let's look at this. Affirmations are effective when they are repeated. Customarily, that repeating would look like us, finding a favorite affirmation, such as "My life now flows with money" and then repeating these words over and over, with the intention that more money manifests for us. Affirmations are associated with courses, classes, and conferences.
Tom Wright In a conversation with a woman the other day, she told me that she was "authentic" when in my opinion, she was anything but. Oh, oh! What mirror was I looking into! Wow! Was that an eye opener. The third eye, for certain. That's when I realized that people (and yes, I am a 'people') often hide behind the term "authenticity" and even more importantly, I realized that horrors of horrors, that I was doing that myself!
Wealth can be defined as any number of things, experiences, or manifestations. In the online seminar series I present, wealth is defined as "an increase in anything that is important to you." So wealth could be more smiles from friends, more money, or more of a profound and distinct experience of your relationship to . . . anything. Wealth doesn't even have to be "an accumulation of" because we don't necessarily stock up on smiles or experiences. This increase could be actual or perceived. It's simply an increase in anything that is important to you. With "to you" being the key phrase.
TB Wright I am a firm believe in the "tell the truth now, tell the truth later" method of living a successful life. Truth is authentic, clean, and it just simply feels right. We have a great method of disce ment for catching when people are telling the truth, including ourselves, and it's our feelings. So the best way to overcome anger is to tell the truth about it. If that feels right, then you are on the right path. You don’t have to agree with these steps for them to work well for you either. And know that it isn't that anger doesn't come up for all of us, it does.
There is in popular writing, and so in people's minds, some confusion over the distinction between creating and manifesting. These words point to two separate and important processes, and so, do not point to the same thing at all. Some of this confusion comes over the fact that the things that we desire to either create or manifest, are the same! But the processes we are using these words to describe most certainly are not. Using them interchangeably would be like using "baking" and "buying" as if they were one and the same action.
Tom Wright We only have relationships to what we are not. We don't ever have a relationship to what we are. How can we? Because when we are being something, we are that, and that's it. There is no separation, and when there is no separation, there can be no relationship to anything. In this example, there's nothing else to have a relationship to because there's nothing outside of ourselves. By way of another example, take our anger. When we are our anger, we can't have a rel
This article is designed to allow you to have some real relief. Not the "fake it till you make it" kind of relief, but the "tell the truth now, tell the truth later" kind of relief: authentic, and lasting. Relief from what? From what the details of our lives may actually be at any one moment. No truer words were ever spoken tha "this too shall pass." Our lives are this way because change is the only constant in this Universe of flux and flow. And the more flowing we become with that flux, the more fluid we become. This flowing is called our ability to "be" with something.
Wanting is the one hard wired human condition that will not go away. We want to be warm, we want to be fed, we want to be loved, we want so many things. And then after those basic wants are fulfilled, we want to be happy and successful, in whatever way success is defined for each of us. Given that truth, it might work the best for us, to learn how to develop a relationship to wanting that works for us as a foundation for our success. What would a relationship like that look like? It would be one that on a continual, day by day, basis, causes us to shift our energy from, to.
TB Wright I once asked a woman who was giving tips on "How to become enlightened" not as a flip way of sassing her, but as a legitimate question. "How can you give advice in any way whatsoever, on being enlightened, when you are not?" She answered by saying that she could certainly know of the existence of something, without being that. I agreed with her. I knew of the sun, without being the sun, but I wasn't saying I was on the path to become the sun now, was I? So the question still remained.
Sometimes, It's Hard! Life is great, life is good, and in the words of Helen Keller, life is an adventure or nothing at all. And, sometimes, life is also hard. Why? Who knows? We hit the wall. We skim the skids. We get upset. We get angry, we get frustrated, things don't look like they're going the way we would like them to go, the list goes on, and on, and on. We do this! Great, again! Why? Because that's what we do sometimes.
TB Wright What? When is less, more? Less is more when that more is more satisfaction, more joy, more money, and more of all the wealth you can imagine, and more. Where wealth is defined in the online seminar I do with participants as "an increase in anything that is important to you." Anything! Wow! That sure covers a lot. It sure does. How about, anything! Okay, now what's the catch? The catch is, in order to experience this more, you are going to have to give up a lot of nothing.
Tom Wright In an inclusion based Universe, everything that exists has validity, even if you don't have access to an awareness of all that exists at any one time. Or even a small part of it. In this inclusion based world view, our failure to be aware of the paranormal, or any part of it, is therefore not a valid a reason to declare those experiences that people have as either hallucinations, or simply that what is felt simply doesn't exist. That would be like saying that radi
Tom Wright Imagine a balance scale. On one side is something people often tell me. They say, “I want to be wealthy.” And then after saying that, they state how much money they want. Or, that they want to have a successful relationship. You fill in the blank, we all want something.
TB Wright Imagine yourself laying on your deathbed, knowing you are never going to get up again. No, not to make yourself feel bad, but for the purpose of distilling what is important to you right from the story of your own life. How can we feel bad about dying anyway? We haven't experienced it yet, and it's an inevitable fact for every single one of us. So, you're on that bed and many thoughts are going through your mind. What do you imagine you are thinking that you should have done different. Good, now we'll take some more time to organize your thoughts. Okay, that's enough.
There is a success we can attain that goes far beyond simple material success. This deep of success is attained only through the giving up our attachment to being "right" about all the illusions we have surrounding what it means to be successful. In the online seminar I do with participants, we work a lot on processes that assist us in giving up the energy wasting practice of attachment. Attachment to illusions usually!
There seem to be a certain number of hard wired skills we have, and one of them is our attention. Our attention isn't what we focus upon, but rather, our ability to stay focused on something. And then to add a further distinction, the most valuable way to pay attention is when we are focused on something, for instance, a solution to a problem we are having, and we do so without judgment, fear, worry, or complaint. That's when we are the most successful in coming up with ideas that actually work to have us have what we want. Usually a way out of some mess!
Honestly, what does joy have to do with it? If I hear one more New Agey "gotta be happy or I'm gonna die" guru tell me that I have to be happy, I'm just gonna . . .well, you get the picture. Do I? Do I have to be happy? Of course not. Being happy or not isn't all that important. What is important, is being what you are in any one now moment, and then having what you're being mean nothing. Again, do you have to have what you are being, mean nothing? No, certainly, you don't have to do this either. In fact, you don't have to do anything at all. Where's that list? Nothing of the sort.
There is a balance point between feelings, that when practiced, makes for harmonious relationships. We're not usually at that point, due to the masculine/feminine bent toward opposites poles in relationship to the way we use feelings, not feelings themselves. And it's this "use" where our communications about what we are really feeling breaks down, and so causes discord. When we use feelings to manipulate, instead of communicating our authentic feelings, then what happens is the truth is not being told.
Truth is the one most powerful method for manifesting money, being happier, and in the long run, for expanding upon our wealth. Where wealth in The One Penny Millionaire!™ is defined as "an increase in any area of your life that is important to you." This is why the "fake it till you make it" method only works in a minimal way. I prefer the "tell the truth now, tell the truth later" method. In this way, those things which can block our success, such as all manner of resistance, fear, anger, and disappointment, are confronted, told the truth about, and then gone beyond.
The title seems almost contradictory, doesn't it? An article on how to let success just happen? How do we let success happen? How does this work? Especially when we have been thoroughly indoctrinated into having to work, stress out, and make things happen, or they just won't happen, now will they? Let me explain. Yes, there are many, many, things to do on the road of success. And one of those things might just be to let it happen! A success that can only be defined by you, for you, and you alone.
*excerpted from the E-book of the same title: Any one of us, can do most anything, for ten seconds. Think about it. Can you forgive someone for just ten seconds? Usually we can. Can you hold your tongue for ten seconds, even when you're upset? I'm sure we've all done that. And then after that ten seconds, what happens? We go right back into the angry and vindictive thoughts again. And that's not a bad thing, not at all. Angry and vindictive thoughts are simply reminders of some authentic way we are feeling deep inside, that we haven't yet fully experienced.
TB Wright It is always useful when making distinctions, to first go to the dictionary, because the definitions of words reveal the amount of energy our race consciousness has put into the intention, or sheer force behind them. Usually the first definition is what most of our efforts have been devoted to maintaining.
Those words were drummed into me by my father so many times, I long ago stopped counting up the reasons why he said what he said. Despite the untruth of them, after a while, they started to sink in. Do anything long enough, and it will become your habit, even the phrases you think with, and that influence the way you feel about your life. For the first forty years of my life, his words determined how I felt, what I did, and how I reacted to circumstances, but not in the way he would have liked them to, I am certain.
In our human knowledge base it is a proverb that what it takes to accomplish any goal is to be committed to that accomplishment. This wisdom is spoken by mountain climbers, sports figures, all great moms and dads, joyful partners, successful CEOs, inventors, great writers, the list of achievers is endless, and their commitments are clear. Their commitments are so clear because their results match up with what they are committed to.
There is a direct connection between wealth, defined in The One Penny Millionaire!™ as "an increase in anything that is important to you" and "honesty." This connection, when practiced, will serve to increase your wealth. But honesty about what? How about everything! Being honest about where you are, emotionally, physically, and financially, will build a solid platform which you can then launch your new ventures off from, regardless of what those ventures may be: a new relationship, new investments, new family life, new career, new cash flow, it does not matter.
Thank God it usually takes time to get rich. Those who are ove ight sensations often go bankrupt. Well, often enough to worry those of us who plan to get rich, slow or quick. Still, lottery winners and those who have received large inheritances have squandered their wealth often enough to have made that process a proverb. So then, it takes time to get rich, so what's the problem?
If you went out to buy a television set, and didn’t really know what the best one was, oh, you had a general idea, but no clear picture, what would you end up buying? You would most likely end up buying something based on what others believed a good TV set should be. Might work for you then, might not. It might even be a great TV set, but the purchase might also not be very satisfying, because others don't know you as well as you do, what you like, what you don't like. Sound like a lot of speculation and guessing? It is, and that's exactly how most of us approach our success.
After thirteen years of what I had considered to be a good marriage, I came home one day to be told, "I want a divorce." Monotone voice, flat expression. Where did that come from? One wife, two children, a thriving business, property, and possessions, I could see problems here. At ...
Making certain we get up early to do our daily affirmation work, sometimes taking it up even hourly, doing visualizations over and over again, resetting our mindsets, setting goals, making promises, fighting with ourselves to get "there" wherever there is, worrying about having too many negative thoughts, being angry, saving face by making believe we aren't angry when we are, attempting to attract our success in by vibrating in just the right frequencies, getting frustrated that it's taking too long, that, without really knowing just how long it's supposed to take anyway, comparing ourselve
Part 1: First of all, in order to give something up, we would have to know what that something actually is. Not what we believe it is, or think it is, but what it actually is. This is a difficult disce ment to make with regard to judgments because there is a line regarding our perceptions of what is a judgment, and what is not a judgment, that when crossed, triggers our automatic mind system to reward us with the feeling of "being right" and the key point is, whether we are correct with our assessment, or not.
All things exist only in relationship to other things. If only one thing existed then, there would be no way to compare or reference it to, anything else. It would be invisible, because it would be all there was. So we seek to gain a perspective, or: "a specific point of view in understanding or judging things or events, esp. one that shows them in their true relations to one another." We do this in order to view of things in their true relationships to each other.
We take ourselves seriously all time, but in misaligned directions away from our success. A misaligned direction is any one that leads away from our success, and toward our upset. Any energy other than that which is devoted toward our being successful, is misaligned energy. And misaligned energy cannot be used for getting us what we want, if what we want is success! Let's start at the beginning.
We spend an inordinate amount of time and energy devoting our literal life essence in an attempt to do, what cannot be done. When we start to shift more and more of that energy over to what can be done, and in alignment with our goals, we are then practicing an incredible power to manifest all that we desire. In this "tell the truth now, tell the truth later" method of success, all of our dreams, with no one and no thing left out, have the greatest possibility of coming true in real time and space. That, more than anything else, is the world I desire to live within.
Often the question is asked of me, "Where does your inspiration come from?" This question suggests that our own inspiration is held within some exte al place, and if we were able to just finally reach there, then maybe the miraculous floodgates of inspired action would then deluge our lives with all the things that we desire. The question also suggests that there might be some exte al force, such as a muse, that then could, upon our meeting that muse, inspire us to action in our chosen field of endeavor, creating masterpiece after masterpiece of success.
There is a distinction between blaming ourselves for the conditions of our lives, and instead, being responsible for everything in our lives, that when made, makes all the difference in the world. A difference that shows up in our lives as how we feel about just about everything. The sticky part of this distinction, the part that keeps most people stuck not making it, is that in our thinking, blame and responsibility customarily refer to the same circumstance.
TB Wright Part II In the first of these three articles, some ways of giving up judging were provided so that we can free that negative energy up from what doesn’t work, to what does work in our lives. Why do this? Because it's energy that we already have, and are already using, but not necessarily devoted toward that which has us be successful, and successful in any area of our lives you can imagine. What does work? What we say works. It's our voice, our choice. More ways for giving up judgments will be provided here, because it seems as if our judging process is endless. It is!
TB Wright Part III Now that you have read the first two articles conce ing judgments, you are sufficiently prepared to go on and practice these techniques for giving up judgments, both visible, and invisible: First of all, even before completing this list of things to do, it is important to start with one beginning task. This task is to decide in advance, just what you are going to use all your newly released energy for. Giving up judgments releases a lot of energy. Either you decide what it's going to be used for, or something else will.
Visualization is something it took me a long time to understand, read: agree with. You can then read "agree with" to mean: to be able to effectively practice. Effective practice is to do something over and over again with the least resistance possible. Usually our resistance to practice comes from not having faith in the outcome, and that's usually as a result of not having practiced enough! It's an endless circle, but one that can easily be worked with for our success. Let's begin this practice for success with an understanding of what visualization is not.
TB Wright It seems as if we all desire to improve our lives. But in order to do something, we have to first understand what exactly, that something is. Since we desire to improve our lives, what does that mean? Improve? According to the dictionary, it means "to increase in value, to bring about a more desirable or excellent condition." Since the specific details for each one of us that we would have to bring about in order to do that, are different, then to each one of us, to "improve" means something different!
What Is Success? We have as many different answers to this question as there are people in the world. So let's provide a paradigm for success that works for every single one of them, with no one, and nothing, left out. Is success how much money we have? Or how many people love us? Maybe, how many people we know? Is success the attainment of wealth, fame, or fortune? Popularity then? Perhaps a loving family? Being at the top rung of an imagined corporate or government ladder?
By, TB Wright If you were in a windstorm, unless you had weight, you would be blown all around. Life can be like a windstorm. Without weights, you would not be able to maintain your balance, and you would quickly lose your place. Weights allow us to focus our attention in a way that keeps our eyes on the goals we have; where it is we want to go, and where it is we are.
